One thing I noticed with the M/L is that in 4-5 rounds the fingers were ever so slightly loose (on the Sussex and other gloves I played). I always just thought this was normal. Moving down to a M was a game changer because after 2 rounds the glove stretched to fit perfectly! Definitely give the M/L a try, I think you’ll find it a little tight at first but after the first 9-12 holes it’ll feel perfect.

I always end up having to crank the velcro closed after a handful of rounds on the large to keep the palm tight. Definitely going to give it a try!

Great reviews, they look like really well made gloves by all accounts, shame they're not available in Australia. Could cause wierd brand issues here though I guess, Red Rooster is the name of a pretty popular national chicken fast food chain in Aus.

Great reviews by those who tested and already completed their final reviews.

As one who normally doesn't wear a glove while golfing, the reviews here have made these a viable choice if I decide to wear a glove during cooler temperatures we see in both the spring and fall.

Played in my 9-hole league yesterday and wore the M/L due to it being 50° and I wanted to see the difference between that and the M. The Medium is definitely the size for me and it took this test to realize it. Fun part is I took a look at my dads glove and he's wearing a Cadet Large and I noticed his velcro strap is cranked and overlapping by a lot. I told him it should be just short of overlapping. I had him try the Sussex in the M/L and he was quite impressed by the fit. Helping to educate another person on proper glove sizing!

Red Rooster Sussex Golf Glove – Official MGS Forum Review by EasyPutter

Introduction-
My name is Derek and I live in Western New York in the Buffalo region. Golf here is a half a year outdoor sport and then the other half year is indoor on simulators or any number of other ways to knock the little ball around.  I try to get as many outdoor rounds in each year while weather permits. Summers get to be hot and dry with dormant grass and cracked clay soils bounded by wet seasons though popup storms make it a good idea to carry rain protection even leaving the car under clear sunny skies.

6.7.20226thteerainydayjoy186v.jpg.5f8820c82a6d8e6bf9c5e4028582b488.jpg 8_22.2022rain3rdfairwaydrops(2)186v.jpg.42e25badfb4c2f121d43f83cecfa1b44.jpg 8_22.2022rain3rdfairwayrainbow(2)186v.jpg.9443fbca96a54b49eab291a841084b07.jpg

My golf game is that of a casual player getting out as often as possible in all kinds of weather that doesn't involve frostbite.  My partners don't worry about the weather knowing I will play without them which is more the rule than the exception and I usually take photos so they will know what they missed.  I walk with my push cart and with rain a big umbrella in the holder for somewhere to stand and walk out of the rain and bag cover that keeps the golf bag and even phone dry that runs the SwingU app every round.

The past 3 years I have had a season pass with my wife's blessing to, “golf as much as you want as long as you’re available on weekends.”  That deal means I play as many as 4 or 5 times a week on weekdays when I get in 9 holes between end of work and dinnertime, and 18 holes whenever more time is available.  I have a season pass at a new course this year so it will be a new challenge for club choice, hole strategy, and amount of exertion with more vertical than the previous course. I use most of my vacation days for golf.

Golf started in high school with a gym elective when we hit plastic golf balls to learn how to swing a club. Summers were all about Putt-Putt miniature golf with putters and miniature golf never really fell out of something to do.  As an Army Reserve training unit Commander I would visit my instructors wherever they were teaching for their annual training and the visit only took a half hour of a trip that was an overnight out-and-back halfway or more across the country.  Each fort has a golf course range and putting green so I did swing and putting practice though nobody took interest in helping me to understand on-course etiquette.  My last duty station before military retirement was where I finally had a lesson with a PGA Pro and discovered that everything he taught, it was just the etiquette piece I was missing.

As an Army Combat Engineer, wearing gloves is normal for whatever hand protection will keep hands ready for the next task.  Golf is no different and with a swing count for a 25 handicap (and with a club head strike that is not terribly consistent), a glove limits my hand injury to a small callus on the heel of the glove hand. I have partners who will golf bare handed but that is not for me with my life experience.

