Under your accounts settings, there is an option that says something along the lines of "Follow content I reply to", I would check and make sure that isn't turned on.

... Try and keep up Shanks. Deadwood is a Western which evidently became todays theme. So Bobby don't exist. Ellsworth was a good guy and a great character and why I chose him for you but if you want closer to home and filmed in Tennessee, you could claim AL from Old Henry:

... Well let me give you a warning. Place your Southern gentleman language appreciation on the shelf before entering the world of Deadwood. You will never hear more foul and I mean very foul language than you hear on this show. That said, you quickly become immune and the use of the rest of the English language has never been as utilized before or since. As Ben reminded me earlier, it is truly a masterpiece of writing.

I've always heard the writing on that show was phenomenal. The language won't bother me with what I hear every day in automotive manufacturing, it gets pretty creative. I think it was one of those shows that came and went before I had HBO. I'm pretty bad about watching stuff I didn't see when it was originally released. I know I've missed out on a lot of shows and movies because of that.

I’m usually the same way when it comes to watching shows. If it’s not current I usually can’t get through all of it. There have been a few shows that really pull me in and I’ve binged several seasons in the matter of a few days or weeks. Looks like I do not have access to Deadwood so I will have to pretend that I fit in here.

@ParFore74x - thinking that I may pop in and out, as I see the need to do so, thinking if I went with this older western character it may work........ maybe you should look around at others from that era?

The writing is among the best of any television show I’ve watched, that being said the foul language is next level and really raised to an art form in and of it itself. If you jump into this pool, I look forward to getting your impressions. To judge whether or not Sam and I are nuts.

Also, as a general note if you choose John Wayne as your spirit cowboy, you must also choose the western your version of John Wayne appeared in, so that we can judge/approve accordingly. I’ll go first: 

He was in a lot of great westerns, but this one is my favorite. My dad and I have probably seen this movie dozens of times together and each time is as good as the first.

I and others here that think the world of Westerns revolves around Deadwood, certainly don't look down on anyone that didn't have the opportunity or inclination to watch the best Western ever made. We are family here with unlimited support for those mentally disadvantaged that would be hard pressed to fathom the dissimilarity betwixt Walmart and Whole Foods, the only similarity being they begin with "W". Okay, Deadwood fans, Tim Olyphant was recently on the Rich Eisen show and relayed this story.

I used to own the box DVD set of Deadwood, and Olyphant’s commentary on one of the episodes was downright hilarious.

Best western series, in my book.

One of my favorite John Wayne & Dean Martin Westerns! Walter Brennan as Stumpy, was great. Wasn't Ricky Nelson cool? Not to mention Angie Dickenson, wow!
The other John Wayne Western I'll watch for at least the 500th time is El Dorado with Wayne, James Caan & Robert Mitchum. Great Westerns! Of course this takes nothing away from Clint Eastwoods spaghetti westerns.
