Attending a Champions Tour Event

Checking the schedule I see that the Dominion Energy Classic is in Richmond, Va. this is roughly 3.5 hours away. I’m looking to attend this tournament, catch some of my favorite players in action.

 

Hopefully Tom Watson sticks out the season, I would love to see him play in person.

That would have been a treat for sure.

I wish I would have got introduced to golf at a younger age. I might have tried to convince my dad to take me to see Seve play. Just caught the tail end of his career on TV.

I volunteered at the Dominion event a few years ago;  only got one day of work,  but got to walk with Bernhard Langer,  Scott McCarron, and Rocco.  Was definitely a fun round to walk inside the ropes.

I tried to go to a Symetra Tour event a few years back, but I got send to a school.

I honestly believe that the Champions events are one of the best deals going. Tickets are a fraction of a PGA event and often in abundance.

What’s cooler? For a someone who’s almost 40, we were able to see all the guys we grew up watching on TV.

The highlight for me and my dad? Following Corey Pavin around Oak Hill this summer.

Yep! I wasn’t ever a fan of John Daly, but if he’s there it would be cool to see him in action, he was a buddies favorite golfer back in HS.

Wouldn’t mind catching Boom Boom too...

Symetra events are interesting. Definitely a skill level difference from top to bottom. Also interest in my watching some players with caddies and some carrying their own bags. Wish they still had the one in richmond; was fun seeing the players from big break.

Thanks for that!  I'll PM you on this.  Allie can't carry a standard until next year, so we'll be in the gallery again this year.

I really miss the Symetra tournament we had here.  The women were really great about working with the kids.

I attended and volunteered for every Boeing Classic while still in WA (marshal, sign bearer, practice green).  The Champions Tour events are really well run and it easy to follow a player around the track and actually see each shot.  I really like seeing the names I grew up with playing top caliber golf... they've still got game just a wee bit shorter.  Have fun.
