On another note, your school plays Towson tomorrow night.   Can they avoid the dubious distinction of a season ending upset of monumental proportions, followed by a season opening one.   Can you imagine the out cry in C'Ville if they were to lose back to back to two Baltimore area Mid Majors!!    it's fun to think what could happen!

You must remember, things and times have changed since my tenure in Charolettsville.   Back in my day, there would have been no out cry, just the need for an additional keg.   Again, back in my day, it was important that we remained one of the nation's top party schools.   Based on discussions with recent grads a lot of activities that I thought always would be tradition, ain't no more.

I work with a UVA grad, class of 2013.  Four local friends have sons who graduated from UVA this past May.  All five have told me the best "activities" were political in nature and rarely involved alcohol. 

We live in a different world!

Yep, it does seem that things are different.   I guess it could be said that campus life is more sobering in more than one context.   When someone old or young says to me did you see where my school was listed as one of the nation's top party schools and I didn't see UVA, that hurts me more than losing any athletic event.

In talking to these five young men, it seems having various forms of coffee centered around political dialogue is their idea of "a fun evening."

If my Hoos were to lose to Towson, after what Pittsburgh did to my household this weekend, believe me, I can handle it with grace and sportsmanship.   My Hoos lost to Pitt and when my wife got home from the game, yesterday, she was not a happy camper.    My younger brother is a Towson grad, only at the time, it was Towson State.  Hey, I'm a Wahoo and a Redskins fan, I know how to lose with grace and dignity.

I think they are safe this time.  Towson lost 9 players from last years team, and have 6 freshman that are expected to contribute a lot.   they have no idea what's in store for them with that defense!!   Of course people said the same thing last March about UMBC

I don’t cheer for UK often, but tonight I was as even though the ranking had UK at 2, Duke was a better team. I cheer for the underdog. I was REALLY wanting Duke to take it on the chin....

Yeah. I watched the Towson/UVA game and it went pretty much as I expected.

And yes UMBC couldn't pull off another Cinderella story. But I like what I see of some off their new players and think they will be fine.

Good to see Duke get brought down a bit. They are very good, but they are Freshman, and apparently they can be beat.
