Popular Post David Leighton Reid
Good Friday morning, golfers! A typical February day with possible rain/snow this afternoon. However, February hasn't been bad so far with a majority of the days above average temperatures. Next week the predicted high temps range from 50 to 67.....sweet! My wife just left for work; bless her for being our breadwinner! Good morning Spies! Sun, sun, and more sun for the next couple of days with temps reaching the mid 70's tomorrow. I am running the game today and depending on the number of players I will reverse the order of Monday's scoring. Monday was 4 man teams par 3 score 3 net, par 4 score 4 net, par 5 score 1. So today I think I will set it up with the par 3 and 5 reversed. Got an email from PXG. They have a driver challenge going on right now. Bring in your driver and see if you can hit it as well as their new black ops driver that the fitter optimizes. If they cannot get you more distance or tighter dispersion they give you a hundred dollar gift card. My drives for the most part are boring. Same place, same distance, little to no variety. Which is good when it comes to golf. When I was fitted for my irons last spring I checked on a new driver. The best I hit was the Taylormade Stealth 2. It gave me 6 whole yards more distance.....for 650 dollars. A hundred dollars a yard did not seem like a bargain to me. PXG for this challenge has chopped 200 bucks off their top of the line Black Opps drivers, so Sunday I am going to take the half hour free fitting and see if I can get that gift card! Should be fun. Popular Post William P
Good morning Spies and TGIF! Well, I survived the round yesterday, but my wallet didn't... As poor as my exhibition of the game was, had a great time with colleagues on a beautiful day! Thanks for the article @GolfSpy_KFT , some new games to spice up the matches a little. Not much going on today but will definitely be getting out back and putting the net to use! Safe travels @Byrnzee and have a great time celebrating and enjoying the festivities surrounding your sister's wedding. Enjoy the time off and family trip @Jmikecpa. Will you be playing Disney courses or other local tracks? Well, my boss is eyeballing me which means its time to go cook our ritual Friday breakfast, so I guess I'd better get ready to go before I get more than "the look." Popular Post J7Hawkins
Morning all! Got some practice in yesterday and played a decent round after. However, the highlight of the day was on the range. One of the regulars on the driving range had the new Paradym AI Smoke and was hitting it and mentioned to me how well he was hitting it (we previously had the same driver) and insisted that I hit a ball to feel it. So of course I obliged and managed to pipe one nearly dead straight with a slight draw easily carrying more than my current gamer (I won’t try to guess a number). My buddy was blown away (he doesn’t hit it very far) and it was then that I told him that I toed the ball and even found the ball mark on the face halfway from the center to the toe edge, right where the “+12” mark is on their promotional graphic haha! I’ll be waiting until I can hit all the new drivers before I make any decisions but I can tell you I’ve never hit a better feeling and performing driver than the AI Smoke! jbern, rkj427, Dead Solid Bogey and 11 others 14 Quote Driver: g410 (Mitsubishi Tensei Orange 65g) | Mini Driver: BRNR Mini Copper (Kai’Li Blue 70g) | 3 Wood: LTDx (Project X HZRDUS Smoke IM10) | Utility Iron: 699 v2 Utility (20° Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black 90g) | Irons: Ai Smoke 5-AW (Project X Denali Black) | Wedges (52, 56, 60): T22 Blue Ion (DG Tour Series S400) | Putter: Versa Double-Wide Blade (Stroke Lab shaft) | Ball: RB Tour X Baseball player turned golf addict. Popular Post jbern
