I have a small Sunday bag for (club champion?) some days when it’s cpo that the handle fits in my bags club slot.  Can actually get 6-7 clubs in it.  Depends on who I’m playing with and the circumstances but very useful.

Looking at new drivers. Went into CC and couldn’t get a ball in the air. Fitter (Chris) said I think we need to reschedule. I agreed. 
 Chris was like, get a couple range sessions in maybe a lesson and then come back in. 
 

I went straight to XGolf since it was good Rainey day here and busted out some frustration. Something clicked and started hitting better shots that I think he could use. 
I'm going to take a lesson or 3 and then go back. 
 

that all said, we started with Ping 430 in a Alidia shaft. We tried another shaft that I didn’t pay attention to as I was struggling. 
not sure I liked the 430. 
 

 Even watching Ian Frazer and the driver competition. The srixon looked to be more accurate just not as long. I’m looking for accuracy first and doesn’t want more distance.

I suggest the Honma xp-1. Its a phenomenal driver with a great shaft that went from $600 to around $100 on ebay.

Strangely enough (guess I'm a strange dude) I have the clubs arranged from side to side .. not front to back .. so if you're looking at it from the top like the pic my woods would be on the left, irons and hybrids across the middle and wedges along the right.

Same club setup adapts to either push cart (most often) or riding cart.

Wound up at the brand new PGASS across town. Only been open for a week or two now. They had the OGIO, TM, Datrek, BagBoy, and the Titleist bag that were on my list plus a few more. So I lined them all up and did an evaluation on my criteria.

And because I'm impulsive, I didn't come home with any of these options; instead choosing a company with very little history, reviews, or accolades but a sexy little bag. Ever heard of KRADUL?

Well it checked off all the boxes and since no one would have a matching one, I scooped it up!

He's some shots. It leans on the luxury side but has all the functionality that I wanted and is still light weight.

Let's hope it lasts. Thanks for the recommendations. I took them seriously before the impulse purchase won out.

I’d love to hear some thoughts here if anyone has any. I’m currently thinking about putting new shafts in my irons. When I bought them about a year and a half ago I was a 20+ handicap and since then my swing speed has greatly increased and I’m down to a 8.3. 
 

I currently have the Elevate 95 stiff shafts in my irons 5-GW and they were GREAT when I got fit for them but now I fight a high sweeping draw and find myself feeling like I need to focus on slowing my transition to prevent that. My wedges I bought more recently and was fitted to a heavier shaft in the True Temper S400 stiff shafts and I have a lot more confidence in that feel and I know I can really go at the ball and not risk “losing the head”. Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations on shafts to try in my irons that is between the 98g of the Elavate 95s and the 132g weight of the S400?

I'd try both of those, and throw Modus 120 into the mix too.  Between the three you'll find a feel you prefer and can go from there!

Well I wouldn't ever buy a set of shafts with a recommendation but I would go demo a club with one in it as our swings are different and what I say I like could be horrible for you. Best thing is to hit up any place that has a fitter with manufacturers carts and try the shafts with data so you can tell what you want. The other thing I need to mention is if you went from a 20+ to an 8.5 in one year you may want to reconsider getting rid of what you have because that is an awesome feat to pull off and I only wish!!!!!

Theres a lot of good lighter shaft options in stiff like the Nippon Modus3 120 and the KBS Tour 120. I use the x100 120g shaft in my wedges and love them.

My hope is to get fitted for a new hybrid. Between my 2 hybrids and 4 iron I’m sure I can take those three clubs to 2!

Thanks for the recommendations guys! I definitely am going to hit these at an upcoming fitting. I’ve heard great things about the Project X LZ from others and I’ve actually hit them before and they didn’t work out but I’m going to circle back now with a bit more speed and hopefully consistency! I am wanting to upgrade my irons. I’m still hitting Titleist 990s. After3 back surgeries, not playing for the past 10 years, and swing speed dropping from 105 to 81 I’m not sure what I should get. I’m hitting my 7 a consistent 145-150 carry. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Strongly recommend last year's Ping G425  Taylormade Stealth Cobra Rad Speed  Callaway Mavrik  Titleist T300 and the reason I say last years is they will be 40 to 60% less and let's face it the tech doesn't increase several hundred dollars every year!! 3 to 400 more for an extra half a yard?? Nah. I switched into game improvements in the top half of my bag and most likely will go full set here in another year or so. It makes a huge difference and makes the game more enjoyable

Be cautious,  fitting can apply alot of factors that an app can only suggest and may not entail every aspect of your needs. (Such as shafts, lofts, lies, feel etc from in person fittings) may I ask what you think is wrong with your current setup)

I used the fitting for wedges just to see what it would come up with…it was close to what I came up with for the Vokey online fitting I did.  Still use my Vokey wedges and love them!

good morning, first off, nicely done going from a 20+ to an 8.3 index, great stuff. Do you have a goal for this year? 

Now that you are in single digit index you should go and get fitted for your iron shafts from a reputable fitter, they will give you the best option through technology then you will have to decide through feel. Personally I have the KBS stiff light in my Takomo irons and love them but they took about 4 weeks to get used to, and I think your new shafts will for you as well, more to figure out the kick point etc. 

Anyway good luck with the journey.

nice swing for what you are up against with 3 back surgeries. depending what you are looking for in an iron ie. distance, accuracy, both, you have lots of options available, for me when I was getting fit for new irons I found the shaft that felt best for me then moved on to what iron delivered my flight, distance and accuracy that I was happy with. 

I guess my only advice would be to take your time, find a fitter that you trust there are lots of options out there.

Thanks! I do have a fitting coming up and will try a few for sure I was more curious if there were some crowd favorites I should make sure to try! 
 

My goal for this year is to be sub 5. I have a friend that hovers in the 4.1-4-6 range and I’d like for us to be able to play a match straight up with no strokes.

As was pointed out there was a forum review done on the prior model.  I assume you were referring to Crossfield recent review…linked below for those who don’t want to search.   It is definitely a great tool for dialing in speed control and working on face angle control.   I still use mine regularly
