Popular Post ILMgolfnut
Good morning Spies! The Newton shaft testers, including me, have received their emails to set up a virtual fitting. Stuff is about to get real... Went outside once last night to look for the aurora. Too many city lights, I suspect. Nice pics @Rob Person. They said it might be visible in Alabama and it sure was! Speaking of Alabama, nice pics from RTJ! @Shankster I took a few tumbles in my running days but never needed stitches. Hope Mrs. Shankster recovers quickly. Got my test scores back. Better, but not good enough. Can retake in December. Go back on the road Monday for four days. Hoping to work a round of golf into the trip. I was hoping I'd have my Newton by then but seriously doubt that will be the case, so testing will begin at the end of next week. Have a great Friday, hit 'em straight and putt 'em straighter! Popular Post William P
Good Friday morning Spies! A good start to the day with a good hot cup of coffee on the back porch. hope this weather lasts a bit before jumping into colder morning temps. Thoughts and prayers remain with those affected by Milton. @Shankster hope the boss is feeling better this morning, although I imagine today will feel worse than the actual event. @Wheelieb, looking forward to seeing some pictures from your trip. It sounds awesome! @Byrnzee enjoy the outing with @Indy_Oz this weekend. Great pictures @fixyurdivot! The RJT trail is an awesome series of courses that everyone should play if the opportunity presents itself. Enjoy the outing with @Rob Person today! My last 12 years working were in a position where we were "Guilty Until Proven Innocent" and doing the work entailed to make your point or reasoning can be challenging, but it is very rewarding when you are able to do so. Best to you in whatever decision you make! I think I'm going to make the move. In talking with my therapist we're hitting on the fact that for purpose I seek either personal validation or knowledge quests with also focusing on experiences for a sense of belonging. Apparently our appeals department is much more collaborative than Family Court, which admittedly feels very high schoolish from time to time. It might be better for me to focus on minutiae and keep my brain firing, instead of the emotional weight and baggage that is necessary in every family court case. Popular Post Swood1994
Good morning, everyone! Quite a bit on my plate at the moment. Popular Post EnderinAZ
Good morning spies and welcome to day 17 of record breaking or record tying heat in Mesa. Yesterday my thermometer said it was 106 when I returned from my 38 mile ride. I was looking to get 40 to 45 miles, but I reached the halfway point of my water and turned around. I do not enjoy riding the last 5 miles or so without any water left. With the golf courses closed I have my ebike charging and if the wife has nothing she needs done I will take off again this afternoon. I retired my Claw Pro White glove after Monday's round. What a great testing opportunity and an outstanding hot weather glove. Somewhere around 85 rounds of golf in 100+ degree temperatures. I would blow through 3 Costco Kirkland gloves in that time frame and heat. Popular Post Jim Shaw
16 hours ago, fixyurdivot said: Bottom of the pot spies . Late to the party, but hey, someone has to be out golfing . Today we played "The Judge" at Capital Hill... and the Judge done judged, convicted, and sentenced us . This course does not do it's slope and rating justice IMO. Stroke robbing trouble lurks in many spots. We're seriously befuddled with and chuckling at the ratings on some of these courses (we can have that discussion at another time). Hole #1. I had a FIR and GIR... and a 3 putt . Hole #11 from the black tee... as if the distance and odd alignment towards a marsh isn't enough. Yes, that's looking towards the hole . Even our tees offered a little pucker factor. We both had an FIR and GIR... and 3 putted . Loved the "Spanish Moss" and water... lots and lots of water. This picture does not do justice to how challenging this par 3 is... a brute. The tee is back over top where Mike is walking. The tips are off to the right through another peek-a-boo hole in the trees. #18... mercifully. The Judge sentenced me to a 43/45... my worst score of the trip and as close to a 90 as I've seen in over a year. Yesterday we played Ross Bridge. Wow, just wow... quite a complex and really breathtaking. The acreage used for these courses is incredible. There were non play areas the size of a football field between some of the holes. Except for today, I think my scores have been about what I expected. 83 at Ridge, 84 at Valley, and 83 at Ross Bridge. The putting has been very tough and we've both had 3-4 three putts/round. The cups are knife-edge sharp. If you don't get a healthy 60% of the ball inside the diameter, it's unlikely they'll fall in. Overall, putting has been our biggest challenge. They say one can figure on shooting 2-3 strokes worse when playing a course for the first time. That seems a little conservative, but I'll roll with it. great post.. love the pictures, courses look very challenging BIG STU, fixyurdivot, cksurfdude and 12 others 15 Quote committed to performance excellence

