Goodwill or thrift store shopping

Bogey in The Woods

Recommended Posts

So have you ever found a really suprising find at a Goodwill or Salvation Army type store?

Last week, the wife and I went in to a Goodwill and she pointed out to me to extremly pink golf bags covered in a flower print. I made fun of them. When we got home, she looked up the name of the golf bags "Birdie Babe", which I had never heard of.

Needless to say, the were $195 bags. so we ran back and scooped them both up for $30.

My wife has sold one to her friend and she is putting the other up on eBay.

ANyone else ever had any amazing finds like that?

I get so many really good golf shirts and shoes at my local Mormon Goodwill (called Deseret Industries) that now a cousin and I now tag-team hit it twice a week.  We scoop up anything nice before it sits long.   Yesterday I came home with 3 blemish free Ashworths and a pair of black Foot Joys, spent $14.   I can never find good clubs though.

I do it all the time at my local GW. With me being big and tall in general I do have problems finding clothes in general. A few years ago I found some Bobby Chan shirts for $3.00 apeice even though they did not fit me I bought 10 of them but sold them for $15 each. I collect classic clubs and I have gotten quite a few there. Recently I scored a Scratch 60 and Hogan Special Forged 51* for $2.99 each. I also pick up odds and ends for the shop there

I seldom find any good golf stuff in Goodwill or Thrift stores, but I will say there's a fellow my size in the area that donated some very nice suits - lol