I'm grateful for MGS Mods selecting me to test the Red Rooster Sussex Golf Glove and for Red Rooster Golf in providing this opportunity to test their products with the willingness to allow MGS Forum members including myself to provide in return commentary about experiences and both pros and cons of the testing experiences as the test proceeds and at test conclusion.   That choice by Red Rooster Golf alone suggests to me the product is as good as their site claims, “The best glove in the game.”

MGSMostWantedPerformanceGloveTestresult600h.jpg.939fcbd82373007b6ae90f9b0284b134.jpg

Not lost on me is their Glove Purchased = Glove Donated program as their way of “Playing It Forward” to First Tee programs.  As a beneficiary of the PGA HOPE program for Veterans, I know the value and power that these organizations provide to those intended to be served, First Tee serves youngsters who are growing up with golf a healthy guiding influence physically, mentally and socially, and PGA HOPE serves Veterans with VA Recreational Therapy by Memorandum Of Agreement who learn and use golf as a means for healing body and mind while connecting with other Veterans through golf.

The way I intend to test this product is using it daily just as I always use my glove. Glove on at the first tee and off at the last cup, and that includes (brace yourself) putting.  Weather is whatever happens so it will be worn dry and wet, and the only variation to what I have done before will be using the storage box as that too is part of the test as I see it.

For the test and review I will be comparing the Sussex glove to my current Zero Friction glove and Callaway wet weather gloves and cold weather gloves.  Apples and Oranges perhaps but I think that will be in the fit parameter more than anything else.  I will be making generalities to previously worn gloves who's pedigree is forgotten but not the tactile experience of glove on hand while playing golf.

It's funny how few photos I have of my golf gloves
ZeroFrictiongolfglove.jpg.a2ab0615476a8303e5fe8e4efc6119e2.jpg 8_23.20223rdgreendrive(2)ZeroFrictioncrop.jpg.c8668af77707b42c34f9450c7315b74f.jpg CallawayColdweather187v.jpg.2fd42ab317917a34cbff6d693c3daccc.jpg

What will make this product stay with me after testing is a good fit that feels good while holding the club and in general.  Red Rooster recommends removing the glove after each shot but I prefer to not remove the glove between first tee and last cup and part of that is the stress imparted to a well fit glove just peeling it off and thrusting fingers and hand inside which for me is about 40 times a 9 hole round of golf.

I am excited about testing this product because last week on the April 6th MGS Forum Community Call, the main topic was Red Rooster golf gloves and guest Kerry of Red Rooster gave a talk about the background of the company and facts about fitting.  I learned more about gloves than ever before and it made me want to know the whole experience.  I signed up to be a tester as soon as that call was finished.

Kerry has the RED ROOSTER black hat
RedRoosterteam.jpg.0de95d779f55b0747f6a811a6e45b5cc.jpg

I have known about Red Rooster products since their debut and received promotional emails that I originally signed up to receive, and I have seen their ads and promotions.  Like all things when operating on a budget, the expenditure has to fit the expected outcome so I am interested to see if Red Rooster gloves become part of the products I will fit into my golf budget.  What I am expecting is an online personal glove fitting and receiving top quality gloves that I hope will last a number of rounds.

-- The Testing Review --

First Impressions (10 out of 10)

The Red Rooster box itself is something that speaks of quality from first appearance.  It is not a standard shipping container and announces itself as something to be noticed with its iconic branding.

image_123923953(48).JPG.c3dc2f078661be6348c5caa732eb47f0.JPG

The gloves provided were 2 of the Sussex glove we are testing, not yet available on the market as we were made aware by Kerry Moher of Red Rooster.  It is all leather with a snug comfortable fit, fine smooth leather with all stitching where it is supposed to be leaving nothing hanging loose or evident anywhere along the seams inside or out.  Comfortable from first try-on.

