Popular Post MattWillGolf
Good morning Spies, Up early to feed Miss Maisie. This girl attacks food and water. She eats with such gusto! it’s a mild day in CNY. Got update from PXG my new driver is ready for shipping! Not much on tap for today. Maisie isn’t much of a walker. She heads out takes care of business and is ready to head back home. It’s a big change from our Riley. We’d be out for an hour and a half or more and cover 2 to 3 miles. Not a blistering pace but he’d get his sniffs in for sure. @Girldad18 glad to hear things while not conclusive are moving in the right direction for your daughter. Popular Post tdc1
Mornin’, y'all! I'm not sure it is possible to get a better cup of coffee than the coffee in the waiting room at your local QuickLane while getting an oil change and tires rotated. Yum! I forgot to post this story yesterday. Tuesday was raining and cold so I decided to hit some balls on the simulator at my course before meeting some buddies for bowling. The night before I had cooked steak dinner for my wife and I, and the leftover steak was going to be my lunch (I bowl at 1:00 so I figured I munch on a sandwich while hitting balls at Noon). Because I was going right from the house to the course, I simply wrapped the sandwich in a paper towel and put it in the open side pouch of my Sunday bag (right above the plastic bag in photo below). Then, things went wrong. I left my golf bag inside by the garage door while I went outside for a minute or two. When I got back inside, the dog, Lil Miss Who-Me? (aka, Princess Butter-wouldn’t-melt-in-My-Mouth) had decided I didn’t need that sandwich more than she did. She had eaten one slice of bread, a slice of cheese and half the steak when I found her — perfectly positioned over the paper towel so as not to get any crumbs on the floor. She was not pleased to be interrupted but was perfectly okay with me having to settle for a plain cheese sandwich for lunch. Oh, and she was so sneaky that my wife, sitting less than 10’ away, had no idea what was going on. And I lost 75¢ bowling. Popular Post Wheelieb
Morning All, While today is my duty day and I will dog the 4 day weekend, I am reminded that I requested this day because I know people have families and children the want to do stuff with this weekend. That's not saying I don't have a family, but only having a spouse and no children I felt it was important for those who are junior to me have that opportunity to spend a long weekend with their family. It was something I wasn't afforded when I was a junior enlisted person 17, 18, 19 years ago. Anyway, hoping to be out of work in order to catch the community call today on my drive home. Popular Post Big moose
Good morning all, well it's back to reality vacation is over. At least this year we didn't get flooded out one time the whole month of March. Celebrated my birthday at a place called Out of Africa, you ride around in this open bus and the animals come up to the bus. They gave you a piece of grass to feed the giraffe when he stuck his head in, really fun place. Played golf 4 times didn't do too bad broke 90 every time with a low round of 83. The last course we played coyote trails was the tightest course I ever played, it's a 9 hole course so we played twice, it was in really nice shape for 45.00. I missed a hole in one by 4 inches there, but I also lost 4 golf balls, that was the only course I lost any. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Popular Post Erin B
Good morning MGS Troops!!! What a glorious morning!!! Yesterday was blah, a lame humpday. I do thank G*D for all my days but yesterday was full of wind and stress. Today we see a surgeon for the spousal unit. Not really ready but we must do what has to be done and this is happening rapidly. The radiologist caught the “C” very early so we’re blessed for that. The spousal unit has been extremely positive, although I know she’s stressed. This poopy was fixed yesterday and got her teeth cleaned and finally ate this morning. That’s a stress relief because she’s one of the calmest weens we’ve ever had. She’s a support poopy for the spousal unit! I have to tell you, this group is my support poopy! Love you guys and am blessed to be a part of it. I’m kinda giddy right now too. I woke up looking at the ceiling fan and had a calmness come over me. That also makes me gushy and glad. I’m hopeful to play a practice round today depending on the outcome of today’s visit. The spousal unit has insisted I practice before Saturday’s VGA event. She’s the best and I don’t know what I’d do without her. We’ve been through so much over the last 25+ years. She supported me through college and the military, raised our kids when I was gone. She’s getting a huge surprise on our anniversary come October. I just wouldn’t be the person I am without her. She makes me a better man (not trying to sound cliche). I love her with all of my heart. Do you ever look back and wonder what you’d do differently? I have, and I wouldn’t change a thing save treating her better and building a higher pedestal for her. But wouldn’t change anything else. Wow! I’m rambling… sorry ‘bout that, just feeling positive and loved! G*D bless you all and love the day! As we say in Wyoming, “Live every day with courage!” Have a glorious Thursday and happy birdie hunting!!! Wyo out!!! Popular Post ILMgolfnut
