Refinishing old irons

Recently purchased a set of titleist 704 CBS, they have some dings and scratches, and the grooves look a little worn. Any ideas on where to send them and also roughly how much it would cost? I have thought about trying to get the heads to have a black finish, but paint will usually chip off. Any thoughts?

Have you or anyone you know, done a black oxide finish DIY style?

Paint will chip and flake.  I do too.  The new tech for black irons is a process where the black is baked into the metal and is apparetnly pretty permanent.   BTW Jim Kronus is theironfactory guy and he also has his own line of Kronus wedges.

Golfworks will refinish them for you, cost will depend on what processes you want done. I had a wedge refinished a few years ago and it ran me about 25.00. 

You may want to ask McGolf, He is a master club builder and he may have a better answer.

You may also want to look at Flannigan Built Putters. Don’t let the name deceive you. They do much more than putters. Some pretty amazing stuff. I have no idea on their pricing.

The Iron Factory is a no go for me personally. I had something restored a few years ago and it didn’t work out so well.
