Popular Post sirchunksalot
Good morning everyone! It's a nicer morning here than yesterday with all the storms that rolled through. The community call yesterday was great and I enjoyed getting to talk to those of you that made it. I'm happy we've reached the last day of the work week here, initially we were supposed to work tomorrow and they cancelled it due to equipment issues. I might try to get out this evening for some range time or maybe go tomorrow before the wife gets up since she has me on the schedule to do yard work with her. I hope you all have a wonderful Friday! Popular Post Dead Solid Bogey
Good Friday morning MGS.. A more livable temperature in the offing for the day. Should stay in the 90’s for a high today. We are near a state highway and had a couple of visitors yesterday. Border Patrol came by twice, informing us of two vehicle chases near to us that ended in bail outs and run aways. None of the “ uninvited guests “ were seen by us. Since I will not be home for “ Mothers Day “ and safely in the Cartel Sanctuary, I decided to send the following to a couple of her high highness’s loyal minions….. I am positive that said minions will be sure that her magnificent majesty will be sent a copy of this. Excited and fearful of what the Great Girl’s response will be. Popular Post Wheelieb
Morning All, Well that was a “fun” thing to have done yesterday with the colonoscopy. It did reveal I have diverticulosis, which is before diverticulitis. I’ll do a Tl;Dr version. Everyone has diverticula (small pockets) in their colon, the “osis” is just inflammation of the diverticula. If left untreated or watching what foods cause pain, it can lead to the “itis” which is the diverticula being infected cause the food got lodged in it. I already know certain foods to stay away from. But this is also trial by what causes the inflammation still. with that out of the way. This morning I have to go get my tires rotated and make sure they are aligned properly. Hoping it doesn’t take forever, and if not I’m going to try to get out for a quick 9. Then I have to replace belts on my riding lawn mower. That’s going to be fun. Hope everyone has a great day. Popular Post ParFore74x
It’s official, mother nature does not want me playing golf. Rained pretty much all day yesterday and it was downpouring when I left work so I was soaked. When I arrived home , I saw a couple of the gutters were overflowing even though I just cleaned them out a couple of weeks ago. Climbed a ladder in the rain, doesn’t even sound smart as I type it, and cleared the first one which was just a small twig and a handful of leaves. The second gutter had nothing blocking on top so I had to take the elbows apart to discover a wasp nest the size of my fist in the elbow. At least it was completely soaked and dormant so that was cool. Gutters cleared, again, soaked to the bone and no golf. Oh well. Today it will be mid 70s and clear although my daughter has an out-of-town soccer game at 4:15 so bo golf today either. Good weather is in the forecast for the next week so I’m very hopeful that all of this will change soon. Stay safe in that weather your way @Rob Person Makes my rain no big deal at all. I have a 0620 tee time set up for 9 in hopes I can get in some time BEFORE the yard work! We have a lot of seedlings that now need to get into the ground: our general rule of thumb is nothing gets planted prior to Mother's Day just in case frost bites them! Can't have all these veggies and flowers that I start from seed every year getting tanked because of one lousy night of hard frost! But that's my gameplan for Saturday: if the weather holds that is. It's yet another dreary, overcast, drizzly/rainy morning here in Maryland (also known at times as Absurdistan) and the weatherman is saying cool and 30% chance of rain tomorrow morning as well. Rain, as a rule of thumb, doesn't stop me from playing: just lightning and snow. Well, the boss is beckoning: Hope everyone has a fantastic Friday and that golf figures into your plans as well! Popular Post Shrek74
Good morning, Spies!! Happy TGIFF!! It's a beautiful clear and sunny Friday morning at 60*. Granted the high is only going to be 65*, that sun is a very welcome sight. We get to enjoy it for the weekend, which is a wonderful change of pace compared to the heavy thunderstorms we've had off and on this week. Golf is planned for Sunday morning, which looks to be clear and sunny with a high of 72*. So that'll be nice to get another round in the books and in the VCT. Plus I need more reps before the Kingsmill trip in a few weeks. Dad and I are going to try and play in the Member-Member this year, now that I'm here full-time. It's a 2-day event 8/10-8/11 where we play Best Ball on 2 different courses (same GC, but it has 2 courses). Dad usually doesn't play back-to-back, but he's going to make an exception for this. I have a feeling my handicap won't be coming down much this year as he wants to try and keep both of ours higher for the tournament (only post the higher scores). Not sure how I feel about this. My goal is to get mine down around a 15 by years end, and this will obviously hinder than effort. This assumes I actually get better, but that's the plan from here on out - improve, even if just tiny steps forward. I'll see how my game and score does over the next few couple months and deal with it then. I don't like the idea of "sand-bagging" being done to me, which is why I'll likely not do it myself. Club-fitting scheduled for Monday afternoon, which is another reason why golf on Sunday is a good thing. I'm likely going to focus on Mizuno and Titleist for irons, and an unsure exactly for driver/woods/hybrids, but it might be the same. Irons right now are the most important as my current ones just aren't getting it done. I wasn't fit for them, it was just a shot in the dark kind of thing. At D6 swing weight, they don't feel nearly as comfortable as some demo clubs I hit that were closer to D0-D2. But it'll be an enjoyable experience as the fitter is highly regarded in the area and their facility is just crazy (Fairwarys & Greens, Knoxville, TN). Tomorrow's plan is to get to the range for 2 items - more iron swing practice, BRNR & Apex UW testing. Those two clubs I got over the winter and am really interested in seeing if they can make the bag, especially the BRNR. I've been without any type of driver for a few years now and hoping that the in-between size and shorter length helps get me more yards for now while I work on my driver swing (live in the heel of the head with driver).
