What kind of golf brush do you use?

I had just put a Grooveit in my amazon cart.  What are you all putting in it just water, dishsoap and water or something else?

I used a couple drops of dawn before. Still too foamy!

Switched to 1/4 cup simple green and water! Works perfectly!

I wouldn't say it's my favorite, as I haven't tried very many, but I've been using the frogger for a long time. The groove cleaner on the end is a nice touch.

That looks pretty cool.  Will have to try it out.

Honestly have had a ton and always gravitate to the cheap amazon ones because I tend to lose and break a ton.  Most of the time they get snagged on something and snap off my bag.

Best part is, when it's low, I can just add more water! The residuals from SG lasts forever!

I go to Harbor Freight stores and buy the cheap .89 cent brass brushes.  I usually end up losing them eventually.

Another CAPP trick.  Get one of the clip style retractable leashes for ID badges and loop it to your brush. Clip to your bag!

Screenshot_20240409_193550_Temu.jpg.697b5cdec2cdf8d26144b9b58564370d.jpg

Lighter leashes work too if you take rubber cap off.

I use the Frogger. It's decent, but nothing special. Good when used in tandem with a wet towel. I like the Club Glove Microfiber Caddie Towel.

Frogger and other brushes are on Amazon Prime Day deals if you’re interested.

Perosnally, I use a nylon bristle grout brush I picked up at Home Depot. The head is larger so it’s really easy to cover more grooves at once. $3.50

Cleanmate from Oddshot Golf.  It is a great size - holds enough soap/water to clean all your clubs several times, but is small enough to not get in the way when it is hanging on your bag.

I use a soft Oral B toothbrush after each round to keep my clubs clean.

It works very well for keeping my clubs clean and looking good for a long time

I used the Groove It with the water storage. Works very well for me.  But, if you carry a wet towel, any stiff brush would work and the wipe with the wet towel.

I've been using the Amazon version with water container and works perfect for me other than the fact that it leaks.

I also had and very quickly lost a GrooveIt. Great concept, terrible execution. I now use something called a "Caddy Splash". So far so good. It attaches with a carabiner style clip and is retractable. The water reservoir is large, and doesn't leak like ones I've had in the past.

... While I used several different brushes playing in the soft, sometimes muddy conditions in the Midwest and grooves could get filled, Phoenix is usually dry and while some dirt/grass gets in my grooves on occasion, it is easily removed with a wet towel. So I just use the Costco Microfiber towels. They hold water much longer than any golf towels I have used and at 36 for $20 and sometimes even less on sale, they are a great bargain and are perfect for golf balls and clubs with the bonus of accomplishing other tasks around the house.

One that fits in my pocket.  Accidentally broke the common red plastic one, realized it fits in my pocket without the 5 inch shaft.  Viola!  At home I have industrial type wire and wire/plastic combo brushes.  Also keep a small 3 inch yellow plastic round one in the bag.

I've used a combo of Frogger (and Frogger knockoff), GrooveIt, and/or wet towel and tee.  The Frogger (and knockoffs) work pretty well but the metal bristles snag my towel and bag, and if you lose the cover for the pointed tool end --ouch!  I've had no problem with the Grooveit magnet (except when yanking something out of the trunk that catches on it).  I got a combo package of the regular Grooveit (with water chamber) that I use with my push cart, and Grooveit Mini (no water) when carrying my clubs.  Wet towel and tee remains my standard even if I have one (or both) of the others with me.

I've tried them all...

  • little pocket brushes,
  • amazon brushes with the lanyard that stretches,
  • amazon one with water,
  • I had a grooveit but the brush fell off and now I have a 25.00 magnet...

I need something to clean my clubs while I play; what's your favorite golf brush?

GrooveIt is my current favorite. It replaced my Frogger brushes, which were actually too rough on my club faces.

Groove it. Only negative is that it will leak if left full of water, so have to empty after each round or have a wet bag/ car.lol

image.png.1bae4b1598b869b504721a37a4174662.png

As a kid the only option around seemed to be a wet cloth and brass brush, so that's what I initially went back to. But as I like to keep the club faces and grooves as clean as possible and clean up the clubs after each round, the faces were getting scratched up with the brass brushes. Switching to the groove it has been great. Seems very effective at removing crud from the face and grooves and doesn't notably mark the faces.

I now have a caddy splash bottle brush, a temu version of the same design, a magnetic groove-it mini, my combo brass/nylon pic brush, a pocket nylon/pic brush, several single brushes.

I mostly use the temu bottle one and the pocket one. The mini Magnetic one hangs on the bag, buy on rough and bumpy courses it sometimes disconnects and I find it on the cart bag deck.

I put a flat o-ring between the cap and bottle. No leaks! The squirter button some times sticks, but a slight rotation frees it up quickly.

As with any of the bottle brush types, the brush heads are removable, and occasionally will unclipped from the nozzle

I really like the caddy splash, I've used it all year and it works exceptionally. Got a BirdieBoss towel to go with it and threw out the old rag I used to use. It's pretty solid quality as I've banged it off the cart and loading my bag into my car a few times and it holds up. I had an old double sided brush before and this is 10x better to me.
