Who else saw Phil with a rangefinder after his chip in on 5?? How is that legal?

We should remember, this event is run by the PGA of America.  The PGA Tour has not jumped on board as far as I've heard, they're likely to be back to yardage books and pacing in 4 days.

They allowed rangefinding devices to hopefully speed up play they said, but with the course conditions in the wind it hasn’t really helped.......although you could say without them it could have been even longer rounds.

I thought the rangefinders were a success. Most players I saw were using them. Caddies were not taking time to pace off yardages. Pace seem steady for a tough major with really tough conditions. I can see how pro caddies might not want them because rangefinders take away from their skill and preparation for tournaments. The caddies that work harder pre-tournament may have more accurate yardages. However nowadays, every player/caddie gets a lot of information from yardage books and green slope charts. That is a newer development. Still think rangefinders improve tournament golf.

Legal in all PGA events...PGA Championship, PGA SR Championship, Ryder Cup. Not legal with PGA Tour events. They are two different organizations.
