ejgaudette
Good morning everyone, very cold Thursday morning about 29 at the house, but should rebound quickly. Looks like it might actually be Edel iron arrival day, always skeptical but they were just about 45 minutes south so hopefully it made it on the truck. Should find out at about 1 if they are here or not. If so I might need to sneak out as I have a break from 1:30 to 3:30 which sounds like perfect range time. Hope everyone has a great day. Popular Post fixyurdivot
Top of the pot spies . I've probably just jinxed myself posting this but I'm pretty excited. My new instructor has really keyed in on something that not only has significantly reduced my OTT tendency but that he felt was contributing to my back issue. He has seen others who had muscle strain/pain start compensating their swing mechanics in order to keep playing and reduce discomfort. I've been doing the drills at the range and my back has been getting better and better as the days roll along. Then, I went to the PXG fitting this past week and that fitter also suggested another swing path thought that really flipped the switch. In a nutshell, keeping the butt-end of the club aiming slightly out to the right and focusing on turning my hands over. Distances jumped appreciably and... hold onto your seats... I'm hitting draws down to my 7i . Yes, you heard that right, Fix is hitting draws! Everything feels so much different and the strong grip position is no longer feeling so weird. I'm creating squared, straight divot patches on the range - which has now become a little contest/goal for myself. Still lots of work to do to ingrain this swing change and move the results into the long irons, fw's and driver but I know its there because I've seen the significant improvement in distance and ball flight when I connect. But the best part is that it seems to be taking pressure off whatever I messed up some months ago . I played 18 yesterday and shot a 39/44... inexplicably taking a double on the par 5 #18 by washing my 3rd shot from 146 yards on a perfect angle and lie . aguybadatgolf
Morning all! It’s going to be my first time playing what is arguably one of the best and nicest public courses in Denver this weekend (Common Grounds). I’m by no means a good golfer but as long as I break 100 I’ll count it as a success. It’s the first course I’m playing that has a lot of large fairway bunkers right where I typically hit driver. Any course management advice to help in this situation? If I’m hitting it well I should be able to carry most of them. Issue with laying up is that the par 5s are long enough that if I lay up I’ll still have 300+ yards to go and my 3w is 50/50 either piped down the middle or topped 100 yards thanks! Popular Post richk9holes
Morning, MGS. I've got my most frequently booked hot deal tee time, 2:08pm at Colonial Terrace. Me, Dad and one of the "kids" he used to babysit who is now in her 20s. Plus I imagine a single, since this course is busy late mid-day when the sun is out. My plan is to play 18 today. From the whites at 2:08, then the blues high chance I'm solo for the 2nd 9 holes. Only thing that could wreck the plan is pace. Dad stays in play so should be good for around 2 hours for 9. The other in our group is a good athlete I know hits the ball forward, but the 4th person and groups in front are wildcards. I've played here with people who are literally on a course for the first time. If the 1st 9 takes until 5pm I could imagine I'll just head home and make dinner. sirchunksalot, Rickp, Kenny B and 7 others 10 Quote Finding a way to turn birdies into bogeys since 1992. #TeamChunks '23 Forum Tester: Elixir Golf Ball WITB:TS2 10.5° @ 11.25° Tensei blue AV 55 R graph•917f2 15° @ 16.5° Diamana blue x5ct dialed 70 R graph•Stealth 22° Ventus red 6 (non-velo) R graph• 699u 2i 17° tgi 70 R graph•24° Tour v 90 black pvd R steel•699 6i-PW Tour 110 black pvd R steel• SM8 50°/08° @ 52°/10° SM8 stock steel• Jaws Full Toe 56°/12° DG Spinner TI steel • c series DW 2.0 slant neck stock steel•Phantom 2 gps•Tour v3 rangefinder•Elixir golf ball•

My wife would love to have one that is full grown. Thanks StrokerAce. It has been there for 20 years, and it never ceases to amaze me how prolific it is. Popular Post sirchunksalot
Good morning everybody and happy Friday! We're having another nice morning here with temperatures in the low 60's. I'm taking it easy drinking my coffee and getting prepared for the day. I'm trying to catch up with the activity on the forum from yesterday, but there's a lot to try and keep up with. That's a good problem to have. I'm feeling good after getting to hit the Cobra's yesterday and will carve out some time to do it again either today or Sunday. I've got to work tomorrow, we're changing the lines over to 51 jph and have had some hiccups so we have to make up for lost production. The good thing is that next week is our last week before shutdown and some well deserved time on the course. I hope y'all have a wonderful Friday and you get your weekend off to a great start. rkj427, JFish350, Placasse61 and 13 others
Popular Post BIG STU
Well up as usual on "Stu Time". First cup of coffee down and fixing to get the second. Watching the rebroadcast of the PGA Championship. I never get tired of watching golf on a Ross course. No golf yesterday due to rain and wind. None this AM either for the same reasons. I had not scheduled the Friday money game because we are supposed to have a 9& Dine this afternoon. More than likely it will be cancelled early because of course conditions. But we needed the rain it has been dry. Fixing to fire up some country ham, redeye gravy and grits. I did get a "newused" putter yesterday. A friend of mine on WRX had bought this Wilson Michigan flow neck used and decided he did not need a toe hang putter. He sold it to me for what he had in it plus shipping. Came out to be $55 total. Sits and feels good for me. Looks and sits just like a flow neck Scotty Flatback. Believe it or not weight is on no lead tape needed. Hoping it clears some this PM and I can roll it some. Popular Post Placasse61
Good Morning, Early start for boys work weekend making decks for the camper at Lakeside Pines on Long Lake Bridgeton ME. Brother-in-law Tim is meeting at the house for 6 and hope to be on the highway by 6:30 (road coffee in hand) for a 3 hr trip depending on traffic. Happy Friday all!!!! On a different note, Last night I witnessed a red necked hummingbird fly by me, then stopped in newly seeded loam that was being watered with a sprinkler. I stopped and watched for 2 minutes , hands full with no phone, as he used the water and wet soil as a bath!!! Wish I had it on video so cool! Have a great day and weekend. Popular Post Rickp
GM & Happy Friday! Coffee & strawberries and have a 7:00 am Tee Time with the Bacon Boyz. Not thrilled with this Exec only 1 par 4 and usually mediocre greens but maybe it’ll surprise me. sirchunksalot, EasyPutter, ejgaudette and 11 others 14 Quote Rick Left Hand, Driver; PXG 0311XF Cypher 50 gr Senior 5 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 7 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 5 hybrid; Cally Steelhead, Hazardous R2 Irons; Mizuno JPX 923HM 7-GW Recoil 460 F2 Wedges; Titleist S9 54*, Mizuno SW 56* Putter; Waaay too many to list
