 I can't afford to be away from my work for several weeks when they pay you a whopping $50 per day.

I liked it as well and always found the process interesting, but it can be dang inconvenient for many folks schedules... especially those running their own or working for small business.

Which is my situation.  I work for myself and just started back up with my construction company on top of real estate.  I am a one man band and taking that much time off would be detrimental to say the least.

Good morning, y'all!

Fially got some rain yesterday.  Well, more like 4-5 hours of drizzle but we'll take it.  Rain didn't start until after my 9-hole, 1-man scramble with the Snell Prime 2.0 and Maxfli Tour.  So far, the Snell has performed well.  I know the 3.0 didn't do well in the ball lab but figured I could risk the $20 on the 2.0. 

Anyone else having issues with connectivity to the forum?  The past 2-3 days have been really hit-or-miss.  Lots of "Can't post you reaction" notices and this one, too:

Going out in a little while to enjoy the delightful Fall weather that came in with the rain -- high today of about 72°, mostly sunny (at least until late afternoon but I'll be off the course by then).  Oh, and She Who Must Hunt had another late night adventure snagging something out of the neighbor's bushes hanging over the fence.  She released it and off it went so not sure if it was rabbit or opossum or woodchuck.  Gotta love living in the "city."

Good morning Spies on a much later start on the forum for me than usual.

Kept getting this error message earlier when I tried to view the site?

Rained overnight, and now cloudy, cooler and windy here, really feels like Fall Season has arrived.

Rain through Wednesday here, so my golf plans will be later in the week.

SWMBO has surgery scheduled for tomorrow, so my day will be spent at the hospital. I initially thought they may keep her there, but she says if it all goes well, they will send her home for recovery.

Hope all have the best day they possibly can, and that something enjoyable is in your plans.

Good morning all!  Hope you had a nice weekend.  

 

Going to be an off-cycle week for me.  Traveling to Philly Wed-Fri for work and then I'll be celebrating with a small bachelor party for my Brother-in-law on Sunday.  

I'll still be around though, have a PXG Allan arriving today I'll need to get some initial thoughts up on!

Or you could end up like my last time on jury duty where you sit through weeks of a trial just to be told at the end that you were the alternate and can leave once they start deliberation. I had just started a new job at the time so I wasn't eligible for paid jury duty leave from work, so I basically missed out on 3 weeks of work for no reason and had no effect on the outcome. 

I'm actually scheduled for jury duty again in a few weeks but I have to figure out childcare to be able to attend. We will see how that turns out.

May clear your cookies/permissions and see if that works.  I haven't had it happen on my laptop lately but have in the past.

Good morning MGS!

Good and bad weekend. Good in that my sick one is now better played in his football game Saturday and did pretty good but we could tell he wasn't at 100%. The freshmen and his team dominated my alma mater 33-6 and I couldn't be happier, Band show was freaking great on Saturday evening. Usually I'm bored by the 3rd band as it is usually very similar music and routines but this year it was all different and engaging! We had Bowling Green State University show up and perform as well and they were pretty damn good. (pics coming in an edit from the iphone lol).
 

2nd is an X-Wing!!!

Played yesterday as mentioned on how'd you play thread. Shot 48 but the amount of good shots throughout the bag on the round left me feeling better than last weeks 45! just had 2 stinker holes that cost me and one par 3 where i grabbed one club to long but that was on me and cost me easy 2 strokes. 

Now the bummer of the weekend. Woke up Sunday to a text on the family thread from my MiL that her mom has basically given up and has said she's ready to go. She's 92 and has a good life but it's sad for my wife and her siblings. MiL is heading down to Florida Thursday to help setup hospice care so we all know that in the near future we will be off to FL for a not so fun trip. Well thanks for letting me get that out hear as talking about it helps, but I still feel crappy for my wife and her family.

I get that and pretty sure that you can get an exemption for that reason.  My wife and I have  gotten exemptions for vacation, work trips, illnesses, etc.

I would have most likely received that had I had to go in today. They make you show up on day one if it's not (illness, pre scheduled vacation, etc)

I was just fortunate they released before I drove an hour+ into town and tried to find parking.

Here you are notified in advance of your duty if you request an exemption and it is approved.   Then there are the people that show up and say they can’t be impartial or can’t physically serve to get out of being selected.

I am sending a "call out" to all agronomists, in particular in the Pacific Northwest. 

Does anyone know if the natural trend for grasses on putting greens get thicker and more grainy in the winter?

This will be a short, but highly interesting week.

The good:

TWO concerts this week.  Took the days off after them because forget that noise, im not coming in all strung out the next day from lack of sleep.  I dont get a trophy for being worthless at work haha,.

The... good/neutral?

Transferring to a new lab to do the cutting edge of cutting edge stuff that will be really fun to do.  Bonus its my old boss who I had for 10 years so even better. Should come with a higher title and a raise as well.

The bad:

No one in my current lab knows im leaving yet...

I think they find out this week.

@skraeling have fun at the concerts, and best to you for the new position. 

Quite certain that you will be missed at the old lab, but they will have to figure out a way to carry-on without you there.
