For certain I can tell the difference.

 

It all depends on the player. I've gone through a few this year. The Wilson FG Tour is a nice ball, the Bridgestone B330S is another good one.

 

I am about to try the Wilson Duo Urethane.

None of these will break the bank and are all good, Callaway Chrome Soft, Snell My Tour, Bridgestone 330 series balls, Wilson FG Tour,  Srixon Z series, TaylorMade TP5, Wilson Duo Urethane, Volvik Vibe, Vice Pro series.  As you can see the list is long and this is not all inclusive.  You might want to visit a big box store and buy a sleeve or two of which ever of these appeal to you.  If you know players with similar game to yours, try what he plays.  Good luck!

I just would say a low/mid capper would benefit from a urethane ball for mostly for ball control (spin)

I've started to play with the Snell ball. Comes off the club really well with good feel and playability. I've also played the Chrome Soft ball. Both good balls.

Been playing the Snell tour ball for about a year. Great performance and there's usually a buy 6 dozen get a % discount that nets out to $28ish a dozen.

I just got done testing the bridgestone E6 soft. another great ball that is fairly inexpensive..
