We live on the west coast of Vancouver Island, in Sooke BC. Our strata has 91 owners and probably 30-35 percent use the immenities. Outdoor pool, hot tub and gym, pretty much right on the ocean.

thanks, we were advised that a pod of Killer Wales was in the Sooke Basin yesterday, rare but they do come in from the Straight of Juan de Fuca once in a while, unfortunately we were in victoria so missed the show...

Hey everyone!  I'm really considering getting a broomstick putter. I kinda messed around with my putter and tried using it like a broomstick putter and I felt like I was more accurate.  My concern is dropping down at least $100 bucks to try it out. The closest golf galaxy is about a hour away and I don't even know if the testing I'd do there would be enough for me to feel comfortable getting one.  I have some questions I was wondering I could get some help with. 

1. Have you tried a broomstick putter and how did you like it? 
2. How do I know what's a good length to get for one? 
3. Would I be able to convert a putter to a broomstick? I want to eventually get the Odyssey Ai Putter
4. Any other advice. 

Really appreciate your help on this.

Happy Friday to all on a beautiful day in Chicago. Went to the PGA Tour Superstore last night to pick up my regripped irons and get some sim practice in. New grips feel great and so does the swing. All I could ask for going into a golf-filled weekend.

Before leaving the store, I decided I wanted to try and find a new pair of navy golf shorts (don't love my current pair). Found a pair on the discount rack, tried them on, fit perfect. Bought them instantly and returned home only to realize... I'm fairly certain these are women's shorts  no belt loops, they fasten on the opposite side, and have a bit of elastic in the waistband. But hey, they were 60% off and fit me great. Also you definitely can't tell unless you saw the tag inside, so I'm keeping them!

My brother-in-law @Swood1994 arrives early tomorrow morning for our voyage to Erin Hills Sunday. Will be tidying up the house today and getting everything ready for a a great weekend ahead.

Morning all! After a very, very long day we're basically all moved into the new house (I'll have to do one more trip tomorrow, because the logistics of transporting 130ish bottles of whisky is not an easy task). Currently enjoying the 1 bottle I did bring with me, and eating pizza off the top of a moving box

No idea why I'm up and about now .. met a friend for happy hour yesterday and got back home, and to bed, fairly late...

May try to hit some golf balls later, and continue my inquiries into extricating myself from that club. It's gotten quite busy there and an looking at another club that seems to be much quieter, ie easier to go play golf! TBD.

@Fongle Congrats!! on the new home and how you guys get settled in quickly. Looking forward to pics of the new backyard short game area

Good morning everyone! We made it to the weekend which hopefully means golf for everyone! It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend with great temperatures and sunshine. I'm getting ready to head to the course and play some guys for $5 a piece. Hopefully, I walk out of there a few dollars richer. The rest of my weekend will be filled with grad school, so I'm going to soak in the golf this morning.

Morning All,

Yesterday was a little hectic at work, but also got a call from a program I am trying to get into since I’m retiring. Highly competitive program for military members that helps you network, get your name out in the areas you are interested in for work, and gives you a mentor/coach along the way. It’s so competitive that you need two letters of recommendation, your own resumé, and set up an interview with one of the top people at the program. So yesterday I did my work, but was also having to find two people that I knew who could write letters of recommendation for me. Then putting travel info in for my trip to Peru in October. That took way longer than needed, but I’m good to go for that now. Today I’m going to be spending it with the wife since we both have the day off and I got back from my visit Tuesday. Haven’t been able to spend a lot of time with her since then due to work. No golf today, but we are going to see one of our favorite local musicians this evening at the Virginia Beer Company. Hope everyone has a great day.

Headed to the airport shortly to pickup @Swood1994 for a fun weekend ahead. Tee time this morning at one of my favorite local tracks. Should be a good warmup for Erin Hills tomorrow as they both advertise themselves as "inland links courses." 

This afternoon we're headed to the new Guinness Open Gate Brewery, which I believe is the only one in the states. My wife and I have been wanting to go for a while, so this weekend seemed like a great excuse.

It’s been rainy again here in Wisconsin, but today looks like it should clear off. The wife and I are taking the boys (6 & 2) to the zoo today. Hopefully be able to get some time on the range (or maybe even play 9) when we get back to town.

Good morning everyone! 

It's starting off as a beautiful morning here but like @rkj427, there's rain in the forecast. I know this because my phone keeps refreshing the notification every time I clear it. 

Right now I'm trying to drink some coffee while having to satisfy the pet pile in my lap with pets while also typing. It's a satisfying way to start out the morning and I wouldn't trade it for anything. 

I had a good range session yesterday and hopefully figured out some things that I can take to the course next week. It's been so hot here the last week that just swinging a club released a good shot of the feel good chemicals from my brain. 

@Fongle I'm glad you got everything moved in, you've got the worst part over so now you can enjoy being a homeowner. 

@TJ Hall I hope you and the family enjoy time together at Busch Gardens.

@Wheelieb it sounds like it's been crazy for you lately and I hope you and your wife enjoy the time together this evening. 

@Swood1994 and @Byrnzee I hope y'all hit them well and enjoy getting to hang out.

A good morning to all.  A very wet and rainy day here. A good day to finish the L.A.B DF3 final review or maybe master the art of doing nothing. Still recovering from yesterday helping my step daughter move. My wife and I got sucked in by “oh I don’t have that much stuff to move, only a few things”.  Two truckloads later …...  I should know better. Have a great day.

Good morning everyone. Busy morning getting to head to Lake of the Ozarks for our family vacay. I’m leaving tomorrow since one of my kids has baseball games today and tomorrow. That leaves me time to get caught up on the Fujikura testing thread. Lots of data to parse through and narrative to write. I’m hitting the sim later this morning to get some more data as well. Should be a busy day what the house empty so be watching the Ventus testing thread.

Good morning spies! Have a round with the VGA this morning or actually this afternoon. I don’t tee off till 12:36. It’s in Colorado at Collindale. This will be the first time I’ve played this course. Not very excited for some reason. I’m kinda tired of competing. But I have the state tournament tomorrow at the same course. Not overly excited about that either. This isn’t a bad thing, I’ve been evaluating my reasons for competing. I think I’m just tired of it. I love golf and love the people I meet. I love the casual play. So don’t feel sad about this post. I’m at a crossroads and feel like it’s time for a change. I’m not sad or disappointed. I think we all eventually come to this fork in the road. Hope you all have a great day on the course today! Good morning from somewhere in the air between Atlanta and Baltimore, Spies! Bladder saved me from missing my 6 a.m. flight; phone went dead overnight despite being plugged in and took my alarm with it. But the need to go got me up only 5 minutes late. Gotta scramble from the airport to our site in Baltimore; event starts at noon and I may be unavoidably late.

Nothing golf wise for me today, alas. For those who can, hit 'em straight and putt straighter!