1.10200h.jpg.9fe534efb7412635d6e97516f7b028a4.jpg 1.13200h.jpg.c7006ec340768ae5b65db1df03c26887.jpg
[brand new out of the box when first received]

The other glove in the box provided is a Ranger glove with white leather on the palm side and back side joined together by a fabric, all looking neat and well coordinated with red accent on the back around the hook and loop glove closure.
image_123923953(13).JPG.2fab98cce2dd7bc8020d011f4ba9403e.JPG image_123923953(14).JPG.ca3a60774521309139ee4276eb3c81c5.JPG image_123923953(15).JPG.2a4887a458b08f365ac4c193cec46a65.JPG image_123923953(16).JPG.a97e1e51b420563df3dfe9f6efc11cfa.JPG

Red Rooster is aiming their gloves at the market to provide a high quality glove and offers a regular prescription refill kind of program where gloves arrive on schedule to ensure a fresh glove is on hand without the need to think about going to a golf store to get the next one to use.

The box also included a glove box with full double zipper closure that would allow for any configuration of leaving the zips partially open to aid in ensuring the gloves within can adequately dry while being held flat and protected inside.

image_123923953(35).JPG.6748b6815e57cf0fe4acf2deb6ee60f0.JPG image_123923953(5).JPG.586393942eade538d67d61d79a3f893d.JPG

Two hook-side of the hook & loop fastener are circles on each side of the outside of the glove box that allow for air drying with the glove box hanging from its D-ring snap hook on the glove bag or cart during the round.  The iconic Red Rooster emblem on both sides of the glove box help to identify where the gloves are to not leave them behind.

Aesthetics (10 out of 10)

The glove looks like a top of the line glove that fits the hand like a second skin.  The leather is unblemished and uniform in color, and what a bright white it is!  The stitching has barely visible thread outside and inside it is evident that only the thread needed is used in the glove.  The simple design of the Sussex glove has a pleasing minimal look that goes with any fashion or style, no consideration necessary to make sure glove and shirt, shoes, hat, whatever is going to go together for that chic look at the clubhouse.

The Fit and Feel (18 out of 20)

I was at first concerned that the fit of the sizing recommended during the glove fitting was too small.  I knew from what Kerry Moher said that it was going to be tight and something to get used to so I trusted the process and applied that Fit as part of the test.

I found the Feel was at first uncomfortable with my fingertips touching the ends of the glove fingers but soon discovered once I was not focusing on it the sensation was easily disregarded.  The seams along the fingers are noticeable at first because they are present and the sizing ensures they are in direct contact with finger skin but that too was easily disregarded while wearing the glove as the snug fit does become like a second skin.

My habit is putting the glove on at first tee and removing at last cup and as intended I was going to try to adapt to gloving and un-gloving at each shot to follow a proposed test variable and look for wear on both of the Sussex gloves provided.  Temperatures in WNY for April and May along with wet conditions made it much preferable to keep the glove on and the notion of trying that was reserved for the second glove.

Statistically I saw no improvement of my game with the glove overall.  I had an immediate improvement the first day I wore the glove but no repeated performance improvement for the duration of the test.   I cannot attribute the remarkably low score of that round to the glove.

The material did not change in its shape as much as I was expecting it to from what I was told to expect and put that down to my easy wear of just about every glove, shoe, article of clothing I have.  The glove still fits tightly and even the overlap of the hook & loop closure did not happen to any degree as was presented to be normal during the fitting.

The glove is somewhat difficult to take off but not more than any leather glove that fits well.  The initial movement of the glove off the fingers took the most work to get started but then all fingers came out without the fingers of the glove turned inside out.  That was probably the only real indication I had that the leather material was forming to the shape of my fingers as the release became easier with each round.

On The Course (18 out of 20)

The first part of whether it was noticed by others is both pro and con; pro that nobody noticed so it did not attract attention as unusual or gaudy, flashy, or kitsch.  Con in that it did not attract attention but that too was pro in that it afforded opportunity to draw people’s attention to it in discussion.

Once aware of it as a new not yet on the market glove, it attracted a lot of attention and interest by those in the foursome.

