As I didn't want my playing partner to lose me on the course, I went with the orange 405x  It is not subtle in it's colour!  My shipping notice also came in- I swear all the testers were jumping for joy when the first notice was mentioned.  Mine should arrive next Friday, assuming no hiccups at the border.

I'll be going to my local fitter here in Ottawa- GolfTown to get it measured, cut and gripped ( I went with the no-grip option as I use GolfPride CP2 Jumbo with 4 + 1 wraps- and it wasn't an option direct from supplier). Swing weight is listed as D0, will be interesting to see how a) close we get and b) if I'll notice a difference with my own shafts- I honestly don't know what their swing weight is- that will also be part of my data for my review.

Congrats to all the testers!  I know a lot of people who swear by these shafts and I'm interested to see what improvements they've come up with on the newer version.

Will get my full intro posted this weekend, but to whet your appetites...

I went with the 405x model in green. The shaft will come tipped for Callaway in the full raw uncut length with the grip off. Limited grip options from the wholesaler, but have Lamkin Sonar+ Blackout grips that I plan to use. Once I have the shaft, I will bring it in for a full fitting with my local fitter (GolfMD) to get everything dialed in.

Ok, guys….all 8 shafts have been built, packed and shipped out today!!! All “testers” should recieve an email with tracking numbers!!!

Enjoy and hit away…I’ll sit here with my coffee (I spelled beer wrong) and enjoy the next few weeks!!!

Snow is gone ,curling is still on and golf courses are all finally starting to open around Ottawa.  Yep, must be end of April , eh!

Went the more subtle route myself and went with the black and green one as I am always a fan of subtle detailing that the black background provides for the green. It was an honest toss up between this one and the white one but after seeing some sneak peaks of the shafts I'm very happy with my  decision.

Got the official shipping notification yesterday as well as an expected delivery date this morning. Shaft is expected to be delivered on Wednesday and I already have a Saturday tee time set for 10:40 in the morning! Can't wait to absolutely grip it an rip it on the course!

Also I will be testing the 505X for the speedy members of this forum.

I'm sorry to say that I have not made an OttoFlex conversion.  The closest (and it's not even close) I have is a 12 year old TM RE*AX 49 R flex Mid-tip "SuperFast" shaft coupled with a Burner head... I pulled it out of the "dust bin bag" last night, and wow, I can't believe I ever managed to hit that combination. I will post those numbers if the spies want.  It will be ego-deflating, for sure!!

Fitting is also booked for Thursday morning at 10:30 to truly dial in the shaft and head combination before taking it out on the course. So assuming the shaft is delivered on time Wednesday we will be ready to go on Saturday.

Fitting is booked for Monday May 6th to get the gorgeous orange 405x shaft dialed in with my TM Qi10 Max head.  Scheduled delivery is Friday May 3... here's hoping that customs won't be an issue as the shaft makes its way north from Austin to Ottawa!

I have the OG Autoflex in my AiSmoke TD and it has been game changing in seeing yardage gains that i could have only hoped for.   And tight dispersion as a bonus.  
 

so the Dream 7 has a pretty high bar to cross.

I've loved reading up on AutoFlex and watching all the reviews over the past year or so, but as someone that hits the ball fairly far and straight, I've struggled with the idea of dropping that much money on one without knowing if I'd see any benefit. I wish there was a way to try before buying so I'll just have to follow along and see what everyone experiences!

I am a high-handicap golfer who struggles most with driving the ball who will be testing the 405x model for swing speeds between 90-105mph. Per UPS the shaft should be arriving here soon on Tuesday. I had a lesson this morning with my fitter focusing on driver that was very productive, and he's excited for me about this opportunity. Will see him again next weekend for a fitting session with the shaft.

Intro posted!  So excited and honoured to have this opportunity for my first ever review experience!  According to UPS, my SF405x 50g shaft ( 90-105mph) in Orange should be arriving in Ottawa on Friday May 3...assuming customs goes smoothly.

If you have any questions about my review or for any of the other testers- please don't hesitate to ask!!!  We are all here to help !

I will be really curious to hear from the testers that don’t always hit straight if this has any effect reducing or increasing left/right dispersion. Now that I have a handful of Autoflex related videos watched and articles read, I have seen a little of both. 

It’s pretty awesome this one has 8 testers!

On behalf of all of us: thanks for the kind words- I am looking forward to reading everyone else's intro's/reviews as much as you. Great group of testers, and amazing there are 8 of us!  I don't always hit straight ,but I am 70% (ish) on the fairways with my drives. It will be interesting to see if statistically there is a difference in dispersion and how it matches up with the  claimed distance gains too.

I really like your set of questions there, on the money. 

Do you play a little fade with driver, or roughly straight? Your path/angle numbers look like tiny fade, but I also see most of your drives are on the left half of the fairway on that one Trackman screen. Oh this Arccos graphic shows slightly more right misses than left. Anyway, nice hitting!

I keep hitting refresh on the UPS tracking hoping to make it go faster... it's currently 'stuck' in Earth City, MO.   There's an un-official race between @KC Golf and myself to see which one of us in Canada will receive our shafts first.
