Good morning Spies, and happy early Friday!

It's Friday for me as I'm taking tomorrow off for comp time. So hopefully it's a relatively quiet day today, but I doubt it.

Chilly morning, but with lots of sunshine. Rain coming tomorrow and a 20* drop in temps.

Had my dental appointment yesterday, after waiting 8 months for it. So it's been 13 months since my last appointment. Needless to say there was a lot of poking and cleaning going on, even though apparently nothing bad to report from the dentist herself. But my gums are really sore. I just need to remember to get back on my flossing habit.

I still think that dental hygienists are closet masochists. Seriously. We're basically tied to that chair while they poke, prod, and scrape our teeth and gums until they bleed. Just a thought.

Another day, another dollar. Not a lot going on in my life, just patiently waiting for Spring... it seems to be just around the corner. Another three-day weekend coming up and even though it's going to be a little chilly on Monday, I think I'm going to try and make it a day full of golf.

@Rob Person Love the pictures! Even though I'm not a fan of dew sweeper golf, it's hard to beat those vibes!

I personally have some exciting news.. I just received a promotion at work and now get to expand a dedicated Sales Ops team for my company. I've been working on this for about 2 years so I'm very excited it finally came to fruition. On top of that the 30th B-day gift saga continues and my wife crushed it by getting me the Pins and aces beer sleeve for this season! On top of all of that I finally got my new shaft re-tipped and tried it out at Sim league this Tuesday and it is amazing. To say I've been bit by the Ventus Velocore bug is an understatement. 

Also small edit but this is my 500th post! Should've been sooner but here we are!

Good morning Spies! Busy day. Since I'm sick and tired of being tired, I have an appointment with my PCP to discuss my sleep or lack of same. I suspect there may be a referral for a sleep study on the way. Then I leave directly from her office to drive four hours to Charlotte for work (all those hotel beds are not helping my sleep either, I'm sure).

Made the rounds with the GF for Valentine's Day. Meal at her favorite Mexican restaurant, a drink at her favorite bar, then she wanted to go back to the golf sim place we visited on her birthday. We didn't hit any balls, but she enjoyed watching a couple play 17 and 18 of Pebble Beach on the sim, and particularly enjoyed watching the woman hit three straight balls into virtual Stillwater Cove off the 18th fairway. When the fourth ball finally found the rough near the 18th green, GF applauded. Then we played four games of virtual bowling, winning two each.

Update: GF just came in and was talking again about watching the couple play Pebble. I called up a photo of the 18th hole on my phone and showed it to her. She immediately recognized it as what the couple was playing, and was amazed that I knew which hole it was. I told her it was an extremely famous hole and very distinctive. I think she's looking forward to playing some sim golf with me in the garage once I get my Garmin setup going.

I have been in and out of the Forum for the last 3-4 months now since the start of winter here in Canada and with ski season being absolute trash this year due to warm weather and lack of snow, I woke up today thinking about next golf season more than ever before!

Good being back and seeing the multiple hot topics being discussed on the Forum!

Happy Thursday MGS Troops!!! It's a nice 25 degree morning here in Cheyenne WY with a high expected to be 45. Snow is in the forecast for tonight through Friday mid day. I am taking the day to recover from yesterday's two hour sim session. My legs are sore, not in golf shape yet. I did get a twinge in my shoulder yesterday from all the swings but that has since subsided. Anyway, I am researching new drivers and may have zeroed in on the Titleist TSR4. I like the smaller head profile. I think I will head down to the PGA Superstore, with my Callaway test balls in tow and try it out since I may not be able to get on a course this weekend. To all of you, Happy Birdie Hunting today!!!

Today is my Friday, as I'm headed out of town this weekend for my sister's wedding. Will be nice to reunite with family, since I don't usually see them too often outside of holidays.

Very excited to watch a lot of the Genesis Invitational today. Always a different vibe in the air when Tiger is in the field. 

Community Call day as well! Hoping to join unless some unexpected meetings pop up.

Good morning spies!

Getting pretty warm in Penticton, hovering around 6 degrees currently. Went down to our local city course yesterday for work related matters and they had picked up a GC Quad, which is a big deal here. They’re will be multiple sim options in the city now! And outdoor fittings finally! Also saw the Qi10 and AI Smoke in person as they were unboxing this years stock, such gorgeous clubs.

Got my Tour AD MJ yesterday and booked an hour on the sim. This was such a huge improvement over that HZRDUS Black Callaway sent me under warranty. Got my ball speed back into 172/174 mph territory, and club head could tip 125 again. Swinging a driver for 35 minutes really takes some effort Lol. Very excited for this shaft!

Should see documents to list our house today and finally get rid of it! Off to work for a generally easier day, take care!

Good morning everybody!

