Popular Post fixyurdivot
Top of the pot spies . It's that time of year here when the Morning Doves sound like roosters greeting sunrise. Spring has sprung and between them and the Quail, no one needs an alarm clock if you're leaving windows open at night to gather in the cool desert air. We haven't had to run the AC yet and are trying to hold off for as long as the weather allows. Speaking of the Quail, it's "walnut time" here as well... that is when they scurry about with their clutch of newbies. They absolutely do look like walnuts with legs . Have a great Sunday everyone. Popular Post Kenny B
Good Morning everyone!! Another breezy 20-30mph, mostly cloudy day here, temp around 60º at tee off. Back to our usual course this morning, which surprisingly has a lower rating and slope, but I find it more difficult to play and I play here all the time. Yesterday was interesting to say the least as we played a course we haven’t played in about a year. A desert-style course where being off the fairways is… well, not good. I managed an 81 with two doubles, which I’m happy with. Played with a father/son; son’s first time out on the course. Even though they played a scramble, it was slow but there was no where to go; two 4-somes in front of us that were backing up all of us and no marshal. Dinner afterwards with a couple of “pain killers” (my wife’s new favorite drink… look it up) helped her attitude! I stuck with a nice Irish Stout! Have a super Sunday and best wishes for a great round of golf!! sirchunksalot, Byrnzee, Josh Parker and 15 others 18 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
Popular Post EnderinAZ
Good morning spies! Haven't posted for a while, my brothers have been here for a visit. first time in 45 years of marriage that my older brother and his wife have come to see us. Great time, but it is time for the house to be ours again. Their politics lean way over one way and talking with them always leads to my brain feeling like it is full of angry bees. I am a no party centrist and feel that politicians should govern for the middle and that rubs the rest of the family the wrong way. Oh well Tuesday and the house is ours again. Feeling good after the surgery and will start the short game practice again on Tuesday with hopes that the doc will release me from no golf purgatory after the 5th of May or so. Did 40 miles on my bike yesterday to stay sort of fit. @MN_Hacker I love the art work. I have to take down my work table when I am not welding or fitting and it is heavy. So no art work while I am healing. @Dead Solid Bogey Shoe shopping? Like going into shoe stores and watching the Mrs. look at Shoes??? Makes me think of Billy Joel's Piano Man And the piano, it sounds like a carnival And the microphone smells like a beer And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar And say, "Man, what are you doin' here?" Popular Post Byrnzee
Good morning all! Had a great day yesterday with a fun round of golf with friends and some dinner and drinks at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants afterwards. I didn't play my best (20-30mph winds didn't help), but still had a good time nonetheless! @Rob Person and @fixyurdivot I have failed you by forgetting to take pictures! I'm always bad at documenting my rounds as I try to just enjoy the moment. For anyone that hasn't seen the course, their website has a flyover of each hole. #16 is my personal favorite! I'll post about my round in the "How Did You Play" thread shortly. @Preeway I'm glad to hear you and your family are safe. My in-laws live in Omaha and luckily the storms missed them as well. Terrible to see some of the damage that has affected that area. @ZoonORama I'm terribly sorry for your loss. You have the whole community hear sending thoughts and prayers your way. Time heals all wounds. @TJ Hall happy birthday! Sounds like you have a great day planned. Enjoy it! Seeing a movie later this afternoon, but should be a pretty chill day otherwise. Popular Post William P
Good Sunday morning Everyone! Started out here with one heck of a light show accompanied with the usual rumbling cacophony of thunder. Was quite the show! 3 inches of rain in a little over 4 hours and everything is saturated... No golf activity on the horizon today. Thoughts and prayers with those less fortunate who have been uprooted by this sever weather pattern. Today will be spent preparing and packing for my trip to Myrtle Beach tomorrow. I sure hope this weather dissipates and does not follow me to my destination. Happy Birthday @TJ Hall! Popular Post Dead Solid Bogey
Manic Monday morning is here and will be hard pressed to undo the superlative Sunday evening I just enjoyed. The family’s fearless female spared what was left of my sanity and spirit by infusing me with another jaunt down memory lane. After almost two days of dealing with repurposing jewelry and looking at shoes… My reward was an excellent evening at The Rolling Stones concert. I am still pretty hyped about the concert.. There were a lot of nursing homes missing residents tonight as the elderly were out past curfew. Not sure what the cost was for this Special Couple’s Day ( weekend ) .. I am sure the Budget Busting Bride will drop that number on me at breakfast. Until then I am just going to bed and hope to “ get some satisfaction “ in the sleep department. Popular Post ejgaudette
Good morning all! Had a lovely weekend that kicked off on Friday with a quick afternoon 9 that had things coming around a bit putting was better, irons felt a bit better. Also got paired up with someone which was a great match. Both took things seriously but not too seriously, it was a good match. Wife and I had a date afternoon with a hike, looking at some mountain bike (need to keep up with our son) and then some quick food. Sunday was more low key hanging around the house before visiting our neighbors for a fire and some dinner. Looking forward to the week with some good weather, just need to keep the bugs at bay.
