Today is shaping up to be a standard weekend errands day. Swap some books at the library, grocery shopping, etc. I do need to take a look at one of the vehicles again to see if it was just a random issue or if I need to get a new battery because it wouldn't start the other day. It's been having some odd electrical things going on with certain systems. One day the idiotic auto on/off system was deactivated. The last time I started it said the traction system was deactivated but the auto on/off was working again, so who knows. Just haven't felt like messing with it yet. 

Weak batteries can cause all kinds of electrical gremlins @RichL85, especially with the systems and warning lights on the dash.

Don’t know what the hell I ate but it’s a free for all right now! Playing a round with @Puente37 and @Derek Eskam so hopefully we shift from Sh*tCON Delta to at least Charlie, Bravo would be nice, or even Gas Gas Gas would be good too!!! Oh, BTW it didn’t snow last night, only fog and mist!!! Happy birdie hunting!! Also, I’m laughing about my situation so you should too; no

Better pack extra clothing, and perhaps add a tp roll and holder to the push cart?  Hopefully it passes quickly though.

Having some coffee and watching some Harvard / Holy Cross football.  Much more enjoyable to watch than regular college football.  Goal for the day is to not touch a golf club, sounds odd for a golfer but today is a much needed rest day.  It is going to take some serious restraint.

Lord help you--- I know the guys in Myrtle hated weekend duty especially in summer tourist season. On our end in the wrecker business it was always hectic during that season on the weekends due to DUI arrests. I saw one of the officers I know 3 times one Saturday night in like 12 hours all DUI arrests.

I married a little 4ft 11-inch redneck gal from NC. I can remember when we first got married we were down at the Old Man's place in Eastern NC. We were target shooting and she was trying out the little Lady Smith .38 I had bought her. I was shooting my 12 ga pump Mossberg. She wanted to shoot it. My old man told her it would knock her on her butt. She shot all 6 in it (loaded combat style) and did well. My old man told me you better not piss her off. Come to find out her grand dad was a sportsman and taught her to shoot. LOL something she neglected to tell me before we were married. But trust me all joking aside it has been the best 38 years of my life

We’ve got another 6 weeks of crate rest and physio for him yet so still some work ahead. 
He’s a bit drowsy after the sedatives but the sleep should do him good

It was a great day. A little windy and playing a club and a half but weather wise was high 70s and prob crept into low 80s.

I've got a buddy that has a daughter that's 5' and 100 pounds that shoots better than her two older brothers. He's taken video of her a couple of times shooting a .44 Desert Eagle and she holds her ground. He has a .454 Casull he wants her to try to shoot.

I feel for any boy that wants to date her.

Today was a blast on the Par3 with the wife. It was not really cold but the wind was blowing. LOL the wife hit a shot within 6 feet of one pin and as we walked to the green watched the wind blow it back to the green. Glad I packed the "cheater" Macgregor 8 iron today. With a wound ball I was putting the ball in the air with the Niblick and mashie niblick. With the wind it was funny though the ball would spin and hang in the air then drop like a dying Quail. I tried every trick I could think of to lower the flight with those 2 clubs. When @Hickory4ever gets down here he will have to teach me how to hit those 2 clubs lower. I did hit some knuckle down low cuts with that 8 iron. Had a blast though. We stopped on the way home at a local place called Hamburger Joe's which serves old school Carolina burgers and hot dogs.

Will play my regular stuff tomorrow instead of vintage. My one bud George the big Gamecock fan is in Oklahoma to see the game. His son lives there and is an Oklahoma fan but could not get tickets. Of course with George being a wheel in the Boosters he could score tickets. So needless to say he will not play tomorrow. My bud Big Bear called me this AM and said we had a $5 team Nassau match going with two guys he knows. Disappointed I am not going to play true vintage but It will serve as practice for the event next week

Made it our 9 holes this afternoon.  Gonna take all the 70° days I can get here in the Middle-of-the-Mitten because they will be gone soon!  I took this photo on hole #6 today especially for @Josh Parker who is missing the colors.

I made sure to stay to the right cuz left of the green is the land of the lost ball.

Hole #7 has what many of my golfing friends believe is the easiest fairway to hit on the course.  Anyone care to make a guess of how I did?

Yeah, hit the second bunker on the right (210ish off the tee).  Chunked it out but did end up with this for my putt.

Pretty quiet day all around but it was nice to have a fan watching my second shot into #9.

Given that your Mashie Niblick is probably 45* or 46* and the Niblick around 50*, it is a better play to use a 37-40* Mashie in those conditions. I usually carry clubs with roughly 5* loft differences. Trying to hit down on a club with such a narrow sole is difficult unless the ground is hard. They were designed before our watering systems. A few of my Stewarts and Maxwell clubs have a little bounce and you can flight them lower. When we get together sometime, I will bring one for you. I will also bring you a Jigger with a good sole that can work effectively in those conditions.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, today was the Cambridge Classic. We were scheduled to start at 9:00am but had an hour and a half frost delay. When we got started, the conditions changed from clear and sunny to quite dense fog making it a challenge for three holes before the sun burnt it off. Alfred Hitchcock would have loved it. We were playing alternate shot to start which made it interesting. By the fifth hole, it had cleared up and was a beautiful sunny fall day with a high near 70* F. My friend Bill and I bogged the first four holes (we were not alone) but righted the ship for the rest of the way. Manage to win a nice Under Armour shirt due to a strong Net score, not bad for being two of the oldest guys in the field. I had a good day personally and would have been in the 70’s on my own ball.

I will not be golfing tomorrow due to a prior commitment. It will be classic clubs on Monday.

Well what a morning it’s been! Headed to the hospital around 1am and welcomed our new baby to the world at 2:30 this morning. Mom and baby are doing well and we are hoping to get back home soon to our daughter and introduce the two of them together.

Thanks you nailed it on the lofts. I measured both of mine when I first started messing with them. In fact I have the lofts written down on the shaft. The Mashie Niblick is 46* and the Niblick is 51* according to my machine. That course uses mats for now and they are like medium in hardness. Next week since we have not had much rain I will take them on my regular course and try them on hardpan and see.

Glad to see you had a great round with the "modern" sticks. funny what you and I call modern most still say they are also antique. You know what they say after the fact about old guys and old clubs.

One of the things one misses here at the beach is the smell of fall. Yep I was born and raised in Charlotte NC so I know the smells of fall. I can remember the first 3 years I lived here I did not leave the beach. I went up to Charlotte one October and a friend of mine and me were playing golf. I was sniffing and he thought I had a cold or allergy or something. I told him no I was sniffing and savoring the smells of fall.

In the pass I did not miss it none because on my daily runs I went to Darlington SC 5 days a week and it is 70 miles inland so you got the smells of fall. As it is I have not been up there since 2021 so yes I do miss the smells of fall.

In my on and off trucking days I have been everywhere. My most favorite fall area for sights and sounds is riding down US-29 from Virginia to NC. That is one beautiful area.

@Cfhandyman our league has a "deliberate" player, long time to select a club, long time standing behind the ball, long time standing over the ball.  Then topping the ball and swearing quickly.