I feel like I have great control of my club wearing the Sussex glove.  The club fits into the hands so well I did not think about actually hanging onto the cub while playing.  This contributed to being able to focus on what I was doing with my swing more than what I needed to do because of the glove between my hands and the club.

[These two photos taken after 9 full 18-holes of play in wet and dry conditions]

Over the course of 10 18-hole rounds of golf in dry and wet conditions with a range day when I continued to use the same Sussex glove, there is minimal wear on the heel of my hand where the end of longer clubs rests.  The rest of the glove, while no longer pristine white, show no signs of wear but do look well worn in for fit.

[Palm wear after 10 full 18-hole rounds - that is the only apparent leather wearing]

I consider the glove to be appropriate for size and a good wearing glove.  I mentioned the glove wear to my PGA HOPE Ambassador friend Scott who can bust any glove in one or less than two full rounds and he of course said it was because I was wearing it and not him.  So that said, this is my experience and hope it also translates to others experience.

The Good, the bad, the in between (20 out of 20)

I found the Sussex glove to be a contributor to my enjoyment of golf.  Anyone following my Forum posts, reading my signature information below my posts, or paying attention to my handicap knows  that while I might play a lot of golf and receive coaching from some of the best PGA teaching professionals and coaches, I am not a golfer who is going to make a run for someone’s money.  In fact that is the least I am interested in when golf is at hand.  It is my peaceful place and the Sussex glove fits right into my peaceful place.  In no way does it take away from the experience.  If anything it enhances the calm and serenity by putting a comfort between my glove hand and the club grip.

There is nothing other than appreciation for the glove box, carried on the outside of my golf bag while pushing my cart and inside the side pocket when on the riding cart for yesterday’s PGA HOPE Secretary’s Cup.

2.1.JPG.06f777f6fee1aa6b7d4ddeceb48c5510.JPG image_123923953(32).JPG.987f2fd0a4e843b146ce2bd1f4fc9cff.JPG image_123923953(31).JPG.9c57b38754f6142e7ba7aa32ee3b7e04.JPG image_123923953(33).JPG.eabc7b16c665b262f2ca7dabb3cae102.JPG
[Silver D-ring included and stretch pocket on left inside - box is hard shell with heavy zipper]

It was not intended to be a long wearing glove but in my experience it is not showing wear as fast as I had anticipated it would.  As with all my other tests, the write-up might have a due date but the test itself is open-ended and this Sussex glove will be worn until it needs to be changed and then I will test the second one just the same.

And maybe (if snowballs survive well in hellacious places) I will try removing the glove between shots and see if the second glove wears as well, better or worse than the first one that was worn from first tee to last cup..

Play it or Trade it? (20 out of 20)

I am going to keep playing it.  There is a chance the glove helped on it’s first round to play my best round.  Perhaps I have a second best round waiting for me when the second glove makes its debut?

The Red Rooster Sussex glove is definitely nice to have and adds a quality of wanting to go play knowing it fits well and performs like a second tougher skin.

20230510_195255.jpg.c15d0e36e2d0cc7354e81872e1a3a37a.jpg
[After 10 full 18-hole rounds with good closeup of stitching and leather between fingers.]

As with all quality products, the asking price is fair for the product which I think does not help to promote it in the marketplace with a majority of golfers looking to trim cost wherever possible to the point of golfing bare handed to avoid cost of a glove altogether.   Perhaps these reviews of the quality and for me in particular the long durability will help convey the savings from a well made glove that ends up being less expensive when comparing initial cost to replacement measured in number of swings/rounds of golf comparatively with bargain brands of golf gloves.

It is my belief the type of golfer this product would fit the best is one who has options for spending on golf, or who has golf as a favorite pastime and invests in the enjoyment of his/her game with equipment that reduces cost over time by buying better up front.  That is my world of golf and I believe someone like me might read this and give it a try so they can tell me how right or wrong I might be from experience without resorting to being an armchair sports expert.

