I've done, and continue to do, many things that would get me hung in the south, such as celebrating the birthday of Burnin' Billy Sherman and planning to name my first born son Tecumseh or Ulysess.

Thistle in North Myrtle is run by a bunch of transplanted NY guys, very friendly also, great staff!

It seemed like every staff person at Legends was a transplant: Michigan, NY, Canada... I don't think we talked to a single employee who was a native SCer.

Don't think it's the current issue, because I haven't got it in the mail yet.

So mine finally came today and I have to say that the Myrtle Beach buddy trip looks pretty great. Just getting groups of 30+ guys together to play golf and play there would be quite a trip.

The costs quoted in GD didn't sound unreasonable at all either. I can't imagine what a similar trip to Monterey over here would cost...

The costs stated were all on the high end also, prime Spring season. My trip is 4 nights, 4 rounds (with replays available) for 318.00 per person, playing 2 of the top courses listed ( Tiger's Eye and Leopard's Chase) and 2 upper mid tier courses. Last year we had 52 people go on our trip, and it was a blast, nothing, I repeat, nothing, can top a buddy trip, especially to Myrtle Beach.

I also want to make Bob join us out for a beer when we get down there too!

Sometimes there are specials, but most are from the North East, and Mid West, Myrtle Beach as a whole targeted those markets. Sometimes there are Spirit Air Direct Flights for $9.00, yes 9 bucks.

Sac you just have so much good golf over there, they don't target your market. Build up some mileage and come out!

Tough to build miles with a 4 mile commute. By bike some days too... :)
