Haywood CB/MB Irons - 2024 Forum Review

It appears that all the UPS packages were scanned in the States about 40 minutes ago.

My package is in Seattle, and expected to be delivered Thursday.

Why, oh why can't these be coming sooner?!

So excited to share an unboxing with you all. I know I have yet to post an update but it is coming. I would love to add to my review my fitting experience and working with Josh.

OK...while I (im)patiently wait for UPS to do their thing, I wanted to share my testing plan with everyone and include some dates where I hope to be providing updates.

My Haywoods are set to come in on Good Friday, which honestly is an important, and very solemn, religious day for me. Sooo, after church services, of course there will be an unboxing and first impressions shared with everyone. Depending on when the clubs arrive (I hope I'm not in church as I have to sign for them), I may have some sunlight to get those "glamour shots" everyone is pining for or I may have to wait until Saturday to get some truly good photos of the clubs. I'll be documenting everything, but, as much as I hope it won't be the case, it may be Saturday before I am able to share everything with the world. 

Saturday might also be tricky, as we have our massive Easter egg hunt at church and then I have Easter lunch with the in-laws slated for Saturday afternoon (and 2 hours there and 2 hours back to drive) as well. So, I know I'm not getting to the course or the range Saturday, but I do plan to use my 35 acre "personal driving range" here at the house and my Rapsodo MLM 2 Pro to get initial indoor and outdoor impressions either before the Egg Hunt or after coming back from my in-laws. I've got my trusty "feed bucket" target ready to go (3' diameter) and my "hay ring" targets (30' diameter) to simulate very precise greens.

Sunday - Easter morning services and then Easter lunch/dinner at my brother's house will once again keep me going to the course/range, but after all the Easter family festivities are done, I'm going to get in a "full bag" Rapsodo session to start drilling down on the data.

Monday - I have to work for a living, so I'm going to be doing that for the majority of the day, but looking at my current meeting schedule I have nothing after 3:00. I've identified a 9-hole par 68 with 3 of the 9 holes being par 3s that I've played in the past. Coming in at 4,780 yards, it seems like the perfect "all-irons" course to me. I plan (with their permission, they are supposed to call me back tomorrow) to play a round on course hitting all irons (even for tee shots) playing best ball with myself hitting 2 shots each (one with my Apex 19s and the other with the Haywoods) and doing a direct "which wins" comparison. 

Tuesday - I have a Trackman session booked with On Par Golf and my former college roommate turned PGA teaching pro to do a full gapping session, so I'll have every data point under the sun to be able to share (hopefully along with some videos) once that is complete.

Wednesday - Haywood irons will be hit. Both outside in my field/range and inside on the Rapsodo

Thursday - My son's baseball team that I am coaching has a doubleheader with games at 6 and 8 PM. Love y'all, but family will come first this day so golf will likely be backburnered.

Friday - I will have the clubs for 1 full week!!! So what better way to celebrate than to take them on a 1-week anniversary twilight round! I'll once again try to hit direct comparison shots, but don't know what course is on tap yet.

Beyond Friday - I'm going to hit these every day if possible and play as many rounds on course with them as I can in the coming weeks. That said, April 5-9 is out as I'm going to be doing a family vacation for the total solar eclipse, so golf will be out on those days. My daughter has soccer games every Saturday morning and we have church each Sunday morning, so when I play it'll be later in the day.

That's the initial plan...I hope y'all enjoy the ride with me over the next couple of weeks. I'm going to be posting as much as I can with as much information as I can. I'm very much looking forward to the experience and sharing.

That's quite a plan @frazzman80!   Can understand the busy-ness of this weekend.  If I were in the same place on this test, my schedule would be almost identical.  Looking foward to seeing pics and posts of these irons.

Now Rob I did count 7 clubs haha. So Josh gave the grips to me (Kudos to him). However, I prefer the SuperStroke Traxion Tour Oversize. They are my gamers on my Srixon's so I will be gripping them this evening. Then I will post a first Impression vid.

Don’t be too jealous John!  I was just thinking new irons to go with new (well almost) INDI wedges - you got some serious updates happening.  Anyway I am looking to see how the Haywood irons play with the INDI’s….know you’re heading into fall, still you should have some awesome golf weather still!
