Popular Post EnderinAZ
Good morning spies! Temps are creeping up here in Mesa. Should be close to 90 today and could reach 100 by next Monday when my brothers from Minnesota arrive for a visit. There will be early bedtimes as we will need to be on the road in the wee hours of the mornings so they can see the beauty of the Sonora desert while avoiding the heat of the Sonora desert. See the surgeon this morning. He will ask when I want it done and I will answer with 'this afternoon'. But it will be up to the schedulers in the back office. 13 minutes ago, GolfSpy_KFT said: Still trying to work my way through my case of the shanks. Spent a good amount of time on the driving range yesterday and felt like I maybe made a little bit of progress, but the miss is still consistently well in the heel. Don't discount the emotional, habitual connection to that swing. Every time you feel that little electric jolt of disgust (usually an injection of cortisol -fight or flight brain chemical) as you see the ball leap off the club in the wrong direction you are telling your habit central (Basal Ganglia part of the brain) that the shank swing is what you want to keep and use. That's why the shanks are so hard to get rid of! Put all of your non-shank swing in the forefront of your mind. Not just the contact part. Then every time you hit a non-shank shot give yourself a big mental high five. The big mental high five releases a little dopamine into your system. The dopamine takes that swing that you have been fully focusing on and copies it from your conscious mind (prefrontal cortex) into your habit central. It is hard work. It is exhausting work, but it will make the shanks go away and stay away. Popular Post Michael.Sandoval33
Good morning spies! Up and ready to tackle the day. A little annoyed this morning, one reason is completely my fault and the other, well, not so much. The shaft I ordered to fit in the Qi10 Max is going to take over two weeks before it is even shipped! This is entirely my own annoyance because as a madman with a bank account, I ordered without reading the print on the website that clearly stated this would happen on special orders (I am shortening the shaft through them) so, good job Michael Second, started my sociology class last night and one gentleman in particular is quite annoying throughout the entire online session. Having to chime in with a comment over voice chat and constantly writing "lol" to everything the teacher says in the text chat which gives off a constant "BUNG!" every time, for 4 1/2 hours straight. I can only imagine how he would be in a non-virtual class environment, constantly with his hand up asking the teacher why the sky is blue and such. Well, after that rant I am in need of some coffee and breakfast. I hope everybody has a great Tuesday! I can’t seem to get caught up reading the new posts in this thread; I read a few and more get posted… I need to read faster I guess. Got a few chores around the house after my morning exercises; two sprinkler valves need work, one is leaking and one has a bad solenoid. Popular Post Wib081
Good morning MGS! Currently build a spreadsheet to track fiber optic light levels for a build we have going, and let me tell you it’s less than thrilling. I made it to the range yesterday and it went meh. I was tired when I got there and me and the swing never seemed to sync up. However the practice green was a different story altogether. I spent about an hour on it and managed to have a great session with chips pitches and flops! The TP5 is really performing quite well there and that was an are I wanted to test thoroughly. Popular Post ronnieg
Good morning spies! In case you've missed my previous posts, I'm still trying to break par from the tips. I've done it from fronts to whites. My Putting has really held me back as I usually hit between 60%-70% FIR and GIR, usually with great proximity. I'll have 3-4 three putts a round and countless missed 4-10 footers. My issues is usually speed control on longer putts and pulling shorter putts left. Almost to the point of yips. I know I'm actually pretty good at reading the greens, I just rarely hit my line with proper speed. I decided before investing in an arm lock or another route, that'd I'd just try some weight adjustments with lead tape. So I got a roll and put a lot on the toe to help with the pulls, and more on the lower shaft and base just to add weight so I feel better with distance control. First round today and it was a world of difference. I usually have between 33-38 putts and only had 27 today. Lots of 5 footers for scrambling pars and 3 10-20 footers for birdie which I almost never make. I felt like I was hitting my line almost every stroke. I didn't strike the ball well by my standards at all and got around at +1. I'm hoping this will continue and not be a quick boost as putting changes can be, and finally get me over the hump of breaking par. I'm now a lead tape stand lol. Anyone else have experience with this magic voodoo? Popular Post sirchunksalot
To everyone wondering about the y'all topic, I feel like I am well qualified (a first for me on the forum) as an unedumicated redneck from SE TN to confirm... It is plural. Y'all will probably hear it a lot at Kingsmill along with other words like yonder (over there for my northern friends). We also don't enunciate very well, especially things like huntin, fishin, and muddin. I refuse to pronounce the g on the end of these. @GolfSpy_KFT, I'm sorry to hear about your problems with the shanks. I think it's hump day, being out of work on Monday has kind of thrown my internal calendar off a bit. It's a beautiful morning here that's going to give way to some rain later on this evening.
