Worst Feeling Putter you have used?

The absolute worst feeling putter ive ever had was the ping Ug-Ly.  Impossible to dial distances.  So spongey off the face!

Controversial maybe, but white hot face is not something I have gotten along with. Can't put my finger on it as to why, but they are just not my cup of tea.

A friend of mine plays with a an odyssey backstryke sabertooth. It sounds absolutely horrible. We have a friend that started playin in the last year and the first time he heard it he jumped at the sound and started giving him a hard time for how bad a putter it is. That’s how bad it sounds even to an untrained ear. I’ve never rolled it but I can’t imagine it feels that good.

Oddly enough Oddessey White Hot #1 and #5 putters were included in a few newly acquired sets I received. I played with the #1 a bit and was pushing everything right. Caveat is that I was very rusty and there was a slight bit of play in the grip. I have not tried the #5. I get the akward feeling tho. Swapped to Taylor Made Nubbins and was more comfortable. Pretty simple putter. I'll try the #5 for a few rounds but may end up letting them go.

See I love the White Hot insert, compared to the anser I have the way the ball comes off the face is so much nicer and I have a much better feel for the putt.

Totally agree. Had x3. Never made friends with any of them. Now happily married to a Ping Heppler Fetch … nothing like the sound of metal on ball to make you smile

The worst feeling putter for me is any putter with a metal face. I prefer putters with a soft insert. Everytime I try a milled or unmilled face putter, I hate it, they all feel too hard/harsh. Some Wilson putter I bought years ago was the worst I ever felt, also tried some Toulons and didn't care for them.

I try lots of putters via MGS most wanted testing and I think the worst feeling/sounding one would be the Tour Edge Wingman.

Love my heppler zb3 but my lab kicks it out of the bag everytime.

I got a silly good deal on a new raycook silver ray mallet putter. We did not get along at all, but I was convinced to make it work. I did well with the stock bag set blade putter I had, but told myself I needed this one. The RC was like smacking a 2x4 against a brick wall. Eventually (after months of practice) I was able to make it work for me (somewhat/mostly).

I have really only used about 4 putters in my 25 years of golfing.

And my current putter - Odyssey OG 7

The worst was the White Hot #1. I hated the offset of the putter and never felt comfortable on long putts.

The Bristol is a great putter I enjoy for fast greens.

Worst putter? Well... Since you asked...

My brother works with cattle. He had a custom putter made. The shaft is a bull pizzle and the head is a generic two-way head like what is used at Putt-Putt. It's terrible to use. It's quite a conversation piece, though!

Bristol is my oldest daughter’s name. Now I have to go find that putter to give her. Love it!

The blade putter from my Wilson box set. Zero feeling, and the plastic insert in it fell out while I was playing.

I can't hit any offset putter of any type.

My putters are either shaft-aligned or onset.

Loved it for alignment. It had a version of the White Hot face, which I don't always dislike. But the hollow body resulted in a putter that sometimes would sound just fine, and other times would create a ringing ping at impact. If sound is a part of feel, this is the one I just couldn't deal with.

I loved the look of the Odyssey EXO line and had to pick one up….. via online ordering. Got it in the mail and it felt like I was trying to roll marshmallows off the face. Guess I just prefer a firmer feel off the face! Now I’m gaming a Scotty Tei3 Longneck Newport 2.

Far and away the worst "Marshmallow on a stick" is anything with the White Hot Insert!!! Iam aware of its popularity but i believe that to be on the amatuer front exclusively as you do not see many real good putters of the ball using that horrid thing!! Every shot feels the same!! You could putt a ProV1 or a Pinnacle and notice no feel differnce!! They are just not for me!!

I have the same with the dfx, whatever the ball it's like hitting a brick

Who makes the DFX iam not familiar and thatt sounds to be a complete 180 from the White hot Mushmallow!!!! We need to use these two as bookends and find a happy medium!!!

Sorry, meant the odyssey with the dfx black face... Tried the 1 and 7 in the model an hated both

Oh man I haven't had the "pleasure " They are clearly a great company and benefit alot of people it's just not for me. Those guys would probably roll one of my light milled putters and feel it was clicky but I love it
