I had gone longer in replacing my SM8’s than I should have. Just thought I was losing ability to get good spin out of a bunker. The. You are exactly right about the difference in bite with a new wedge. Small purchases for me today. Some additional weights for my woods/hybrids to play around with a little and a dozen each of the Maxfli Tour and Tour X. Went through the Ballnamic fitting site and the Tour was one of the top recommendations for me so I'll give them a shot. Other top options were Z Star XV (like it already), Vice Pro Plus, and Snell MTB-X. I want to like the Tour better than the Tour X simply because the Tour is available in yellow, but we will see. I probably will send a few clubs back (either the 5i or the 5h for sure will go back, and maybe the 0311 wedges). The 6-GW, the 5W and the 4H are definitely staying though. fixyurdivot Posted October 13, 2022 Share Posted October 13, 2022 Having given the Puma Pwradapt 2.0's another go last week, and ending up with blisters on both heels, I picked up a pair of FJ's Flex in grey. They are more tennis shoe style and better suited to the AZ climate than the leather Puma's... which I think should be renamed "Puma Cripplers". I had images of Cathy Bates in my head while making my painful slog back to the clubhouse. Seriously, the folks at Puma have gotten so smitten with their "cage" concept that they have completely forgotten about comfort. They should make the designers wear them... walking 18 holes of golf, not just in the office area. Several folks I've spoken with said they have stopped wearing Puma for this very reason. It's really too bad because they are otherwise a great looking shoe and have good lateral support. But the heel area feels like it has two vertical, steel I-beam columns just under the fabric... awful wear points!! Fortunately the Sketchers I recently purchased are soooo comfortable (so much so I bought another pair). They too are leather and should be fine for winter play. I haven't tried the FJ's yet but they sure look comfy. I'll save the Puma's for when I get a power cart... which most folks use here.
