Played on Saturday early afternoon after we had a frost delay in the morning.

Winds were howling, temperatures did make it to mid 50's by the end, but we also played the last 3 holes in the rain.

Still a great time, and always happy and grateful to be able to get out on a real course in March here in Michigan.

My par was on the 3rd hole number 7 handicap.

Ironically, combined my first score plus your score gives us a 74 with 3 birdies, and my second score with your score gives us 74 with 1 birdie. 

I’m playing today and it will be a muddy mess, but only a 6 mph wind. Who knows how that will turn out? But since I can’t use my handicap that second score will be hard for me to beat because the second one would be a 68 with 2 birdies and an eagle with my handicap.

This was the first round outside and the course just opened up, some good things, some bad. Wind was 30km most of the day and the first 5 holes were head on. Greens were still punched from the fall so nothing moved, also ended up hitting a buried rock under my ball with my Vokey and destroyed the leading edge… so that was fun. Had a guy pick up my ball in the bunker, then realize it could be mine annd drop it into a fried egg All in all, I was really happy to be golfing outside but this was certainly a pretty lousy round.

Played a course in Australia, pins were in really hard locations, and of course the SIM had to do some SIM things like 1000 spin on full 60 degree swings, had some drivers that made no sense and read pretty wrong. Played better than the result but that’s a video game!!!

I put course handicap at 0 assuming we’re still doing that.

Played Stryker GC in Fayetteville NC on Wednesday.  Finally home and able to put this post in.  I will need help to get this all in right.

Longest drive - 220 yards.

Walking with push cart, lots of water and temps higher than I have played in since the previous summer.  Not bad for first round since December 23, 2023 which amazingly was on the same course  this time 5 shots lower than the Dec round

1st round of NCGA Matchplay.  It was the round of all over the place.  OB tee shot on 1, but rolled a 45 foot putt to save bogey….1 gross birdie on the day and some solid shots.  Getting back into the swing

Well, I went out and tried my hardest. I thought it was possible to go low today. -2 through 5 holes, in spite of a less than stellar driver swing. Sadly, it began to catch up starting on hole 6. I didn’t even come close to better than 80 or more than 3 birdies or 74 and 1 birdie. 
 

It doesn’t matter which of my scores are used, neither of them beat @Golf2Much and his net 66 even when combined with @GolfSpy_SHARK. I didn’t even look at @GolfSpy_APH’s scores.

Weather has gotten much better and was in the 60s the last round I played.  Unfortunately, it was a stinker of a round.  The back half of that round was looking up and was hitting bogies and scaring par a few times.  However, had to cut it short and didn't play the last three holes.  Net double bogey is bad for best ball.

I did three rounds this week just to hedge my bets.  The middle round is the one I'm posting.  The first round was a better overall score, but only managed a couple of net birdies, so am throwing it out.  The middle round is what I present to you.  My calculation gets us to net par, with only one wasted birdie between myself and @rkj427.

I would love to say more about my round but I am running out of time for the weekend haha. 

It was a really good round! There were a lot of things I could have done differently. Way too many bogeys that should not have been. 

However, there was a lot of good. I had some decent birdies, and the one eagle was on a par 4! That was epic. Out here hole 15 is a very short downhill par 4. The wind was also swirling so I had no idea what to hit. I took a 6 iron to be safe because going behind the hole would be a disaster. With the hard pan ground, we were playing on my usually normal 214-yard 6 iron went 280 yards! and I was about 15 - 20 feet for eagle. My putt was perfect and drip right into the hole for an epic eagle!

I do hope my score helps us out @GolfSpy SAM!

Nice work!  We covered each other pretty well - my 2 net-eagles definitely help (holes 2 and 6 for me), at the very least, which is about all I could hope for, lol.  I've got us tabulated as -8 for the round - no bogeys on the card which is pretty incredible, as well as three eagles and (thanks to you) 3 birdies.  While it MIGHT not be enough ( I haven't been keeping track of anyone else in our group), at least we made a strong showing!

I think you made an error. Gross 73 is 2 over and with your course handicap should be -1 not -4.
