Him, Cameron Champ and Norman Xiong are a new breed. 

 

Anyone that can move it out to 130mph whenever they want and can figure out the rest of the game is scary!

Koepka, JT, RF, Finau... Rahm, Rose (he has it all, length and precision) Bubba (he doesn't fair well on links style... but maybe) Rory is a bomber, Tiger would be awesome... but I just don't think he's there yet.

I think a course set up like this leans towards players that are solid with the approach side of the game. Being able to pick out and hit the correct parts on the greens is going to be the make or break part.

Congressional, Merion, Winged Foot, Pinehurst, Oak Hill, just to name a few.  Don't get me wrong, I'll enjoy watching, but I guess I'm used to golf courses with trees.

Is there anyone else like me that prefers the US Open at "non-links" style courses?

 

Congressional, Merion, Winged Foot, Pinehurst, Oak Hill, just to name a few. Don't get me wrong, I'll enjoy watching, but I guess I'm used to golf courses with trees.

I do prefer the old school parkland style courses for opens.