-- Conclusion --

The Red Rooster Sussex glove is a well made quality glove designed to fit snug and last a moderate time in normal use.  Its leather is soft and substantial providing excellent coverage and protection to hands and fingers.  Not intended for long lasting wear, my experience is it is lasting as long as other gloves do though in my use a glove regularly lasts well over 50 rounds, with 10 in so far ongoing testing will prove if it is a long wear glove or shorter as Red Rooster intends for it to be preferring comfort and feel over long wear for the Sussex.

[Practice round for the PGA HOPE Secretary's Cup May 14, 2023]

The aspects of the product I find significant are (good) the quality from first tryon and good wear paying attention to storing the glove well,  and (bad) in the price point of comparative higher price as most golfers buy gloves on a lowest price basis.

I will say that knowing the glove will outlast a lower cost glove would make the slightly higher price in reality a bargain for longer playing time and/or greater comfort and enjoyment when playing our favorite game in the world. Perhaps this is the glove for those who can afford a fine glove just as a discerning car buyer would consider quality and comfort over the cheapest vehicle.

Great write up @Swood1994looks like a fantastic product and I am 100% convinced that I’m going to need to buy the case. Im not a premium glove wearer but that case is something that has me ready to hit buy.

So when you get the case are you going to call it Justin?  If you don't I will 🤪

nice work.

I really appreciate the compliment and put down the readability to my background in education as a teacher and author, most particularly a military instructor training staff officers how to brief a reluctant commander looking for any excuse to not make a decision for things like prose, spelling, grammar, and number tabulations (the review is out of 100 points for instance).

Don't forget the 3 dots in the upper right corner of a post has 3 options:
Report - use if a post has something about it the Mods should look at for their own assessment of appropriateness.
Share - use it to copy the URL or send the post to some other social media.
Edit - the gem of the choices because >>> anything found on read-back that is not right (and for me that is when I do my best proofreading👍 ) the text can be changed and then scroll to the bottom and save and (this is the cool part) you don't even have to put a reason why it was edited and you don't have to select show it was edited!!!

Your review is a good read too Jeremy and so are the others each from a different perspective.  What I like most about our reviews is how we can look at our photos to see how our testing results compare 👀

I realize I am a bit late in reading these final reviews, but you all did a great job with this. Your assessment here reminded me of several earlier comments I noted where folks thought ~$20 for a glove was outrageous and preferred paying $15 for a 12 pack (exaggeration).  I have been wearing the Bionic gloves for some time and while I cringe a bit every time I need to buy a couple, I have found them more durable than the old FJs and Titleist cabretta gloves I used to wear and I like the fit and feel on the club.  Great review and I am looking forward to trying this one.  Thanks!

The comments on price reminded me of several earlier comments where folks thought ~$20 for a glove was outrageous when they could get a 40 pack of Kirkland gloves for $5 🤷‍♂️.  I wear the Bionic gloves and I cringe a bit every time I need to buy a couple, but now I am looking forward to trying a couple of these and seeing how they compare.  Thanks!

I know what you mean, my reviews have definitely improved since the first one and I'm sure if you start from the beginning with the framework of the review in mind as you progress from the before, during and after testing, your review will write itself too. Key for me is having pictures of everything I write about because of that saying that a picture tells a thousand words and lends not just credibility to your writing but connects the words to the ideas for those who learn better by seeing. Video uploaded to YouTube and the link to the video pasted into the review is a huge plus that runs the YouTube file in a window inside your review.

Just an update on y Sussex glove,

round 9 I had two shots where the club twisted in my hands. I didn’t really think about it until a day later and had a chance to reflect on my round. I am not blaming the glove l, but I do know I didn’t have that issue the previous rounds with the Sussex.
I am playing again tomorrow (Tuesday) and I think I’ll swap gloves to my old glove and test out my theory and glove.

Might be interesting to throw in a new glove for a few holes then move back to the old one to see if you notice the leather stretched past its life. Might be time to retire it if it has that much play in the leather were the grip can twist in your hand. This may be different than what we are all used to considering a “finished” glove. Look forward to your update!