She slept on the couch to keep it straight, I have a feeling it is going to be a long few days for her. Crutches to keep from bending if. Popular Post RichL85
Morning all. Busy morning of quiet here in the office. After Milton, the main office in Florida remained closed for most of the week, so it's been very quiet from over there. Not that I mind, but it's different. Finishing up some work this morning, then I've got some sim time scheduled before the gym today. I keep checking the status updates to see if I'm going to get out of reporting for jury duty on Monday, but no updates so far. That is really messing with my planning for next week. Went ahead and took a second interview this morning as well for a position that would require another relocation. I doubt the wife would be happy about the prospect of moving again, but I suppose it doesn't hurt to see what's out there. cksurfdude, BIG STU, sirchunksalot and 12 others 15 Quote Driver: Titleist GT3 w/ GD Tour AD VF 6S (Testing in progress) 3 & 5 Woods: Titleist GT3 w/ GD Tour AD VF 7S (Testing in progress) Hybrids: 19 and 22 degree PXG 0317XF Gen 4 w/ Project X Evenflow Riptide 80g Irons: 5-PW PXG 0311P Gen 4 w/ KBS Tour 120 Wedges: Indi 50 FLX, 54 FLX, 58 ATK w/ KBS Wedge 610 (Official Review) Putter: PXG Battle Ready Blackjack, 36.5”, Double Bend neck Titleist GT Long Game Testing
Popular Post ILMgolfnut
Now that the shot has calmed my shoulder down, I'm wanting to get back into Fit For Golf. I emailed Mike Carroll for suggestions of a good specific exercise for my shoulder problem and he provided 4 good options, along with continuing to work on range of motion. So today, I have done three sets of two of those exercises, along with 2.25 miles on the treadmill for some cardio/calorie burning. May get some swings this afternoon, possibly in the form of a Rypstick workout, followed by a full FFG this evening. Edit: Rypstick completed. Managed to average 90 in the speed portion, 1 mph better than my last session in September. Not too bad for having babied the shoulder for a while. Popular Post Rickp
Good Morning/Evening & late Friday. Long day after my never friend Milton went thru. Almost everyone on our street had something like a micro burst went thru. Spent the day helping neighbors with the crap debris and shingles. I lost approximately 15 caps which is really nothing but some neighbors lost 1/2 their roofs. Some palms down and loads of debris. My SIL in CT and Gdaughter @ Providence College sent us pix of Northern Lights very impressive. Helped a friend out in another part of TV who was partially flooded. Cut my grass after I blew all the leaves/grass/debris into the yard bagged it and into the garbage recycling pickup. Long day kinda felt my age but it what it is. There’s a lot of folks who’ve really got it tough in the southern states and I really feel for them. Going to bed and get up when I feel like it. Goodnight everyone. Almost forgot, the roof, construction guys were everywhere today all of them ready to help us!! What a crock all had really well crafted documents for our insurance companies. They really my nerves. No, didn’t sign anything but a few of neighbors did. I’m considerably more cautious than a lot of people. He's a great guy and I'm glad we were able to meet-up. Today's round concludes our week of RTJ Trail golf for and we really had a great time. I would highly recommend this venue to others . That Franken Cart looks even better in full golf course mode. Yep that project was a lot like some things I have done in the past. He did get my mind going on this project. I do not fish but I am thinking on trying to build a fishing cart version of it during the winter. My neighbor across the street owns a local bait and tackle store. I may build a "Franken Fishing Cart" and see if I can sell it. On pull carts I did have a 60s Bag Boy. I had salvaged it off the scrap pile at work. One winter I went all the way through it polishing it up and repacking the wheel bearings and stuff. I used it a few times when I was able to walk. It had set a while in the building across the street. When we were clearing out that building in January I had it out and cleaned it up. Some guy driving by saw it and wanted it so I sold it to him for $35. I can tell a funny story involving that cart if you guys want me to Edited October 12 by BIG STU Banana Fingers strikes again gingerbeast87, Northern Monkey, ZJeb67 and 12 others 13 2 Quote Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex- - 7W TM V-Steel UST Pro Force Gold 65R---- Irons 5 thru PW 1980 Macgregor VIP Hogan Apex steel shafts--- SW -- Cleveland 588 56* S-400 Sensicore --- LW Vokey 58* SM5 L grind--- Putter 1997 Scotty Cameron Santa Fe Fluted Bulls Eye shaft--- Bag TM Flex Lite Stand---- Yeah I know only 11 clubs G
