Weight Loss Thread

Recommended Posts

Had my 6 mo Doc visit this morning after playing 9 holes. Doc went over last weeks blood test results and was a happy boy. He was really pleased about the weight loss, we had a small wager that I would lose more than him (%) since last checkup.

I won

Weight loss has a big impact on our overall health.

Keep it up guys!

Further to OG and GS Barba's posts regarding weight loss and helping each other out, I'm starting this thread in the hopes that those of us that need or could stand to lose a bit of weight will chime in.

I really want to get down to 180lbs. I've been struggling with my weight for years and my lowest (about 6 months ago) was 199.2lbs.

I've crept back up to 207lbs and am not really happy about it....but that's the holiday season.

So, I'm thinking that those of you who want to participate can just post here, maybe what you're doing, eating etc or just a weekly/fortnightly weigh in.

So that's it in a nutshell, chime in or I'll talk to myself.

this is the original post!!!!!

What am I missing?!?!? He's asking what do I do/ have done. I replied look into keto. Now according to you and I'm a troll and Rick even suggested I'm a vaccination denier?!?!?. I never mentioned vaccines until Rick did and then I'm quoted on that as if I started with that.

Let me make this as simple as I can for two guys who clearly hate keto for some reason.

Look into it.

Stop calling me a troll and stop crying to a moderator when I send you a private message asking what your problem is. Oh and btw how is your so full of knowledge about diet and you haven't answered one question I put back on you? Just implied names is all you've given.

I'm slipping on the formal workout schedule but am working around the yard - weeding, mulching, etc plus golf almost every day. Once the landscape work is done I'm back to the formal workouts. FYI weight is still holding steady.

Yes, the yard word can be as strenuous as a workout. I put down around 20 bails of Pine Straw a couple weeks ago around the house and it was a workout!

My yard takes 27 yards of mulch - that's 3 truck loads (dump truck kind not pickup). So pretty sore after I'm done!

You said I was derailing a thread on diet by me suggesting a keto diet and you post about yard work. I'm still not following your logic at all.

Tell me Rick seriously. Why do you have a problem with me or keto?

I hit the gym hard this morning and then came home and worked in the yard and even did some chores indoors.  I should be burning enough calories for sure.   My problem is my sweet tooth.  Since I quit drinking I have been battling sweet cravings and I need to figure out how to eliminate that desire. Once I do that it will be on like donkey kong!

My trainer gave me a conversion chart that turns yard work or house work or even golf in a cart into an activity.

It certainly counts

Wowzers, lucky you didn't break anything! When I was 14 or 15 our PE teacher was introducing us to weight lifting and he dropped a 45 lb plate on a carrot from knee height to show even from a short distance, the weight can do some damage

I grew up using Stones, live in a country that uses KG's and you guys use pounds. Before I broke my leg I was 90KG or 14.1 Stones or 198 pounds. In the 4 months I was unable to exercise or move to much that went up by 6KG or 13 pounds. At only 5'10 I am noway tall enough for that extra weight.

I am currently 93.7KG / 206 pounds. I want to lose that 3.7 KG which is all on my stomach now. I cut out cans of soda, halved the sugar in my tea, cake once a week, no chocolate, and no junk food. I also drink 3 -5 cups of green tea everyday. I use the gym 5 days a week, lifting weight and finishing with 30 minutes light CV. That routine has so far dropped off 5 pounds. The big BUT here is muscle has increased and the fat has moved or my shape has changed. Its hard to lose that stubborn stomach fat.
