Top o the morning  to you all ! For their old Buckeye today is a huge day for our mental health !  TTUN is formidable and this should be a great game ( we can only hope ) ! So no golf today but I usually don’t play weekends since I retired , try to save a couple days for the better half . So if you’re playing , good luck , lots of birdies and eagles , be blessed !

Go Bucks !

Good morning, everyone. My last lazy Saturday for a few weeks until we get to Christmas break. No basketball practice so that means I get to watch some soccer, Euro tour golf and then some good collegel football matchups this afternoon. Now, on to my second cup of coffee. Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Good chilly Morning!!

Hey you upstate guys couldn't you keep your 30s temps up there? 😉

Speaking of upstate and F1 .. watched a fun vid on YouTube yesterday that was an old episode of "Swap Seats" .. it was at Watkins Glen and had Tony Stewart taking Lewis Hamilton's F1 car around the track while Hamilton drove Stewart's NASCAR winner. They didn't race head to head but they did show a lot of cockpit views from each car.

Anyway today is our family feast day so skipping breakfast and prob lunch, too! 😄

Hope you fun and relaxing day today - or at least not too stressful and annoying for those who have to do that 4-letter word "work" thing today..!!

Good Morning everyone!  A bitter, cold 21º this morning so I canceled my round of golf.  Maybe the course will open around noon once it gets above freezing, but just not worth the trip.  My wife might play with the ladies group if they go.  I'll stick to the hitting bay today.  Hope your Saturday is pleasant and you are able to hit the links!!

Good morning All,

Not much planned for today, so I’m going to try to squeeze in some time with the simulator between whatever SWMBO comes up with to fill it.

Have a great Saturday!

Good morning MGSpies from slept in but needed it in (yes Chuck @cksurfdude it's 32 here) WNY from a second day of food coma thanks to Thanksgiving leftovers.  Good thing we are going to celebrate son's birthday with a restaurant dinner late this afternoon on the waterfront!

Had to replace the vehicle battery yesterday after it failed to start the vehicle after the Turkey Trot downtown on Thursday and experienced sticker shock, haven't bought one in easily 20 years - that is a car payment but the design is so much better.  Relived the joy of vehicle maintenance with lazy snowflakes providing a seasonal ambiance and forgot how cold hands work not so well.

Still waiting to see what assignments come my way so will keep the focus golf and all things fun until then!  Oh yes dear, gotta go...

And hope golf is a part of your day! ⛳

You haven't bought a car battery in like 20 years?   They typically only last maybe 7-10 years; how do you make them last so long?

20 years is impressive for a battery.  My car just turned 10 years old and haven't had any battery issues.  I was surprised that my car battery is located in the trunk!!

It's Western NY, our vehicles rarely last that long due to road salt spread liberally on the roads to make "normal" life possible regardless of temperature and precipitation when freezing conditions are present.  Continuous salt baths are no different than driving a 4WD down the ocean beach and it is too cold to hose it all off every day from windows to frame.  Local car washes are so popular we have a chain that have memberships with privileges and lines of vehicles anytime the temp rises.

So the impressive part is it was the original battery with the 2014 Equinox including convenience package so lots of electronics that keep the battery cycling its charge.  Previous vehicles did not suffer from needing a battery replacement dating all the way back to the last battery I remember purchasing for a 1978 Volare station wagon which was my 3rd of 10 vehicles I have driven and also for 8 of wife's vehicles.  If any of those were replaced without my knowledge during my deployments overseas or stateside I would probably not know as she totaled one (thankfully no injuries) and traded in another while I was away of military duty, so replacement of whatever and not being informed would not surprise me considering the information gaps that are occasionally discovered that are always passed off as "you weren't there."

So a correct statement would be , "I have not replaced a vehicle battery myself and been aware of the cost of doing so in 20 years."

Whoa…. Where did today get to?? Friday was spent with the bargain hunting bride. Evidently, there is a chapter of the capricious consuming capitalist Secret Society of Spending Spouses almost everywhere in the USA. Wife met up with some like minded members of the local coven to celebrate the high holy day of Black Friday.. I went along as a dutiful beast of burden. We went to some mega temple of spending that had 140 outlet options… Not only did we go into seemingly every store option, when finished, she who spends, bemoaned the fact of only having that “ few” store options. So, the wife person decided that once again we would enter the shopping breech and visit every store again.
I spend all Friday night liberating catalytic converters to fund the purchases. I had to sell plasma before teeing off this morning just to get green fees.
Enjoyed the round, the fairways were lush and more receptive than some greens that I have played at home and at other courses. Didn’t totally embarrass myself, but still “ boat raced “ my handicap.
One final note for the night… So, @Jim Shaw are you sure central gulf coast Florida isn’t part of Canada 🇨🇦
The Canadian flag is almost as prevalent as the flag of the USA around here.
Another round of golf in on for morning to look forward to. The “Empress of Economic Stimulus” is soaking her hand and wrist in ice water, she believes that her wrist is sprained from so much credit card swiping, tapping, and iPhone app payment usage.
Enjoy the rest of your Saturday, my friends.

Good morning and happy Sunday spies! I awoke earlier than needed so that I could prepare breakfast before I watch the final round of the F1 season. Went to let the dogs out and was greeted by a couple inches of the white stuff all over my yard. I knew it was coming but it doesn’t mean that I have to like it. At least it will only last a few days before it all melts off.

Hope that everyone has a great day!

Final day of my work weekend,  and it can't go by fast enough!  Already have a round scheduled for Tuesday,  going to use that to play out the rest of the Titleist Test balls. Then it's off to a new Indoor range locally that just opened up on Wednesday!  Raining here, so it's keeping misfit wannabees low key so far.

YO,Yo,yo Sunday my friends… Tee time in a little over 2 hours from now. Have had some nice idiots luck so far on this impromptu trip. Found a nice rental house with pool within 8 miles of all four courses that I will be playing. There does seem to be a golf course on every street intersection, so finding courses close to where we are staying wasn’t that great a challenge or such a brilliant effort.
I have suggested to the “ Countess of Consumption “  that while I play golf, that she cannot combine being a tourist with shopping. Trying to convince her that all the Alligators and Pythons she might encounter on the near by nature trail are NOT there to be chosen as bag or shoe options. Good Morning everyone!  Another cold start of the day at 22º this morning with freezing fog until 11am.  Our course opened yesterday at 11:30; I doubt they will be open today, maybe after noon.  Cold continues until Friday when we get a few showers.  Great!!  Rain and the ground is nearly frozen so it doesn't soak in very fast.  Just resting up today after coffee and my exercises.  Stay safe and warm and play well if you get the chance!