Popular Post BIG STU
16 minutes ago, Northern Monkey said: Morning all. Loving all the pics of the Northern Lights. Has been too much cloud cover here for us to see any. Got a tee time booked for this afternoon so I can post for the VCT stableford competition. Not much else planned so betting the Boss will come up with stuff for me to do. Hope you all enjoy your weekend and it involves golf You will like this. I have a good friend of mine who is originally from England but has been in the US some 35 years now. He was part of the 3rd Shootout team a few years back. He is not really a good golfer but knows the game. He has always taken it as being somewhat wealthy but does not act like it. He is a computer whiz and does that type of stuff now. He has a vast knowledge of golf both new and old school. He has also played a lot of Bucket List courses in Europe. We carry on all the time because I understand his British wit being around some of those guys in my Mini Tour days. He loves the way I go about the game with my shot creations. He says my game would adapt well over there. Sadly his wife passed about a month ago. Per her request there was no service or visitation. He called Thursday night and wanted me to play this Saturday's shootout with that old team. I told him I would. Our other friend Jay Bird called and asked the same thing. I said why not? Since the game is rigged from the get-go we do not have a chance of winning and we know that. We are just going to cut up and have fun and I can experiment some on shots. LOL it will be a blast. Popular Post Rob Person
Good Saturday morning spies! Getting ready to head to GC duties. Had an absolute blast yesterday! While I wasn't able to get a tee time matched up with Bill and Mike, we did get to spend some time together before and after our respective rounds. (Lordy knows I tried to finagle one together!) @fixyurdivot is both great company and a good person to interact with! I did manage to secure a tee time for myself last minute thankfully though. (Wasnt going to waste the opportunity after a 3 hour drive) I played The Judge! Man that's a brutal course! Barely scraped by an 89. Here is a quick recap of the course practice areas, and highlights of my round and meetup. Popular Post sirchunksalot
Good morning everyone! I'm just getting my day started and making an attempt at posting between sipping on my coffee and giving the fur babies some love. It's a perfect way to start the morning. I tried getting on the course yesterday but both were too crowded to walk on as a single. The course closest to me house had a tournament going on and the other was getting all the attention of every other golfer in Bradley County. I usually don't have issues in the evening but today was the perfect storm. I was able to hit a small bucket and was pleased with how well I was striking the ball. @fixyurdivot thank you for posting about your trip to this region of the country and I hate you and @Rob Person couldn't get on the course for the same tee time. It sounds like y'all still had a really good time and I'm glad you were able to meet up. I don't have any major plans for early in the day but the family and I are going out this evening to eat some Chinese food. My wife is stressed out about the spot on her arm and was supposed to get the biopsy results back yesterday and didn't. I thought going to get favorite restaurant might help brighten her weekend and I'm all about making her happy. I couldn't ask for anyone better to have sharing this crazy life with. I hope each and every one of you have a wonderful weekend! cksurfdude, Josh Parker, EasyPutter and 13 others
Popular Post cksurfdude
Good weekend morning all!! Looks like it's gonna be a nice day here, clear and mild already trying to break thru 60. Maybe a home project or two I wanna take care of; and/or maybe a little golf time. See how my honey feels after she gets back from some more dental torture. Otherwise maybe hit the range and try to get some usable swing vids for the Newton Motion driver shaft virtual fitting (shameless product plug ). Hope all are doing good, feeling good and have something good and fun on tap for their weekend! Enjoy the day!! EasyPutter, Rickp, RichL85 and 15 others 18 Quote WITB of an "aspiring" play-ah...
