Popular Post ILMgolfnut
Good morning Spies! In Charlotte this morning; heading home noonish after one patient. Hit 100 balls last night and then some putting practice on the bumpiest green I've ever seen, aerated or not. Had better distance with my irons and better speed control with my DF 2.1, so encouraged by that. Typically when I leave town for one of my jaunts around NC, I leave my car at the rental place. Can't do that any more at the one closest to the Casa, which I prefer to use when I can. I guess I don't prefer it any more. Have to get back there before 6 pm when they close so they can give me a ride home, or call Uber, one of the two. (GF is not currently a licensed driver.) Popular Post Steve F
Good morning MGS Nation! What a last couple of days.... Yesterday at noon, my boss approached me and asked if I had my clubs on hand... check. Do you want to go and play at River Downs? .... oh HELL yeah! Then get ready, we have a 1320 tee time... incredible! What a lunch surprise! We played a scramble, which was fun: the only caveat I had was I needed to play my putts all the way through: data collection for the Black Mamba. And man... on course putting was much better! 18 holes and no 3 putts, that has never happened before! More about the putting in the L.A.B. thread... but I have to say: putts were finally falling from in close and several from some distance! Could NOT complain at all about the putting. Tonight, it's pickleball with the much better half, which is always a blast and some great exercise! Then tomorrow morning, off to Lancaster and the US Womens Open... then Sunday 18 with the gang. As long as the weather holds, which the weatherperson says it should, it's shaping up to be a great weekend! I hope all you Kingsmillers are having a blast! Played with and against some great senior golfers... Finished playing at 330, had a bite to eat with the boys then jumped in the car to catch the 6PM ferry from Victoria to Vancouver, drove to my hometown of Mission last night, playing with my High School golf team for a practice round today at 845 PST at the 9 hole course my dad helped design in 1960. He was a dentist by trade but an avid golfer... Then saturday and sunday is the Mission Amateur which I 1st played in 49 years ago when I was 16... always fun to come home and always a great trip down memory lane... tdc1
Good beautiful morning, everyone! A.ready got the weekend shopping done. Quiet time on the back “veranda” with coffee and the dog (aka, She Who Must Hunt). Hornets seem to have been deterred from burrowing into the 4x4s, and chipmunks have (mostly) relocated to the perimeter fencing — doesn’t stop SWMH from trying to get them but at least she hasn’t repeated the ceremonial dropping of the dead chipmunk at my wife's feet (or, the “See what I brought you aren’t I a good girl” routine). Tee time this afternoon, light wind, high of 75°. Have a great weekend!
