Had a nice day yesterday weather wise, and got out for a run at lunch and bike ride with the kids last night which is always fun.

Looks like another great test on tap with the ExPutt announcement.

Good morning! Yesterday, my mom came up to our house to help out watching the kids so I didn't have to take another day off of work. She ended up taking them to gymnastics and that gave me a chance to get out and play 9 holes! I was very excited to be able to get out for an unexpected round yesterday and thanked my mom about 50 times!

Today is a beautiful day here in Southern Mi and the players for the Rocket Mortgage have to be excited for the weather and I expect to see some pretty good scores today. Since we've gotten rain lately, the greens should be fairly soft and with the great weather there's not a lot of obstacles keeping these pros from showing off!

I am really hoping my work meetings end early so I can jump on the community call today and listed to the Vice Golf Irons discussion!

@Fongle - Congrats on the house! Exciting times ahead (except for all the bills)! Enjoy designing your putting green. The bigger it is, the less you have to mow!

@CFreddie - Sick kids is never fun and it seems like ours have been getting sick more often recently. Hopefully you don't catch that trend! I'll be praying he gets better quickly!

Good morning MGSpies from a sunny and cooler WNY after heavy rain and thunderstorms rolled through yesterday afternoon postponing the PGA HOPE sessions that will likely move the final session back a week.  Currently at the service station getting the road cruiser it's annual state inspection enjoying my second mug of coffee.  Work was full on so late post for my usual early post, golf for me is tomorrow and Saturday, hope golf is a part of your day

Good morning spies! @Fongle congrats!  Just remember,  anything you want to add that doesn't benefit her, will equal 5 times the items you will have to compromise on for her later!!!     and I envision a whole stretch of putting green down that right side of the walkway !

@CFreddie hope it passes quickly and they feel better.

Todays agenda: write the final review on Stix, install new hitch on truck, build my first putter, and attempt to tackle at least 2 items on the honey-do list page.

Good morning Spies! Realized that when I left the ride at the dealer for service, I also left the clubs in the trunk. So no golf until I get it back. Decided with Scotland looming, new starter was all I could afford, which is $800+ anyway. I'm told the starter is being installed now. The dealer will send someone to get me when it's ready.

Congrats on the new home @Fongle! Agree that the bigger the green, the less you have to mow. I'm seeing ads for complete turf backyards, sold as beneficial for pets. Of course you could also cut some holes in that...

Good morning, Spies!!! Happy Thursday, or for me the end of my week (thank you comp time).

Less than beautiful weather this morning, but we've needed the rain. It'll clear up shortly and only be about 80* today (10* less than the last couple of days). I'm hoping the rain the weather app shows for Sunday either stays away completely or just comes later in the day after our round.

I'm looking forward to the community call today, as we'll be talking with Vice Golf about their new irons. I'm super curious about them and will be following the test very closely.

Morning everyone,

Another long day at work, but eventually the weekend will come. The day I'm picking for golf is Sunday, and we'll maybe be rained out. Saturday is looking like a movie date day with the missus for a double shot at Regal. 

Keeping the head high, keeping the push alive. Maybe we'll slide out in the afternoon on Sunday should the morning showers go away! Also, we're in the planning stages of a late October trip to NYC, we're going to miss the Comic Con, but NY Food and Wine fest might be cool, and we might get to meet Guy Fieri... so that's a win.

Morning to all. First cup of coffee is trying to help me wake up as I'm about to enter three meetings this morning. Weather has decided to take it easy on us today with a high of only 98. No major updates on my FIL in yet. They did an MRI, and a biopsy yesterday. Only other thing I've heard so far is that they plan to work on a treatment plan and he will likely be in the hospital for around a week. I can make assumptions what that means, but I don't want to jump to conclusions until I know more, so we're just waiting and managing what we can at the moment.

Good morning spies! @William P85 degrees and 80% humidity is brutal. I whine about 45% here in Mesa. It was around that yesterday but much hotter at 110 when we finished the round. I had another good one with my second 4 over par 77 in two days. Seems like my steady study of golf habits is paying off. Also while waiting for the repair downtime (hernia surgery) the Dave Pelz Short Game Bible work has really zeroed in my short game. I actively seek the pin from 115 yards in now, and it is paying off. 3 birdies yesterday. My partner and I carded 7 birdies on the front nine, and of course, were blanked on the back. But, we won the day anyway. 

The Doobies and Robert Cray put on a great show last night but the 1 am bedtime is too late for this old man.  No golf today. I'm just going to put my earbuds in, turn on my book, and ride the ebike. Going for 45 miles today.

Came back from a family vacation to Hawaii with the unwanted souvenir of Covid, so I'm resting up.  Hoping to be back to 100% and get some good practice in before an awesome upcoming stretch of golf 7 days in a row to mark my 40th birthday July 17 -- a round at Desert Canyon, two at Gamble Sands, and then four at Meredian Valley for my buddy's member-guest.

Good morning Spies,

I was up early for a couple of cuppas ahead of a morning tee time. It cooled off overnight with morning temps in the 60s. Parred the first hole then it was downhill from there lol. I did card two pars so that was nice. It felt like I had the course to myself. I ran into one my grounds crew buddy on several holes. He enjoyed trying the DF3 putter I am testing. 
Was awakened early this morning. There appears to be critter in the walls.  

 

@Fongle congrats on your first home! Exciting times ahead as well as the ever-growing to-do list!

@CFreddie sorry to hear about your sick kiddo. Hope he bounces back quickly!

The ride is home and the wallet is $1000 lighter ($175 charge for diagnostics to determine the starter was the problem). Yuck. Good thing Scotland is mostly paid for (and I get paid again next Friday). I need some bunker practice before I go; will probably do that this afternoon.

My last one was 24' wide by 28' deep, and I still thought it was too small.

Might as well have them change the oil and replace the gasket at the same time since the car is there.

Well afternoon all,

I am late to the game this morning. went to post then got pulled into training. Went to the home page for mygolfspy and roped myself into reading stories. I then roped myself into watching something called "Find Your Calling" since I am going to be retiring. Needless to say, I did this to myself in not posting here this morning. Going to hop onto the community call today on my way home from work. No golf today, as it rained buckets on my way into work and I wasn't about to grab my clubs from my detached garage. Hope everyone has a great day.

I have bought tires from Discount before and I passed by one on the way home from the dealer this morning. Alas I didn't buy these tires from DT. When it comes time to replace these, I probably will go there.

My car is a 2014 Honda, which I sorta inherited from my mom when she quit driving about five years ago and I needed a vehicle. (She's home but still feels weak after her weekend in the hospital). I intend to drive it into the ground, basically. Nice not having a car payment, but maintenance is always there, especially with six figures on the odometer.

... One of the nice things about Discount Tires is they pretty much take care of you for life. I have bought all my replacement tires from DT so when I buy a new car, or anyone in my family buys a new car, they will rotate the tires and repair any flats for free.

I can echo this one. When we lived in Washington, Discount Tire was our go to and they really took care of my wife and I. I miss that we don't have them in CNY. They get customer service. (But nothing beats Les Schwab and their "free beef" giveaway though. LOL)