I have updated my review. I tried a new glove that I used to play. With in 9 holes I had 3 shots that the club twisted in my hand. If memory serves, I only had 2 in 6-7 rounds with the Sussex. I put my old Sussex on for 3 holes and then put a new Sussex on. Man what a great feeling glove.

Update:  i played a round yesterday putting the glove through a hard slog.  My little guy fell in the mud trying to reach a found ball (and his shoes got sucked off his feet) so we've got some dirt from fishing him out.  Zero visible wear, all the seams have full integrity, and i will be taking some saddle soap to it lol.  Great glove.

20230510_195238.jpg.c3d850ec9bdb1bc60675e1632103dd6e.jpg 20230510_195241.jpg.c2f26bd0e431bf22f1755b160a89345d.jpg

IMG_20230514_194935.jpg.7040a9184ab5f85506bf58f4da49ab26.jpg.b1f22ea84b502f24a26277968be7df49.jpg

Final Score (96 out of 100)

My Sussex is still holding up after 9 rounds, and has not faltered yet!

I like it so much I just subscribed to get the Scots Silver on a regular basis, at least until the Sussex is commercially available.

Working at getting better ... and very slowly getting there.

Wanted to duck in here with a moderator evaluation of the Red Rooster gloves. RR was extraordinarily kind to let us mods get in on this test as well, and they went far above and beyond when I suggested allowing Kirke to test their junior glove (my thought was that he would do this test instead of me, but they included both of us). I thought I'd bring Kirke on to the test because one of the key brand IDs for Red Rooster is their program of donating junior gloves.

I'll write up my thoughts on the Red Rooster Range Rooster, Sussex, Glove Box, and towel that I've been using. But here is Kirke's first MyGolfSpy Forum Member review!

Many of you have already read several of the Red Rooster Sussex reviews done by our members. We really enjoyed those and as Forum Staff were fortunate to also take part of this member test with Red Rooster.

As you will see (or have seen) our reviews are now going to be posted as we didn’t want to take the focus away from the true testers of the Sussex Glove.

A big thank you to @Red Rooster Golf and Kerry. Truly an awesome company and one I am really looking forward to working with more in the future!

First Impressions - 10/10

I loved the packaging. Simple, compact with a nice note added for personalization and inside the box some gloves which again were well packaged. This doesn’t seem like much, but for me it made it feel more like Christmas morning! So a big plus.

The Sussex Glove itself, again really impressed on first try. I received 2 sizes. M and ML. After putting them on it was pretty clear the ML was a bit on the big side and the M was a shade snug (and therefore the perfect fit).

For some added context I normally purchase gloves more along the lines of the Range Rooster, which aren’t as premium and what I would consider a more durable glove. So when I put on the Sussex I was truly blown away. So so soft, the tackiness and feel on initial try were truly expectational and as someone who doesn’t normally go this route with a glove I was a bit shocked at what I had been missing out on.

Aesthetics - 9/10

I am a sucker for the logo having grown up on a farm and raising chickens and roosters. The glove itself is simple. It is classic, white and in terms of overall look there isn’t too much else to say truthfully.

Clean, pure and classic.

Why not a 10? Well as I am a little picky from time to time, I do prefer the look of the Range Rooster. I like the added red and cut. In the end a simple preference. Truly nothing to really knock the Sussex for, but my own feelings.

Finally I should note that I did get several questions about the gloves when I put them on and positive comments on how they looked.

The Fit and Feel - 20/20

Red Rooster prides themselves in their fit and their fitting process. While the ML is a little big, it is still playable for me. However the M has that insanely good fit which I was hoping for.
I have also touched on feel, but now I will talk more on feel on the golf club. It probably didn’t help that the gloves I have been using were worn and due for replacement, however I felt as though I could grip the club with a single finger. I was shocked by the difference.

PXL_20230609_205225130.jpg     PXL_20230609_205214356.jpg

Added in that feel through the glove the grip was similar to a second layer of skin and it is fair to say my whole view on gloves and their role has been changed forever.