Good morning! My oldest daughter woke up with a fever this morning. She's in good spirits so hopefully it doesn't progress into anything else. She's fell back asleep nicely and has been resting all morning so far. Otherwise, it's a pretty standard Friday for us. I am trying to talk my wife into trying a new Greek restaurant that opened up about 20 minutes away from us. Hopefully I can persuade her to agree to some take-out. Then it's movie night with the kids (including popcorn and M&Ms). I think they chose to watch The Croods movie, which I hear is very funny. Interesting, especially after the discussion with @chisag a few days ago about touch and stroke skills Is is trying to get you to intentionally over release and close down the face and then back down to square at impact? Is your aim okay? Are you rolling your arms/hands open on the backstroke? Closing your hips? Have a rhythm problem? Basically a stroke or aim problem, but did he say what you were doing or just that you face wasn't square at impact? Face open at impact is a symptom/result but not really a cause. Without knowing a cause, I'd say ball gate drills to help ensure that you are starting the putter online, working making sure your stroke is delivering the putter square just before and just after the ball, think about square impact. If you are rotating your hands/forearms work on not rotating them. just my $0.02 as I am not your coach sirchunksalot, Rob Person, Cfhandyman and 5 others 7 1 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: Paradym AI Smoke Max HL 16.5* w/MCA TENSEI AV Series Blue Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: Render w/VA Composites Baddazz Backup Putters: Sacks Parente MC 3 Stripe, Milled Collection RSX 2 Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017

I did manage to re-build some vintage irons for my friend last night, after paint fill and replacing ferrules (which I still need to turn). A busy weekend on tap with a work/play conference in town piggybacking on the NBA All-Star game. (No, I am not going to the game, sadly.) I wish you all great days and super weekends! Popular Post Dead Solid Bogey
Late Friday morning my friends.. Friday is the launch way to the weekend, so make it yours. The new Rx’s didn’t cause any “POWER PUKING” but did have some other internal issues. Will see what day 2 brings. It was back to reality golf yesterday. Did break 90 but didn’t get close enough to breaking 80 to scare the 70’s. Surprisingly, I did increase my net worth a tad. Instead of making non-deductible donations to my golf dependents, they were the ones doing the donating. More surprisingly was that somehow ADULTHOOD / MATURITY won out in the peer group voting this morning of deciding whether to play 18 in 60 something temperature in the rain. The majority voted to pass, so NO golf today. The weather is suppose to get worse over the weekend so I may get to spend a lot of worker drone time doing the bidding of her highness. @Byrnzee Safe travels and may the new draft pick for your family be at least pro-golf if not a golfer themselves. @StrokerAce My sincere condolences for going down that rabbit hole of vehicle purchasing. At this time I will not bore or possibly scare you with how my wife-person decides on what kind and when she needs to get a different vehicle. So @Josh Parker I could actually with a clear conscience tell the totalitarian tiara wearer that an endless pool with outdoor kitchen, as part of a replacement for our worn Pergola was your idea… I like having extraordinary helpful youthful friends; makes the life of a fragile, frail, and sensitive elderly old man easier. Guest-0
1 hour ago, Dead Solid Bogey said: Not sure this is of much help.. In an earlier life had access to an endless pool. It was a partially in ground pool. So the only reason I know this is a couple nights ago well actually morning I guess as it was super late some goofy infomercial was on with a "swimspa" it was above ground and looked to be about 12ft long and maybe 4ft wide and it instead of having jets going every which way like a jacuzzi has all the water pushing from one of the 4ft wide ends so you can swim the crawl stroke and not go anywhere if you can envision a swimming treadmill??? You apparently also have the option of switching the water to the multiple jets creating the jacuzzi effect. Good idea I guess not sure where you put it as water must surely fly out of the thing. Looked to be about 4ft deep Dead Solid Bogey, Cfhandyman, cksurfdude and 6 others 8 1 Quote WITB Driver is PING G430 MAX 10K 9° W/VENTUS BLACK 44.5" TOUR VELVET GRIP 3 WOOD TAYLORMADE M2 15° W/ADDI BB TOUR VELVET GRIP IRONS PING G410 4 AND 5 IRON W/X100 IRONS 6-9 PING I200 W/X100 WEDGES TITLEIST VOKEY SM8 48° CHROME VOKEY 52° 56° AND 60 ALL IN CHROME FINISH WITH DYNAMIC GOLD AND MCC+4 GRIPS SCOTTY CAMERON TOUR RAT GSS 350G MATADOR GRIP SUN MOUNTAIN C-130 CART BAG NIKON LASER TITLEIST PRO V
