Kenny B
A slow Father's Day, but my wife and I decided to play anyway. We were paired with a father/son; the dad was the same age as I am. Nice guys, but not very good players. We spent quite a bit of time helping look for their balls. They wanted to play from the senior tees. I moved up and my wife moved back so we could all tee off together. I birdied #1, so I said my usual... "I could break the course record, theoretically." Usually, that's when the wheels fall off. But I followed it up with two pars and another birdie on #4. Then the wheels came off. Shot 42 on the front, but I added another birdie #13 and shot 36 on the back nine for a round of 78. I had a lot of fun playing from the senior tees. My wife... not so much. She shot 95 which is 8 shots worse than her usual score from the forward tees. cksurfdude, Rickp, MattF and 1 other 4 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

BigtazzGolf
The Father's day round was a lil iffy. Tee box and putting was great. Even shots from the rough was good. My downfall were the middle of the fairway shots. Skulled probably 7 perfect fairway lies. Killed my front 9. No idea why I kept popping up but I did lol. Front side 51 and 40 on the back. The driver and putter saved me yesterday. Putting it behind me to get ready for our next league round. Peanut05
Played in a two man scramble Saturday morning. Didn't play my best, but it was enough to pull out second place. For some reason lately, I seem to be losing my driver off to the right which is causing me to not have very many good shots into the greens. I've got another tournament this afternoon, so hopefully I can find it before that one starts. MDGolfHacker
Played yesterday for Father's Day since my daughter was heading out of town with my mother in law for a graduation trip. Played The Renditions Golf Course which had replicas of famous holes from courses around the world - August, Shinnecock Hills, etc... Took the Cobras out for it's maiden voyage that I received for forum testing and shot an 87 from the blue tees. Need a few more range sessions to get used to the fairway woods (topped way too many of them) and to get more comfortable with the distances for each club. Next time out with them will be league on Wednesday. MDGolfHacker cksurfdude, MattF, Nunfa0 and 3 others 6 Quote What's In This Lefty's Bag? cksurfdude
Getting closer to playing bogey golf .. and hopefully a little under in the not too distant future! On the short 9-hole where I play often I've just gone Par, Bogey (after a topped tee shot), Par (saved with a great chip), Bogey (after I pulled my approach left but pin high). Short game has generally been solid, and improving. So if I keep working on getting off the tee well I'm hoping this translates onto regulation courses - also been working on approaches from 150 and in. cnosil and MDGolfHacker 2 Quote WITB of an "aspiring" play-ah ... MaxEntropy
I did a little experiment during my league tonight. The driver has been a very bad boy, so I put him in timeout and went 3w off every appropriate tee. 57% fairways hit and all misses were to the right (some slight, a couple not so much), which is certainly more manageable than the way my driver had been. If only my short game would have been a bit more up to snuff, I could have scored better. 47 total with 17 putts. cksurfdude
Thought I was gonna get close to (the current goal of..) bogey golf this afternoon on a regulation 9-hole .. until I pulled a stupid double due to a flubbed chip .. followed by a horrible blow-up hole (a 9! ..lost the first tee shot then topped the second - on a Par 5...) .. followed by a dumb 3-putt double..... But did hit a bunch of nice balls, and even 3 or 4 actually good tee shots. Also escaped 2 bunkers in one shot each; first worked out well but second was thin and ran thru the green. First bunker actually hit my PW too far thru a dogleg .. couldn't see the landing and thought I was laying up in the fairway. Hogan, I believe, said it's "..a game of opposites" Aim one way .. ball goes the other way; swing easier .. ball guess further; harder hole? .. better score. Possibly that last one (also happens to me) is because we may be focusing *better* on the harder holes and shots .. really paying attention to, and being careful with everything, including... aim, alignment, stance, grip and grip pressure, posture and balance throughout the swing, good contact and a balanced finish, and etc etc etc. Quote WITB of an "aspiring" play-ah ... Popular Post Kor.A.Door
So tomorrow, June 23, after 5 or so years of being in the forum, I have, for the first time, a tee time set up with a fellow spy. John Smalls and I are headed out to Chester here in SC. Looking forward to meeting him and having a good day on the course. We may even do 9 holes for the Hard Rock challenge. Either way. It will be fun to get out there with another spy. PING Apologist #9
Have a great time out there fellas! Excited to hear how it went and indeed try the Hard Rock Challenge-it's good twisted fun! kardboard.kid and fozcycle 2 Quote In my DLX Cart Bag: Driver: G410 SFT, set to 9.5*, Mitsubishi Tensei CK Orange 60, stiff (MGS Official 2019 Tester) 3W: G-Series SF TEC, set to 16*, Aldila Tour Blue ATX, 65g, stiff 5W: G400 SFT, set to 19*, Aldila Tour Blue ATX, 65g, stiff 7W: G410 SFT, set to 22*. ole gray
I hopped on the course this morning at 6:45 a.m. and flew around faster than a rabbit in a carrot hunt. They were having a North Ga. Jr. Tournament at my course today starting at 9:30 so off I went. I hit my driver very well along with the HB irons I'm testing were delicious. Did I say delicious? Yea they are soooooooo much fun to game however you will hear a lot more about this once our reviews are staged. I'll also give a nod to my Square Strike Wedge as that puppy was money this morning. Pretty much automatic from anywhere around the greens. I can't leave Betty out of the discussion as she was smoking hawt too. Anyways I raced in with an 81ish score as I did pick up some really close chips instead of putting out. I had to be off the course for the tournament and I made 18 holes in just under 2 1/2 hours.
