Having had zero experience with Club Champion I would love to hear how you all think it would effect TXG? My first thought is that TXG is willing to sell and hopefully keep their brand, but hopefully with a large company backing them they can further look to expand into more areas and more stores? Keeping on that I wonder how much the restrictions in Ontario have effected them? It is a hot spot in Canada and maybe this will help them on a strictly business end of things? Regardless interesting development and I hope that it is they are only being bought more in name and will continue with their TXG brand and more or less just be a sister company so to speak without being asked or forced into a direction that they want to be in. That being said I don't see Ian being the type of owner to do that and maybe again this will open up further opportunities for them! Wonder if this is more about club champion expanding into Canada or within Canada and not having to find space and/or construction as much as it would be about txg trying to expand via CC. TXG and CC have different fitting approach with CC using shaft then find the head and TXG doing like almost every fitter starting with head and fine tuning with the shaft, so that dynamic will be interesting if Ian stays. Maybe it’s an offer Ian couldn’t refuse and will take the money and go back home. GolfSpy_APH, GolfSpy_SHARK, MattF and 6 others

Golfspy_CG2
Wow..Very interesting. Well It is two year old conversation, but when I was there in 2019, Ian told me he was very much looking at expanding into the US and had a couple markets in mind where he already had discussions going on. One of those markets already has two CC locations in the suburbs. But I think RickyBobby's comment about possibly taking the buyout and going home, or onto a nother venture, isn't impossible. Popular Post TR1PTIK
As long as it doesn't negatively impact TXG I'm all for it. Even better if TXG rubs off on CC as I'd love a TXG fitting at some point, but the additional costs of travel will keep it out of my budget for some time. Popular Post edingc
Yeah, this is some pretty disappointing news given that TXG for me epitomized the ideal combination of professionalism but yet maintaining a good bit of community feel. All that being said, with Toronto likely staring down continued restrictions I don't know what more the channel could have produced this year that would have been different or new. I really like the content, but so many new releases show such minor improvements over the old that it unfortunately just became a lot of the same results in every video. Found myself really just skipping the majority of the product reviews lately. The bread and butter of the channel (for me) would be more fittings, but obviously with the restrictions that hasn't been able to happen. The production value of the course vlogs were also great, but again, not really the original intent of the channel. Obviously sparse on the details at the moment but I'm sure neither Ian nor Matt made their decisions lightly. Popular Post sirchunksalot
After seeing the news today, I can honestly say that I felt like I was gut punched with the reaction I had. Hopefully this will be a good transaction for both parties and it won't be as bad as my initial reaction earlier today. It's sad that the channel is losing Matt, he's just a robot hitting the ball and his interaction with Ian was always superb. Hopefully, between Ryan Barath and Mike Martyseiwicz they'll still have some good videos. I really enjoy listening to them on the Build Shop podcast. @jlukes, with all that went on This year as far as CCC5, you all did a wonderful job dealing with all the hurdles of the supply chain issues.
