Played Saturday just getting to posting. Score wasn’t great but what a fun course. This is one of those hidden gems you hear about. If you find yourself in northern Wisconsin, I would highly recommend this course.

I’m still alive. No complete rounds to post this week. Thunderstorms early in the week and then a major storm Thursday. Knocked out power to the club and damaged at least 100 trees. They actually closed the course Saturday and Sunday. We were planning on playing anyway this morning but another thunderstorm and another inch of rain. 
 

We have noon tee times on Monday. The course has electricity now, and charged golf carts. More importantly, no rain in the forecast (probably until September). 
 

However, based on the holes that I did play this week, I would not be anywhere near the top half of the leaderboard.

First post to this forum - had a pretty good day. New (new to me at least) driver and shaft made a world of a difference from my old Ping. Was able to hit all but 2 fairways, averaging around 265 on my drives which helped considerably. Had a few 3 putts and a very disappointing 7 on a short par 5. 180 out after my drive and I thinned it, had a fade and ended up in the water.

Inconsistent putting because the greens were punched about a week ago. First time playing this course, prior knowledge would have helped for a couple of holes (one where I drove it too far, into a pond, with my 3 wood, and another where I didn't need to lay up.

Well, that was fun!  Almost had a fairly good round, at the end is more like a 2 for 1.  Bing, Bango, BOGO BABY!

Started the tournament on the back 9.  Had a fun group of guys that I joined that were used to playing with each other.  Very friendly and tolerant of my slop when the rails fell off.  I lost 3 sleeves of brand new vX1s.  Total of 12 drops.  The fescue was so tall and thick that if you hit it even just a little bit deep there wasn't much chance of finding it.  I lost two balls on a par 3 and ended up 4 putting.  Gak.

 

I did have a very awesome par for me, that given my current course handicap netted out to an albatross.  Since I tend to fade my longer clubs, the right tee shot was over a tree on the left.  The right to left wind should help to keep it in line.  I actually nailed it pretty good, but it caught the top of the tree and fell 10 yards forward.  My second shot was the best I've ever hit my 4w.  It carried nearly 200 yards with a beautiful fade to the center of the left fairway.  The slope and spin kept it rolling nicely to sit 5 yards in front of the green with a front right flag.  Just a quick pop up left it sitting a foot and a half in front of the hole for an easy putt.

Weird round today. I started +5 through 3 and then finished the front nine with 5 pars and 1 bogey. The back nine was much of the same, a double bogey on 10 and 11 followed by 2 bogeys. Was only +2 over the final 5 holes. I’m really struggling on longer par 4s and par 5s right now. My hybrid just cracked last week so that definitely is playing a part in the struggle… but still, I really need to score better. 

In other news, I put my Ricki Fowler 60° wedge in the bag today in his honor.

May want to check the data entry on this one.  I think your net strokes to par should be 2 instead of your net score.  Should keep you from the bottom of the list.  That's my spot.

Unexplicable nightmare fueled round.

Played this course for the first time two weeks ago and shot 83. Today, I shot 102 and lost 11 balls/shots in the process including 9 off the tee and one single hole where I lost 3 balls/shots...

I'm at a loss to explain what happened with my ball striking today. As for my driver, it has alway been the weakest area of my game but today, it was straight up laughable.

Started out rough, 7 over after 6. But was able to pull it together and send a +4 76. Driver was on point today, although the shaft has twisted inside the adapter new Takomo irons were dialed, putter was hot from 30' weirdly enough, and I started playing Srixon ZStar Diamond over the PV1x, and they are so great. Also played them in our scramble on Friday and they performed so well. Can't complain about a day on the course

Timing worked perfectly. 2:10pm walking 9 took 2 1/2 hours followed by 20 minute drive to the next course, 5:30 where I rode the front 9 in just about 2 hours. 

Didn't score particularly well but I take away a lot of positive. Many of my missed greens and fairways are long and left meaning I'm subconsciously aligning for a slice that wasn't there today. 

Now I need to reinforce good targeting and really pay attention I'm not pointing at danger. I could put the driver and 3w on fade bias adjustment if I ever miss hitting banana balls.

Played very well until the course got backed up and we were waiting on a couple groups ahead of us. Went 37 front, then 40 back nine.

Hit 10 of 14 fairways, 12 of 18 GIR, with 8 of 9 on the front before the back ups occurred.

Beautiful picture-perfect weather, high 70's with about a 15 mph steady breeze to keep from getting too hot.
