What's Your Favorite Iron Shaft?

Absolutely love the KBS Tour C taper lite x flex shafts. Have been using for a couple years now and won’t be switching for the foreseeable future.

By far the best Iron shaft I have used, had them in my previous set Cobra CB/MB combo set and loved them!

I have always wanted to try the Modus shafts. Never found a good set to give them a go, but intrigued.

I wouldn't say hidden gem, but as they aren't stock shafts for many companies you don't see them as much.

Just had a long time dynamic gold/PX playing friend switch and he's dissapointed he didn't try them sooner.

Like a few others, I haven't tried too many iron shafts. My current iron shafts are Project X 6.0 and they have been my favorite of irons that I've gamed. I hit the graphite Mitsubishi MMT 80 and KBS TGI 80 shafts at a PXG a while back and really liked them. I've been trying to find a good deal on a set of either of them to try in my gamer irons.

Got fitted for my Miura CB57 irons in 2016.  Having elbow issues I wanted graphite shafts.  Ended up with Accra iSeries 70i shafts.  Very smooth.  Load smoothly and dispersion is quite good.  After 8 years I still have no desire to change these irons/shafts for something newer. A well struck ball is still a thing of beauty.

My Edison 2.0 have KBS PGI 70 g graphite shafts.  Seem to be on par with the Accra.

KBS Tour 120. Fits me perfectly. I have gamed just about everything from S300, 400, X100, PX, Rifle, Modus3, C-Taper, S-Taper, and a few graphite options. The Tour 120 is perfect for my swing.

I've been fitted into the True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 in the latest set of irons.  I Tried out a handful of shafts during the fitting, but sticking with the same shaft (but newer) as what I've previously had worked the best.  My swing probably have morphed to work with the Dynamic Gold shafts as this was my first fitting.  I think it all depends on the player and their swing, I have buddies that hit the ball a similar distances, but plays play shafts nothing like mine.

I currently have the LA Golf Tour AXS Blue 105g shafts in my irons. I think they are awesome. I actually got fit for a set of irons at TrueSpec and wasn't sold. So was like I want this shaft, let's do another fitting with only that shaft. I was able to do that because they comped me the first fitting. Super happy with them.

Though I have tried the Nippon Modus3 shaft and like that too.  I would probably take those next time to save $100 per club

I know that is a "correct" answer, but let's live a little!

What's been your favorite or maybe a better way to put it. When you go for a fitting what is the first shaft you try and it is one you know that you typically like or get on well with.

We start with whatever I have at the time.

if I had to just pick a shaft it would be recoil 110

How did you like the Proto 110's? I have a set of Recoil Prototype 125's that I'm going to be building a set of Maltby TS1-IM's with Max Milled wedges. Always curious to hear more about other people's experiences with them.

I haven’t noticed a difference between the 110 and 110 proto. I’m a fan of the shaft. I like the feel and balance. They swing weight well

I'm using the Project X 5.5 graphite shafts in my irons, which have been soft stepped.  Had been a steel guy before getting the Sub 70s, but after discussing it with Jason the Sub. 70 owner, we came to the conclusion that this set up would be best, which it has turned out to be.  I have added the Best Grip standard leather grips, and it gives me a great feel and balance.

I love the Modus 120 shafts I am currently using. I get similar numbers with the DG 120’s but my consistency was better with the Modus. I also like the Modus 115 when testing and actually got a slightly flatter flight with them which I prefer. But found. Good deal on the 120’s and snagged them

I've used the AMT S300 in both my previous Cobra Forged etc, and now my current T200's, really enjoy (ed) them.

In my 790's, I have Accra i80's, and they are great as well, got a lighter swing weight, a bit easier to launch, really like them.

One I will be assembling this coming weekend (c'mon UPS plane!) into the T200's will be some FreeFlex iX 90 shafts.

Played around with one in my 7i for 10 or so rounds so far, and they remind me an awful lot of the Accra's.

Lighter, easier to swing, bit more comfort etc on wonky shots. Hope they work as well in the rest of the stocks as they do in the 7!

we got a pool and a pond... the pond would be good for you

I've always been a TT DG S400 player and they are the go to whenever I try anything new. That said,  last season I tried the AMT tour white X100. Got them early in the season and am going to stick with them this season. Not sure they're better than the S400 but the difference might be negligible.