Good morning Spies! On my job we have a uniform of sorts (basically scrubs with the company logo embroidered on it); wearing it is encouraged but not mandatory. Dug through my bag last night in the hotel to get ready for this morning. ID, check. Scrub pants, check. Scrub top, uhhhhhh. No scrub top. Forgot to pack it. And the only other shirt I have is a golf shirt embroidered with the logo of my Scottish club. So that's what I'm wearing to work today. Before the excavation of my bag, got in another pre-Fit For Golf workout at the hotel. They didn't have much in the fitness room, but they did have a full set of dumbbells, which is not always the case. They'll have one 25 lb bell and one 10 lb instead of sets of two. I suspect if any rest time is built in to FFG, it will be easier than what I'm doing now, which is going through seven different exercises with no rest whatsoever other than the few seconds to grab a different dumbbell. Popular Post Dead Solid Bogey
Good morning MGS; Thursday is here, ready or not. Might of made a mistake yesterday while engaging in my indentured servant’s duties. Picked up the “ Vermin Protection Rod “ ( old 5 iron ) and gave it a go. Had a hard time keeping my right hand on the club the entire swing. Quit after 3-4 attempts. Both hands and wrists let me know that I had better not try anything like that again… at least for awhile. Work next week is going to be interesting, hopefully not painful or embarrassing. Those making the Community Call Therapy Session; enjoy and if possible post the Cliff’s Note version for the rest of us. I need to find a bigger fan though as I get a little "frothy" after the 30 minutes and it's uncomfortable to do that 4x a day as well as sit and work in-between sessions. I'll just have to figured something out. Although it'll be helpful once we get the fan up in the office replacing the ugly ceiling light. Popular Post Dcfrench3
Good Morning everyone! I just recently joined the forum and am glad to be apart of the community. I've always loved to golf but could never really go as I didn't have much money growing up or in college. When I graduated from college and got my first job I started going when I could afford it. I've been continuously upper my frequency every year even to my wife dismay. The last 3 months I've really upped my game. I got tired of not doing great on the course (usually just went to have a great time and enjoy the fresh air) and started doing drills and practice swings a few times a week. It's winter where I am and the courses haven't opened up long enough for me to see if I've made any improvement in my game. I did get to go to a TopGolf the other day and man o man is amazing what doing some drills and practicing form can do for your swing. I still slice with my driver but man can I launch it when I make good contact. I won a square game during superbowl and was able to use that money to purchase the new Callaway Ai Driver. When I was getting fitted I was averaging around 250 yards a hit. I got another kid coming so taking lessons is going to be much further down the road but I can't wait until I can get some lessons to really fine tune my game Javs, ParFore74x, MattWillGolf and 13 others 12 4 Quote Golfing is to focus yet not focus on your shot at the same time. Popular Post johngschulz
Morning MGS crew. Some exciting stuff on the horizon. First and foremost, the Ping S159 wedges are arriving at the testers, mine will be here early next week! The initial pictures of the unboxings look amazing so far from the other testers. This weekend I’m going town to Tampa to be with the in-laws this Easter weekend. We’re flying Southwest down and I am bringing a backup set down to keep in my MIL’s garage for when we visit, now I have one less excuse not to get some Florida golf in. The first couple of days I’ll be on the beach so might get some sand shot practice in. Monday I’ll be playing with Katie’s aunt at her community course. I had a bit of a debate on which of my backup irons to bring down. I got a set of circa 90-91 Hogan Edge GS to restore earlier this year with the hopes of keeping them in Florida. My old irons were the 2016 Callaway XR. Ultimately I fell in love with the Hogans as my go to range irons as their profile better matches my Maltby DBM gamers, and I’ll be sending the XRs down. Here’s the full bag I’m bringing down: Edited March 28 by johngschulz Byrnzee, Dead Solid Bogey, rkj427 and 12 others 15 Quote Currently testing Ping S159 Wedges!
