Rick, I thought you were safely away from the path as far north as you are. As of right now we just have light rain and projected (wild guess by meteorologists) to get only about 8" of rain by late tonight/early tomorrow. Wind? Well, that's a different story.

Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather we are having lately. The CEO surprised me this morning and told me I look like I need a range session so far be from me to argue with her. I will be headed that way shortly!

Good morning spies! "Write your name in permanent marker on your arm". That on the outside looks pretty cold, but ... I have lived through a couple of tornados where the building was partially destroyed, lots of earthquakes and volcanic ash falls in Alaska and even a cat 2 typhoon while working in Korea. But never something like Milton.  Those in the path please stay safe. 

Last day on the short course for the Wild Bunch and I am running the game. 3 man teams 2 out of 3 net balls per hole all the way around. Simple, fun, and everyone knows how to play this game.  Then no golf, no driving range or putting green for the next 10 days as the overseeding operation is in full growth mode on both community course. The outside courses are charging winter rates for really crappy course conditions so I will spend a lot of time on my ebike. 

No relief in sight for the temperature. 106 today. Maybe next week it will drop below a hundred.

From latest forecast we are north of the eye and will be getting the heaviest wind & rain.

Hey all thanks, a little past the morning but then again it is morning, somewhere.  Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers - If anyone were interested I recorded a prayer service yesterday afternoon on facebook live - You could find it on Grace Lutheran Church and School, St. Petersburg FL.

Like Tony we are in E, have metal hurricane shutters and our roof is less than a month old with all the Florida Bells and Whistles.  My contractor, who has remodeled the entire East Side of the house says we should be able to withstand 125 mph gusts - I really don't want to find out if he's right.  

I'm currently the point person for my congregations Helene recovery and really the point person for this storm, too so I have to stay unless the entire county is evacuated.  I'm here to stay with my son and grandson - wife, daughter, daughter in law and grand daughter are in Georgia - where they should be.  

It's been raining all day - this is the first round of rain that seems like a hurricane though - really vicious.  It is looking like the wind sheer is impacting the storm and the track will be south of us but that means everyone that just got done rebuilding from Ian are going to get it again. 

Stay safe all of us here - We really need to arrange for a Florida golf outing in November or just after Christmas.

@EnderinAZ do you have any advice or input on a Lectric eBike, based there in AZ?

You can send any response through message here if that is easier, SWMBO was considering upgrading from full pedal bike to one of these.

Great to hear from you Rev, was thinking about y’all yesterday. Pray’s for you and your family. We are hunkered down with our outside barren as all has been picked up and in the house. Hopefully Milton dodges us and we survive.

Just read that there have already been NINETY (90) tornado warnings issued in Florida today -- and Milton won't even come on shore for another seven hours or so. That's a single day record for Florida. Having grown up in Tornado Alley, I'm more scared of them than of hurricanes, because they pop up suddenly and move faster than hurricanes.

Thanks!  It was a goat track but we had a good time. Greens were in pretty good shape but firm and the fairways were dirt. Made me think about those that have mats to hit off in the fairways. Actually saw one guy do this out there!

We had 9 tornado warnings so far. One went through the middle of Vero, it looked to be 1/2 mile wide. Debris falling in our lake and yard. Crazy!!!  I've never seen tornados this large in Florida with a tropical event. Just insane. Be safe everyone!

The size of these tornados was what took us by surprise. We expect tornados, but never one 1/2 mile wide. Insane.

Well we dodged the first wave of Hurricane Milton in the Orlando area. Not sure those living in or around the Tampa/St. Pete area were as lucky. Even those living on East Coast of Florida in West Palm & Ft Pierce to Melbourne Beach area were impacted by Hurricane Milton in the Gulf! 
 
Next Bracing for Hurricane Force winds as Milton moves north east across the State of Florida and out into the Atlantic. 
it’s going to be a long night!

Milton hit land at 8:30, arriving at Siesta Key, FL as a Cat 3 hurricane.  We are all right here in Wesley Chapel, but for the first time in 28 years, my pool will overflow, and I drained water earlier today.

We still have power.