After a pretty good round yesterday and a great night's rest following, I am up early and ready to tackle the day! I have an assignment due for class today using Linux (I didn't even know Linux was still a technology). Very fun, and so the coffee is brewing. After that, a trip to the PGA Store. My gloves are scorched and I need some freshies. And then I will be stopping by Precision Golf Centers where I am going to be using their Sims for the forum testing. I got an email this morning from the owner and they are getting some new tech in soon

Good morning spy's

A tough day on the links yesterday. 

i am striking the ball probably the best I have in the past 10 years, The weather and golf course have been spectacular for February, (the greens were running 11.2 and smooth yesterday) 

The tough part was I got really agitated with 2 of my playing partners yesterday. 

Wednesday is a mixed draw and seniors day, we all put in 10$ then there is a payout for golfers that get the most stable ford points over their base points, KP's and deuces. 

For me, the only reason I play is to get to know all the seniors that play regularly and I normally don't get to play with, and most of the time it works great and I have met lots of nice golfers and built relationships with them.

Yesterday two of the players were "doodlers" and took copious amounts of (what I thought) were pre shot routines way above their skill level. 

Sort of like they are taking their perception of the play book from the elite pga golfers and bringing it to a 15 handicap senior golfer at a semi private golf course.

Usually 1 golfer in the group is ok but 2 I guess that is too much for me. 

My takeaway is either I have to quit seniors day or take this as a learning opportunity and work on breathing techniques or something that will help me get over it. Probably the latter as I don't really want to quit.

It is only 1 day a week and I don't play the spring/summer part of it as I play inter club and tournaments.

@Jim Shaw slow play really chaps my hide too. I think at heart I'm a Scot (which, given my ancestry, is not far from the truth) on the subject of pace of play. If given the opportunity, I will play in less than three hours. The first time I broke 90, many many moons ago, it was raining lightly, I had the course to myself and I played in about 2:45, and was able to get on and sustain a bit of a roll (in my case, consistent bogey golf).

just wanted to say hello & that I’m still kicking and screaming. Being MIA,  lost focus on the good stuff (Golf & MGS) has me a little nervous about just blasting through the door and yelling for a beer. 
Good news is, I feel good enough to put my clubs back in the truck and hoping to get to the range today. Back has been doing ok after PT and workouts, so I’m going to push a little more and make some swings. 
 

I was optimistic and scheduled a fitting at CC taking advantage of their $100 fitting. I have that scheduled for March 5th. I’m hoping I don’t have to cancel it.

I played with a friend, a beginner golfer, who tried do long pre shot routine on a public course on a Saturday. The marshal was not pleased at all.

Maybe try it one more time and see.

Morning all! Caught the tweet this morning from MGS about the Snell golf ball discount and snagged that while finishing my coffee. That’s a nice way to start the day! Thursday is my last workday of the week and Tiger is playing so that means dual monitor today with one on the big cat group lol. 
 

hope to see the course this afternoon if I can get work wrapped up to improve on my 87(!) from Tuesday. Shouldn’t be that hard lol

I set myself a 4, 3, and 2 week reminders on my phone of my upcoming dentist appointments so that I can cram 6 months of flossing into a one. It's worked so far!

Good morning! Woke up to a clear sky and about 0900 the blankets of snow started to fall and we now have about 4 inches of snow covering the ground! Winter is indeed NOT over. My son got a snow sled for his birthday, so he would be thrilled if we got to take that out sledding tonight. Work today is busy as usual, but I did make a smart call and went into the office for one meeting and then came home to work the rest of the day from home! I'd rather be snowed in at home than snowed in at the office!

Lots going on in this thread which is fun to see!

@SDunne - Happy 40th Birthday yesterday! I hope it was fun! My F-I-L has a v-day b-day also! I feel like Pro V1s are always a solid gift choice!

@taylorjonasher - Sorry to hear about the loss of your mom last year. Some friends of ours recently lost their son (he had a rare medical condition and was fortunate to live to 14 years old) and they are going through some of those "firsts days" that you were talking about. Last time I was with the dad, he was laughing and joking one minute and the next he was excusing himself from the room because he was crying. Tough times.

@Rob Person - Hoping your wife's surgery goes well! Also love the fog/mist ambiance in your photos!

@Swood1994 - Congrats on your promotion at work! Love seeing hard work over a long period of time pay off for people! Keep it up!

@Byrnzee - Have fun at your sister's wedding this weekend1 Hopefully they provide some screens for your to watch the big cat at the Genisis!

Good Morning...I speed training with RYPStick on Wednesday, boy did I feel it the next day.  OH and to be clear I mean I felt the affects of just the warmup not even the actual session    Shows you just how out of shape you can get during the winter layoff.    

But I enjoyed it and I think it's definitely going to help.  Weill be interesting to see what sort of on course difference it makes in my driver shootout by the time it's all said and done.

Cool Central Florida Morning, but no wind - 57 degrees at 7am tee off, made for a nice 18 hole walk.  The only thing that was cold, was my putter! LOL.
