Suggestion on graphite iron shafts

Looking for a reasonable regular flex shaft for my irons. Not trying to spend more than $40 a club. It will be attaching to a set of callaway xr steelhead iron heads I picked up off eBay for about $5 per head. Going with win grips. Thanks in advance. I am planning on seeing a fitter next year to get new clubs. This set only needs to last untill around may.

steelhead 9°, rbz 5w, ping awr 2 bc irons, isi irons, or nike vapor irons, cleveland 52°, 58°, 64° 2 ball putter.

Not much to go on since we don’t know the profile or weight class you need. I would suggest recoil since they have lots of different shaft types and you can find pulls readily. Yes, if you are only going to use them for about 6 months find a used set. Look at Mikes Golf Outlet, they seek
Used shafts and I have bought from them in the past.

I haven't played in 5 years due to auto accident and surgery. So I know my swing and strength is going to be completely different. Prior to accident I used xstiff true temper shafts. With 7i club speed around 110 right around 175yds with my blades. Since I haven't played in years or even been allowed to exercise other than physical therapy I am just looking for basic regular flex easy to hit something that won't destroy my back if I catch it a little fat.

I would still suggest recoil shafts. But any would be okay. Xcaliber would be another shaft to consider; they are discussed on here and other forums as being a good shaft. Based on your description, just find something in your price range and you will be fine. Just make sure you get the right tip size for the irons.

According to the GolfWorks OEM Shaft Replacement Guide for Callaway, the Steelhead XR irons take a .370 tip shaft.  That means the relatively inexpensive Maltby shafts are in play.  They sell the Maltby MPF Pro shaft, at 75 grams, for $19.99 per shaft.

If you can live with 69g iron shafts, there's always the Acer iron shafts.  They're $12 each at Value Golf (I'm just a customer, no affiliation),  come in R/S combo flex.  I've used these in A/L flex for my wife's irons.

If those are too light, I think the Recoils already mentioned may be your best bet.
