I don't care if it is a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, or 15 way top, but it should have individual internal dividers for all openings in the top. I will die on this anthill. As a result, I generally only like a high number of dividers on cart bags or bags where the base doesn't collapse for the lets to extend, because this causes bunching of the dividers, which is another thing I despise. Haven't really been in the market for a bag, but my preference is a stand bag…not sure if there are any 14 divider stand bags out there (they may exist, just haven’t looked as I love my Ping Hoofer). The Cally had dividers for each section but they were just fabric and my grips got hung up ALL THE TIME. Cobra bag has internal dividers but I think it is by row, so not each slot. I don't mind them as a concept, but I don't love the look personally. I've always favored a 5-way bag and continue to write-off all other styles for my own gamer. I had a Maxfli 14 and the LAB putter didn't work in the bag. Tried every combo I could think of. My Titleist Hybrid is a 14 with a large putter well and I love it. Also like the 15 with the putter on the side and a slot for alignment sticks. Protecting the shafts of clubs is still necessary especially graphite shafts from shorter shafted irons and the 14 way dividers do a good job of keeping a longer club head cover in place without much time at all to tuck the knit end into the slot returning the club to the bag. This does not take extra time when one is conscious of playing Ready Golf, thinking ahead to what is next, pushing one's own clubs and walking directly from shot to shot including cleaning the clubhead to ensure the cover stays clean on the hybrids and woods. I used a Ping Hoffer 6 way I think. But club tangling drove me nuts, particularly when at the range and the bag was tilted on the legs. No such issues with the Nike. But that’s about all it seems good for and I switch to my trusty Ping Freestyle if I’m carrying, practicing or traveling. Then I started riding in a cart more cause let’s face it, I’m not going to walk when it’s 94 with a heat index of 101 or when it’s 60 and below. I had an oogio stand bag and when I finally got a cart bag I got a Subtle Patriot tier 1 cart bag and it’s a 14 way bag. I love it cause I only have 13 clubs so I have a spot for my extra driver shaft(which I would be ok with getting rid of), alignment sticks, and my orange ball warm up stick. With 5 ways bags I had in the past the clubs in each spot would always bunch in one corner, tangle up and meanwhile there is a big empty hole next to it. Easy to get clubs in and out, and place for all of them, and the large putter well. Only downside of this bag is it's known for not being too stable to stand alone on a breezy day. As @GolfSpy_BEN mentioned, the MGS Jones bag has a lot more difficulty keeping clubs from becoming tangled and easy to remove and replace. I have a Taylormade 7-way carry/stand bag that I chose for my work 25th anniversary gift 18 months ago (just after getting back into golf). I mostly use a push cart or ride now (only carry occasionally for 9) and club bunching is frustrating, as is snagging on the fabric divider covers when removing clubs. I have a mix of midsize, jumbo and JumboMax oversized grips (trying a few out) and it's getting a little snug in there. I have a list of 'must haves' and 'would likes' from a new bag and having full length dividers with space for a full set of oversize/ Jumbomax grips is a 'must have'. I would ideally like a bag with ClickLock to connect properly with my BagBoy Nitron push cart, but I'll take a hybrid bag that works with the clubs I use, a drinks cooler compartment, removable carry strap, cart strap pass-through and that looks good. You need an oversize putter slot and a decent cooler compartment. The Cobra bag I received during the Cobra Challenge would be perfect if it had full length dividers for each slot. But I'm living with it because everything else is very good. I also have the Bag Boy Chiller. Everything is really good except it is just too large for my Club Glove Pro travel bag. I have a MotoCaddy 14 way but the club slots are too tight. Spacing is tight and it is difficult to get the clubs in and out and it does not have a cooler pocket. I've tried several other bags that did not have 14 way top and I found that my clubs always got tangled. Tacky mid size grips need to be separated. I bought a HotZ bag about two and a half years ago, because it came with a logo that I wanted to sport - an Air Force branded bag to drive the Navy guys nuts. The bag was alright, I did like the way it layed my clubs out, but the dividers did not go all the way down and after about a year and a half - probably better than 150 rounds - there was no way to keep the shafts/grips from migrating. It also started to collapse when it was on the cart, making it difficult to get clubs at that side of the bag in and out. I just bought a Sun Mountain bag. I gained two pockets and the existing pockets are larger. The valuables pocket is a much better pocket, with a protected and water tight zipper, and for the few times to date that it's been on the cart it has performed very well. I do miss how the HotZ bag layed my clubs out, and I'm still getting used to this layout - I keep the Cleveland Launcher next to my driver because I put the head cover on it when I'm at the tee, and I keep my 2 iron next to my Hybrid because that head cover will stay on the 2 iron when the Hybrid is in use - so I've had to do some re-arranging, and that means once in a while double-checking to make sure I've grabbed the correct club. I strongly prefer a 14 way bag. When this one wears out I'll buy another. If I were designing a bag from scratch, that would be my top. I have a lighter stand bag that I use for walking/push cart, and then I have a cart bag. The stand bag has only 4 dividers and it's great for that purpose. The cart bag pictured below I picked up for Christmas and it has 15 way individual dividers that extend the length of the bag. It makes it easier to pull clubs out of a cart and put them back in. I love it.
