What are you interested in from a golf physical therapist?

Recommended Posts

Good question! Of course sport specific exercises but with a personalized program to address each individual's particular weaknesses, eg. structural, physical, mobility, etc .. obviously subsequent to some sort of evaluation.

For example, given my age, condition, ranges of motion at different areas - how can I swing more efficiently so that I can (.. avoid injury and) play and practice more often..?

Recovery strategies. Whether it be post round or even mid round.

I thankfully can recognize when I am just flat out tired (most all the time with the kid and knowing another will be here soon).

However knowing exactly what to do in those moments can be tough outside of have some food or drink on hand to spike some energy.

Thanks for the responses, I am definitely working with a lot of those clients that have injuries and want to play golf. I am working on a more specific program to addresses common weaknesses in the average golfer to help improve their consistency, swing speed, and hardiness.

It seems like open books are a good exercise. The first time I tried these, I did ok with it. But, then after my knee injury, it was prescribed again by a PT and it just made my knee worse. I think exercise and stretching are overlooked by many golfers.

I've seen a golf PT since August and like him so much I'm about to drop my instructor. Just saying a good/the right PT has the potential to be as good as swing instructors. This is not a paid advertisement, lol.

I have been getting better at doing some swing feedback, but mostly from a movement/biomechanical position. So far I have had good results with my clients.
