My opinion:  biggest potential gain is with the driver.  I’d try to go to a store and compare.   If you like the current putter, no reason to change.

Great advice! The beautiful thing about getting fit earlier this year is I now have a "club guy" that I have a relationship with. I'll probably get with him the next rainy weekend when I can't play.

... I applied the Sim2 Max for 1.5 seasons and loved it. Went to a TM fitting and the performance compared to the OG Stealth was virtually identical and I preferred the sound/feel/look of the Sim2 so stuck with it. My TM fitting with the Stealth2 was a different story and while the HD wasn't on my radar it out performed the Sim2 by 7-12 yds and the look/feel was greatly improved compared to the OG in my opinion and I made the switch and could not be happier. Best I have driven the ball in years and the combination of slightly increased spin, forgiveness and distance has been just about perfect for my swing. At 70 I am getting it out there past 250 and while it is certainly mostly my swing, the Stealth2 HD/Ventus Velo Red gets some of the credit. Obviously you may not have the same results and your fitting should solidify which works best for you so good luck!

All right y'all, I need some advice!

Because my life is awesome like that sometimes, I find myself in possession of a $700 TaylorMade gift card. I have to use it on the TaylorMade website, but that's the only restriction. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to splash out for the latest and greatest driver, the Stealth 2 HD or get something a little cheaper (like the SIM2 Max) and upgrade my putter too.

For reference my current driver is a 10/12 year old Calloway HyperX; I hit it pretty well and any problems I have are because of my swing, not the club. Putter is whatever PowerBilt was selling in their sets circa 97/98.

Go somewhere and hit a stealth and a sim and determine if the additional gains warrant the additional price tag. If your putter is whatever then upgrade! A lot easier to shave 2-3 strokes via the short game than adding massive distance and accuracy with a driver. If your clubs are that old, anything will be an upgrade at this point. Might as well get multiple clubs while you can.

Gravity Fit TPro system.

Getting close to the offseason here and I wanted something I could do in my office or at the gym. I have some other golf-related exercise items (Planemate, Stability Sticks) that are too big or inconvenient to take to the gym.

Speaking of, I really should go through my training aid stash and get rid of anything I'm not using... Unfortunately, that's quite a bit of stuff. 🤣

I’d get the putter also. Two birds with one stone, and plenty of Tour players are still using the Sim, it’s a great driver.

This is exactly the kind of rock solid advice I was looking for when I posted. Many thanks for breaking it down succinctly.

I suspect that I'm going to go with the Sim and a new putter because I'm not struggling for distance off the tee.

I received an email from Snell tonight advertising a sale on balls.  With the ball factory fire news threatening supply and maybe pushing prices up, I thought I would stock up since the price was good.  The 5 dozen price for the Prime X was $125 including tax and shipping.  That is a pretty good ball for $25 / dz!!

Well, you can add another club to my growing pile. 🙂

I grabbed a used Taylormade Stealth+ Rocket 3 wood at 13.5*. With my high spin (off the heel) driver issues right now, this was something I've been toying with for a bit to help with a bit of a bridge until I can get my driver swing fixed. I hit my 3 wood very well and nice and straight. So a stronger one should get me out there farther than my piddly little 220 driver.

It's a little used, but I think for what I paid it's just fine. I can swap the shaft if I want and still be far less than others I looked at. I'm excited to see how she goes as I give it a go this weekend.

Had some weights from Billy bobs delivered today for my Driver (adding 4g to toe in hopes to try and tame my hook, move CG slightly and help with feel), 4w (adding 4g to try to get feel better) and UW (adding 6g to try and get better feel).

Coming soon will be some Rooster Rain gloves (Thanks @GolfSpy_APH for the sales pitch) and a range rooster that I need to replace as speed training and range work finally wore a hole into it.

Ordered my wife a set of Maltby M890 irons. I’m pretty confident the lighter and shorter shafts are going to really help her out. She’s getting ahold of her light-graphite shafted woods off the tee, just struggling with irons. She chokes up quite a bit on her current standard length set, and they are pretty darn heavy. Used the ping static fit chart, and she falls in -1” regular lie.

These arrived today, and I think they’re going to be perfect for her. She hit on the net for at least an hour trying a few of them out (something she’s never done before). We will try them out officially this weekend.

Some pictures of the 6 iron with a few comparing to her hand-me down set.

Edit: 6-PW, GW, & SW in the set
