Good afternoon for some and morning for others!

I hope everyone had a absolutely wonderful Christmas and got to see family and friends and enjoy the time with loved ones. This was my first in a while I got to spend with my folks AND my sister. I didn't get to see my nephews, but I did at Thanksgiving. So I'm very grateful for the time I got to see my big sis.

Now with this week off (University is closed), it's time to get the house and my office in particular ready for the upcoming new year. We cut off the desktop (and removed the "aprons") from the built-ins and mounted it on a standing desk base already, so that's good. New rug, under desk treadmill, dual monitor arms, and cable openings in the desk to the under-desk mounted power supply are all on the agenda this week.

Even without work this week, there's always things to do. I WILL get active and I WILL lose weight and get into better shape before the season begins. Just sayin'.

Good morning MGSpies on a cool damp WNY last Thursday of 2023 Community Call day having a zero commute workday from the basement command and control center of my teleworking outpost, hot coffee on hand with things to be thankful for - brother's health continues to improve, family his healthy and optimistic, and interview today for same office advancement doing almost exactly what I am doing now - good way to close out an exceptional year in my life that dates back to the Protozoic if you ask my children hope to see many on the last Community Call of 2023 and hope golf is a part of your day!

Good morning all,

Another rainy day in Upstate NY with no real plans for the day. Hope to join at least some of the Community Call later, but we'll see what pops up on the agenda as the day goes on.

Looks like we'll be leaving a day later than expected, which my mom is thrilled about. I'm personally going slightly stir-crazy, but I have no real reason to complain.

I've been reading through all of Tom Coyne's books and recently started A Course Called Scotland. I loved the Ireland book and this one has been a great read so far. Going to try and make a dent in it this morning while the wife sleeps in.

Feels like a multiple cup of coffee morning for me. Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning everyone!

It's community call day which is always a good time and I'm looking forward to seeing those of you who join in. I have a DR's appointment to pick up my brace and see how it's going to work out. I woke up about two mornings ago remembering that the tech mentioned removing the ability of the brace to move up and down and suddenly realized, "how am I going to drive with it on?". I've learned to modify things over a lifetime of restricted mobility, but this might be too much.

I might do a little running around afterwards just to enjoy not being at work.

Thursday is upon us my spies and Mother Nature is taking her time in warming South Texas back up.. Won’t be back to pushing the 70° mark until this weekend… Start of the day in the high  30’s with maybe the low 60’s as the high. 
  Engaged in a brief arbitration and mitigation event with the Edison Enforcers before starting yesterday’s round. We came to a settlement of sorts with their knowledge that a full blown intervention is hanging over their heads if they didn’t start increasing performance. There was a small discussion about operator error, that was immediately dismissed for obvious reason. The Edison’s performed well. A lot better distance accuracy and still stop when hitting the greens like they are being hit into wet cement. The altitude of shots were lower also. The big negative of the day was that I had to use them too much. I earned a new respect for those of you that have to play in layers and pants. I took way too long in figuring out how to change setups and swings while looking liked an unhoused person wearing their entire wardrobe. . I am trying to be more adult about things, an attempted to look at my high, really high, calculator needed high score;  as an exercise in doing math. 
  No golf for at least today and possibly a few days. Doing more of those required medical tests demanded by “she who would rule all.”

Good morning MGS folk!  Solid 2” of rain in eastern NC yesterday made for a soggy day.  Today is to be better - may try to play a round today - all depends on the local course and plans with the family.  Big meal tonight as d-I-l and grands are in town from Boston while the son had to stay behind with some flu bug….

She requested a “fancy donut” for breakfast so I am getting ready to head to the bakery for that now. Dinner with some of her friends and family tonight at a Japanese steak house. Good morning all and Happy community call Thursday! Getting a rain/sleet mix here currently which is just lovely, but temps should stay above freezing so hopefully won't cause too much issue with road conditions. 

Bought a golf net to use in my garage for the winter about a month or so ago and noticed it already has multiple holes in it. Will be returning it to Amazon and trying a different option. I would love to go with the Spornia SPG-7, but value my life so will not push my luck with SWMBO. Truthfully, I wouldn't blame her for clocking me if I bought one since I just yesterday renewed my country club membership . Found what look like some decent sub $100 options on Amazon that should hold up better than what I bought initially.

Morning Spies! 

Rainy and cool today (40s). I might get out on the mat if I am lucky. Working on my swing by video this week. Taking videos, analyzing them, determining that I look like an out of water salmon flopping all over when I swing. Trying to fix this so I don’t cause alarm on the tee box next season. Wouldn’t want anyone to rush me to do CPR because they thought I was having a medical issue.

Short week this week as I am back today and tomorrow. Perfect low activity days that will allow me to catch up and plan for next week. Have one interrogation to do today with internal VP to help decode some success factors. Then I can think about playing golf all day….like I do…..every day.

Today is “Pledge of Allegiance Day” here in the USA. If you haven’t said it in a while, today would be a good day to refresh those little gray cells. ‘MERICA

Good morning Spies!

We are enjoying some family time away from home this week.  Yesterday was pretty great, as we spent a ton of time hanging out and listening to music on Broadway in Nashville, and also purchased some cowboy boots for 4/5 family members!  (This was an unusual extravagance, but one that was promised when we planned the trip.)  It was a good day and today holds similar promise.

I am of course still the only person out of bed, and have been enjoying the youtube fireplace on the ABNB tv, some good coffee, and quiet time to get work done on my day off.  (There really are no days off, it seems, but that's ok.)

Good morning Spies,

Second cuppa going down. I seasoned my Christmas present yesterday. A carbon steel wok. It made the house rather noisy. The smoke detectors took exception to my efforts. Not me ch on tap today in gray damp CNY. I have a massage this afternoon. They have been most helpful since starting my running journey at age 59.

I christened my Christmas gift with shrimp and snow peas tossed with rice noodles.
