Went lights out and played my best 9 holes on the front 9 shooting a 39. Slipped a little on the back 9 in my short game which kept me from breaking 80. Best part is I hit 80% FIR for the round!

Warm up session on the range would not have predicted the ball striking round that transpired on the course. Very windy and hot. However, only missed one fairway and it was just right of the short par 4. Hit seventeen greens in regulation. Hit a lot of half iron shots under or shaped in the wind. The one green I missed sank a 17 footer for par! Even the miss hits were good enough today! Hope this roll I have been on continues. However, the handicap keeps falling like rain!

How do we enter plus 1 for the course handicap? I couldn’t get it to take the + or plus.

enter as a negative number .  If you are "plus 1" .... first of all... WOW... nice  .. second of all.... "-1" should get you there... unfortunately, it is how we had to set up the template so the calculations would work.

Had an unbelievable round. Three birdies and an eagle on the front nine and -4 at the turn. My wife was also playing lights out, 4 over at the turn. Then I thought, wow, how low can I go. Big mistake, as reality and karma hit me in the side of the head and was 3 over on the back nine. Overall, broke par and finished at 1 under, so very pleased.  Even better my wife, tied her best score at 85.

Today's round was a little strange in that I hit five of eighteen greens in regulation (three more than I typically hit.  However, too many bonehead plays yielded just as many doubles.  One where we all saw the ball land just in the rough on the 11th hole and no one could find it!  Very frustrating.  They are growing the rough and keeping the greens a little longer in anticipation of having no water for three or four days when they install the new irrigation pump station.  Oh well.  The back nine started with three straight doubles.  The good news is that I finished with pars on four of the last five holes.

My fairways hit was about normal and I was slightly under my typical number of up and downs. 

 

Given I didn't sleep my best (and can barely keep my eyes open to type this), it was a pretty good day.  With the heat index over 100 degrees, humidity at 73% (dew point at 79 degrees) and no wind (only 3 mph), it was a day of survival even at 7 AM!

The streak ended in a total implosion! Bad thing was I hit it solid all day. Bad breaks and over thinking the wind. Example 168 into the wind hit a hard 8 iron right over the flag. However, it flys the green and behind a tree. Can’t make better than double from the spot. Had that type of thing happen four times. Well that’s golf!

Got on as the second tee time of the day as a single and joined up with a twosome who had the first tee time of the day.  What a great pairing.  All of us on vacation in Wisconsin Dells and I now have an invitation to come play at their home course.  Golf was OK but the day was great.  Great weather, nice course, good playing companions.  Would have liked to hit the club face better but not a terrible round and not far off my handicap.

I left my range finder on the cart on Sunday, so I decided to go get it this morning. It was windy and cool (compared to normal). When I got there I ran into one of my regular partners and told him I could play for 3 hours. 2 1/2 hours later I had carded a 77. I seem to play much better when I play fast.

Played this course for 2nd time. 

Missed a lot of fairways by a few yards. 

Recently my Iron play has been miserable but luckily, chip and putting were on par today. 

Overall, 75 Gross score is satisfying, but it wasn't stress-free golf.  I wished I'd hit my greens a bit more

After the rains day, no carts let out on the course conditions, greens slow slow slow.  But few people out walking either pushing, pulling or carrying clubs.  Only one par for the day as best score on a par-3 that is usually trouble, go figure
