I think I've put my rooting interest into Purdy and the 49ers.  What a story it would be for the last pick in the draft to be the super bowl winning QB!  Of course, old man Tom is still out there too... Monday night's game should be fun!

Happy for them, but do feel bad for the chargers. I think they are probably the better team as a whole. What a good finish to the game though!

Debatable. I think stuff like this that’s iffy needs to be let go across the board. If I was a ref real time it was probably close enough you just don’t see it they’re so fast.  If they called it a penalty I would say the same thing.
 

I could lick apart penalties in slow motion. Hind sight is 20/20

... Saw it live and screamed off sides at the TV screen. As an ex QB I have no problem with no flag LOL. But watching what my 1st team all conference DE son went through in college (shameless bragging) to get to the QB from training and practice to actual games I hate they didn't throw the flag. They already fudge letting OT's line up practically in the backfield, so jumping and not calling it really pi$$es me off.

Just as many defensive ends line uo in the neutral zone and jump too, doesn’t get flagged, it’s both sides and if anything I would argue if anything should have been flagged it should have been holding. Bosa played him like a fiddle because OL was so committed to the outside rush he made him bite and cut back in…..wicked hold

... Yea, not a fan of a DE getting a head start either. All things equal a gifted DE has the advantage and the offense will need to add a TE or RB chipping them and even id they don;t get a sack, they can change a game. 

Oh boy feeling nostalgic in this cold weather so please excuse a proud Dad brag. My sons senior year in college he had 4 sacks in the first 3 games and came up again the eventual NAIA champions in game 4. He had a frustrating game with zero sacks after getting to the QB 7 times and knocking him down 3. Seems he was always double teamed and faced additional TE's and RB's. They lost and he was a little depressed because he didn't help his team enough. After the game the OC of the other team found us and told my son what an honor it was to compete against him. Said watching game film he devised a plan to specifically stop him and if they did so they would win. After the first half he reemed his offense for "letting" my son get through double teams AND a 3rd RB and they still couldn't keep him off their QB. He said that is the best game he have ever seen from an opposing defensive player and he expects to see my son in the NFL so he just had to find him and it would be an honor to shake his hand. The MLB and HC was standing near us and heard every word. The HC told the story before watching film on Monday, so watch #7 and demanded every player give the same effort not only in games but in practice as well.

Ummm……maybe not.  3rd qtr Buffalo just regained the lead 27-24.  Miami not a pushover.

Not going to lie didn't even realize the games were going on. 

With being in europe I am use to most games starting about now!

... I feel just a little sorry for teams with QB's like Cousins. He is better than 90% of the QB's that played in Chicago but I digress. You don't just get rid of a Cousins because the chances of finding someone better is pretty slim. I would make the same argument for several QB's around the league. As you stated, he might get you there but just can't elevate his game to a franchise QB when everyone knows he has to throw. Few can. When everything on the line he has a propensity to make a bad decision. Just soooooo many bad NFL QB's with a healthy handful of good QB's and elite QB's you can pretty much count with the fingers on one hand. It is s testament to how hard that position is at the highest level as an avalanche of truly great college QB's couldn't make it in the NFL. And why do many GM's use Ouiga Boards when drafting one.

 

... 9 GM's passed on Mahomes. In the 2000 draft GM's selected Chad Pennington in round 1, Giovanni Carmazzi/Chris Redman in round 3, Tee Martin in round 5 and Marc Burger/Spergon Wynn were takin in round 6 before the Patriots selected Brady.

Yea it’s not even a bash really. I like the guy a lot and really feel bad. For me the last two throws were a full synopsis of his mental breakdown at the end of games where it’s all on the line. Can’t throw the ball when you HAVE to get 8 and when the receiver catches it he still needs to run for 7….easier said than down I know.

lol you don’t need to tell me about Brady. I lived it! It’s why I believe in the mental aspect, one could argue maybe Kirk had it and lost it with all the pressure and name of “choker”. Hey even Peyton manning was much of the same all those years he just couldn’t get to the big dance….until he did

... I have never been a Kirk fan for the very reason you described. Another thing that drives me insane is QB's that take a sack on 4th down past the 50 yd line. You tell yourself before you even get the snap "I have to THROW IT because it is as good as a punt if I get picked". Being behind and taking a sack on 4th down at the end of a game is either just panic or incompetence.

That and how many DBs still pick it? Sooooooo many.

2) get the ball to the damn sticks on 3rd or 4th downs if you’re passing

Miami is a GOOD football team.  New season and I am not even a little bit surprised to see the Dolphins play us so tight.  Mike McDaniels is awesome and he is going to be trouble for the Bills this next decade.  Skylar played far better than any of us expected and made a game of it.  I have my own thoughts but I always revert to this…

When you’re a good football team, you can afford to make mistakes and still win.  The Bills from 10 years ago would have rolled over and died.
