Had to cancel our trip to the beach this week due to the tropical storm in the Gulf that's supposed to hit. Today was the last day to cancel so had to make the choice. Kids cried, wife is pissed. Nothing I could do....

I'm having a hell-of-a time "liking" this post because I HATE the situation you're in Bud. It totally sucks being the Dad sometimes and getting stuck in the position of being the rat bastard that killed "super-happy-fun-time"..! But you just gotta go with your gut sometimes and be the "bad guy" every now and again. If possible, re-plan your adventure as soon as you can and that new excitement will instantly quell the bad juju going on now. Cheers and keep your chin up kid! Be confident you made the right decision...I am!

I'm having a hell-of-a time "liking" this post because I HATE the situation you're in Bud. That stinks. My cousin from North Dakota is at St. Pete beach for his honeymoon right now. Imagine coming down here like that from ND and getting nothing but rain.

Saturday a "casual" friend texts me and asks if they can come out to my course on Monday and play.   Of course they can, but what they are really asking is, "Can you hook me up"   So i get them my associate rate (about $35 less than our going rate)  at a prime time on a Holiday Monday.   

 

You can guess what happens from here, they no-show!  No text, no call, nothing.   Now it makes me look bad for holding a prime time at a discount rate for a group that doesn't post.

 

I swear I'm going to go out of the favor business....well except for my MGS friends, they would know much better!!

This happened pr-aruba...Pet hamster died.  Didn't want the vacation to be spoiled with sad kids so we said we sent it to a pet watching service.  The piper is due so to speak.  Told the kids that the pet service was letting the hamster out for exercise and it escaped.  Now I have to go and buy another one....

OK...The rant has moved from my friend to the Pro Shop.

 

I texted the friend to find out what happened and ask if they called to cancel the time (after all I know the pro shop has been known to say, I'll cancel it and then doesn't)  they said, we did check, in they couldn't find our name so they sent us out anyway.   I said oh that's good.   I asked how much they charged them, they told me $130, which is our full rate for 2 people.    I told him, his name was there clear as day on the tee sheet.   I apologized for the error and told them to come see me afterward and we'd fix it.

 

I went to the pro shop and saw they had a new guy in there, I asked what happened and our Assist pro came over and said the new guy just missed seeing their name didn't see my note about the rate, so he just rang them up regular rate and told them the starter would squeeze them in. 

 

Total mess up on the pro shops part in a couple ways, but I understand new people do make mistakes, but this one shouldn't have happened, I guess he got flustered with such a long line of people checking in (we have over 400 golfers today) and got rushed.

That sucks. My back is sore from all the framing I've been doing over the past 2 days and hauling wood up and through a window so the framing will not be finished today which sucks. I don't wanna lay on my back all day stretching but I guess I have to. Worst part of strongman and powerlifting in my younger years my body is destroyed before I'm 30.