The fit itself is snug, at the beginning almost uncomfortably so, however when going up against the slightly bigger ML the tighter fit of the M is exactly what a glove should be like.

I also mentioned how soft the glove is. This should be restated here again. There is soft and then there is Red Rooster soft!

The Sussex is a premium leather glove and it’s obvious as soon as you put it on. The stitching is great and while I saw some mention a thicker inside stitch, while I can say I noticed it, that didn’t also have any real lasting effect for me.

On The Course - 38/40

Straight up, white gets dirty quicker and given it is all white this is kinda a downer for me. Or maybe I need to take better care of things?

Truthfully it isn’t a real knock, but I do have a hard time giving things perfect scores because really there is always room for bits of improvement.

Okay - On the course I can honestly say I have golfed better with these gloves. Hands down they have helped with confidence and feel. I still have awful holes from time to time and bad rounds, but putting on the glove is part of the routine and something that helps prepare for the shot. I did try and put one of my other UA gloves on and it felt… bad. I feel spoiled now and on the course these straight up perform and help you gain confidence.

This is where I also want to touch on wear and tear of the glove. We were told these gloves were meant for a 3-5 round or so use.

I can confidently say they last at bare minimum this long. They really lost a lot longer, but after the 4th ish round … maybe even the 3rd there is a noticeable drop off in feel.

For some added reference I have kept my gloves in a TGJ golf glove compartment flat and dry. I also take my glove off after every shot and only put it on right before. I do not wear my glove when putting either.

PXL_20230609_205246783.jpg

I have used these gloves for minimum 10 rounds each with no tears, but a drop in feel. Weather has been a bit all over the place being cold, stupid hot and damp at times as well.

I am also rolling in the other section of this review to make some notes.

The biggest issue I have with many gloves is that my grip is a bit strong and I can wear through gloves and in many the thumb twists. I can't stand this and was so happy that this does not happy with these. It makes a world of a difference in terms of feel and help me a lot with those more feel type shots.

I also had several different grips (corded, GP CP2 and Lamkin Crosslines) for this test and on all of them they were exceptional. I think this is important as there are grips which are harder on gloves, as well as some grips which just don't provide the same feel. The Sussex passes and exceeds all expectations here!

Play It or Trade it? 20/20

Bottom line these perform. These do what they say on the tin and more. The Sussex is a premium glove for golfers who want an exceptional feel with some added durability.
I will be playing these moving forward. They work for me and as mentioned my eyes have been opened to a new market of gloves and a new view on how they should perform.

Even if these are not the cheapest I believe that they are worth the ticket price and when you add in the value provided through the customer service and programs they offer, I would highly highly recommend this to any golfer who … no any golfer. Period.

Total 97/100

TLDR

The Red Rooster Sussex is a premium leather glove with a pure classic design and tremendous feel. My golf game has improved since using this glove and any golfer who wears a glove should try these. Exceptional fit, premium feel, solid durability which is above average for the category of this glove makes it a truly exceptional product.

Thank you again @Red Rooster Golf. Was an absolute blast and you have a full supporting in me moving forward!

Thanks for the review.. well written and informative.

@GolfSpy_APH looks like we had a very similar experience with sizing but difference of opinion on looks. I stay away from gloves that look and have the feel of the range rooster (although in its case it’s meant to be a range glove). That being said it’s completely a matter of opinion and something about throwing on a fresh clean premium glove just feels great

I’ve been a little absent from the forum in general. I was battling a nasty neck injury right before a 3-day tournament (no not a LIV event). I exclusively used my Medium sized Sussex bringing the round total to 12. I can tell it’s lost some of its tackiness but it’s still performing. We dealt with some thick rough in the last day and I didn’t have a club twist in my hand once.

I will post pictures of the state of the glove some time tomorrow.

another small update was on the case. Unfortunately I had the carabiner clip break on me so there’s the off chance it could fall off the bag but I think just bending it back could fix it.
