Sorta exciting reading about everyone packing, checking flights, preparing vehicles, and getting directions to the meet up…. Many options in getting directions these days; electronically, paper maps, word of mouth.  Main thing is that,  as much as possible is done to assure safe travel and arrival. 
  The directions getting gave me pause…. 

Again…Hoping for safe travels and safe arrivals for all  of the meet up horde.

I know that more than one Spy is in the Williamsburg area at this time........................

arrived here about 5:00PM EST, left the Ohio / WV border about 10:00AM and only had to stop for gas.

Stayed here Monday night, then drove in today. Same route that @Kenny B had through Ohio

Saw this "scenic area" along the highway in VA and thought some may find them interesting.

Flags outside where I am staying through next Monday, and then distance I will be from Kingsmill

A few Spys in town.  @Kenny B sent some pictures from Kingsmill.   I met @GolfSpy_APH, @GolfSpy_BEN, and @GolfSpy AFG while I was at HQ doing my most wanted session.     Looking forward to meeting more on Thursday morning,  Thursday afternoon, and Thursday evening.

Although it may change it looks like perfect conditions for golf:

I've posted these elsewhere and if you follow MGS socials you have seen some of videos/photos of the new HQ.   Hopefully more from other Spies when they do HQ visits.

Below is looking from the far end of HQ.   4 hitting bays with GC Quads on the right and offices through the doorway on the left.   There are computers setup at each of the bays for the testers to interact with the GC Quad software and select the club currently being hit during testing.  you can see the clubs in the white cubbies ready to be hit by the tester.  At the fat end is the PuttView System and to the left of the Puttview system is an open area where soft good testing is conducted.

Quick pic of the PuttView System.  Green speed is about a 9 which is slower than the old HQ and will hopefully require the testers to be a little more skillful with their  putting.   The PuttView system can display random putts for the player to take.   You can turn on various line to help with setup, aim, and break.   You can also turn on topology for the green to see the breaks which range from flat to about 4*.

I have to keep reminding myself that I'm not jealous at all, and that these two days of work I have to do before I can get on the plane Wednesday night was MY idea...sigh.

  The good news is the portrait lens I rented is here, and all packed along with all the spare batteries, the gimbal and drone, as well as an SSD to ensure I can shoot as much as needed and not have to worry about storage on my laptop, so now all I need is the laptop tucked away nice-nice, and we'll be good to tackle the clothing/clubs portion of the trip   I was going to just bring the clubs and the camera, and just play everything in one outfit, but...apparently the VA humidity is pretty taxing on one's outfits, so...I guess I'll pack a few things

Humidity is going to be low;  only around 50%.

That's probably going to be a hardware store run because ace is the place where none of my golfballs go. 

Forgot to post, arrived at the Cheatham Annex for my couple nights of peace and quiet plus having a 9 hole course 100 yards away from my tent, it's a good track with small greens and only a couple are still like playing plinko. +9 today

Glad to see the excitement from thise not able to attend. 
 

i will start a Live From thread tomorrow as there is some golf being played by the early arrivals.  We all will update it as much as we can throughout the weekend.   There may be some spotty wi fi during the rounds, but we’ll do the best we can. 
 

Also i want to remind all the attendees. You have spent a lot of money snd time to come on this trip.  So your first priority shoukd be to enjoy the experience and the time with all the other spies,  Taking time fo post and update is great, but it shouldn’t be all consuming that you miss out on things going on around you

I say this from previous personal experience!

Just enjoy the time!  Sure there are a handful of us jealous folks that didn't get to join, but relax, play and enjoy the trip. We have Thursday to join in.

Mine has been kicked into high gear from the get go. Just couldn't swing it this round.

I've got it bad, and I'm showing up tomorrow, lol.  The goal, I believe, is to be able to do enough of these in different parts of the country that anyone who WANTS to come, can, without making it a cross-country trek.  So, fingers crossed this goes off without a hitch and some OEM wants to sponsor the whole thing, next time

I had to cancel last week because I hurt my shoulder. I would be halfway there otherwise.
