dlow206
Was 155 out, sidehill lie in the rough with the ball below my feet. Tree trunk in front left of me, tree branches hanging directly in front. Needed to hit the ball low and also account for the ball potentially going right off the sidehill lie. Hit a low shot got a good bounce, landed on the green. Missed the birdie putt but made par. Sluggo42
Gotta go with PW from 116 to within a foot, second place a 4 UiHi onto the green on the hardest hole, and last but not least, a short flop from the side of a hill off the right edge of the green. No more than 20 feet, but the way it landed so softly was sweet. I did one like that last week, and I need to figure out how I’m doing that... artful_golfer, Rickp, MattF and 1 other 4 Quote TSr2 on tensi blue stiff Speedzone 3-wood on Tensi blue S Epic Max 5 and 7 woods on HZRDUS Reg flex Paradym 9 wood on HZRDUS reg flex P770 / P790 combo set on Ventus R-6 shafts 6-AW T22 Denim Copper 54°, 58° on Kinetic X Trajectory ER3 or, E.A.S. #4 (“Fang” or “Adele”) ProV1x, or, Maxfli Tour X .Org 14 cart bag Adidas Tour 360 , or Sketcher shoes
Nic
I pulled off a crazy flop! I'm on a 507 par 5, great drive followed by a long 2nd shot into the green side bunker. The green is elevated 8 feet straight up from the bottom of this bunker... and the tiny green rolls downhill away from me. I usually use a 54* wedge from the beach, but I grabbed the 60* and opened it all the way. I hit an explosive shot 15 feet into the air with so much spin that it spun backwards 2 feet and stopped just short of the pin. I tapped in for the bird, and my buddies were still talking about it this morning... might have been the best shot I ever made. I should add that the sand in the bunker was compact from rain, and the ball was sitting up nicely! dlow206
This was the hole of the day for me. Par 5, dogleg right. You want to hit it up the right side and turn the corner. First shot, I hit it pretty much online but maybe a yard too much right (maybe even just 1 foot too far right). Hit the tree guarding the right side of the fairway and took a bounce dead left but landed in the fairway. Lost at least 40 yards on my drive, hence the 200 yard drive. Left me with 300 yards out, so decided to play it smart, two clean 7 irons in a row, second one was a bit long, but still on the green. 69 foot putt for birdie, hit it to 2 feet. Made par. bens197
The 16th at Greystone Links is a 550 yard par 5 that didn't offer much for a second shot into the green. Driver was toed and ended up left of the fairway and left me with a blind shot into a dogleg left and elevated green that slopes severely left into the marsh. I had 250 in so that essentially made my decision for me, a 3 shot par 5...So on my 3rd shot approach, I tried to get too cute which left me right of the green on the high side in the fescue. Hit a sweet wedge that landed right on the first cut and rolled to 6" and believe it or not, drained it for a 5. This hole is always feast or famine for me. dlow206
Hit some really nice shots today, but my overall score wasn't good. Probably what i would consider my best shot of the day is a 4 wood from 235 yards out. I was still short of the green by about 10 yards, but it was one of my first times using a fairway woods off the deck (i'm a fairway wood newb). The ball was above my feet, which is usually a disaster for me with any club. Caught it a little thin, so it ended up being a low line drive, but it was straight and went far. Besides that, I hit an approach shot to within 5 feet and then of course went ahead and missed the birdie putt. Alf. S
1st post on this thread but then I think this was a pretty good 3w. 13th hole at West Lothian SI 4, 416 yard par 4 and playing into a strong 25mph wind. I pulled my drive a little left and ended up in the semi rough with 215 yds to the front, I fade the ball and with a 3w this can mean 20-30 yds, being up the left the normal shot to the right of the green is blocked by trees. I'm having an OK round and thoughts are that even if I fade the shot it will drop short and right where there is not a lot of trouble, and hopefully a chip and a putt. I middle the shot right down the tree line, pitches 3 yds on rolls out to 12 feet. sixcat
I have been playing golf for nearly 30 years. I have never had a hole-in-one. I have had one albatross but never a hole-in-one. It spun back, skirting the left edge of the hole, leaving me a 6 foot putt straight back up the hill. dlow206
My best shot of the day was my drive on 18 yesterday. I recently solved my issue of snap hooks and pulls, which was good and now I have more of a one way miss. But I also started to lose some distance off of my tee shots. Was hitting some drives over the past couple rounds that went only about 200 yards. On 18, hit a solid straight drive that the guy I played with thought went 280. It was actually 250 yards, but that is a good distance for me. gavinski91
For the first time ever, I managed a shot over 300 yards with the big stick! The hole was a 545-yard par 5 with a long forced carry off the tee over a canyon and bunkers awaiting any shot that goes off-line. I caught the ball right in the sweet spot and it went dead straight - based on where it landed it had about 260-270 yards of carry and caught enough of the downslope to keep rolling. I followed that up with a 3-hybrid to 40 yards out, put my wedge shot within 10 feet of the pin, and drained the birdie putt on the toughest hole on the course. Definitely the highlight of the round for me! sirchunksalot, artful_golfer, MattF and 1 other 4 Quote Driver - Radspeed XB at 7.5°, Aldila Rogue Silver 70-S 3 Wood - Radspeed, Aldila Rogue Silver 70-S 5 Wood - Radspeed, Fujikura Motore X F3 6-S Utility - Pro 225 3i, Mitsubishi MMT 105S Irons - Pro 225 4-5, 223 6-PW, KBS $-Taper 120 Wedges - King Cobra Snakebite 52° & 58°, KBS Hi-Rev 2.0 S Putter - Stroke Lab Black Ten 35" Ball - Chrome Tour Powered by 2020 ExPutt Official Review | 2021 Cobra Connect Five Participant | 2023 SuperSpeed Official Review | 2024 Claw Glove Review
cciciora13
Easily my 80 ft putt on the par 5 sixth hole for eagle. I ended up sticking it to 1-2 ft for a tap in birdie. Love those kind of birdies! I guess my purchase of the bettinardi is paying off (or at least ill keep telling myself that) LOL sirchunksalot, Rickp, MDGolfHacker and 1 other 4 Quote In my bag: Driver: Ben Hogan GS53 10.5* Stiff Mitsubishi tensei blue Stiff 3 Wood: 939 x 15 deg.
