I'm not aware if the VCT indexes are posted anywhere.  @GolfSpy_BEN is in charge of that.

I just calculated mine using the most recently posted rounds using the tool @GolfSpy_BEN posted at the first post of this thread.  It came up with 42.6 VCT index for the last 3 rounds.  That gives me a CH of 41 for the round I played yesterday.

For my playing partner @Placasse61, I come up with an 18 VCT index based on the last three posted rounds.

Driver - :PXG: GEN5 0311FX 9°+1.5° - ProjectX Cypher 40 5.5 trimmed to 44"
Wood - :PXG: GEN5 0311FX 4-wood flat - ProjectX Cypher 50 5.5
Hybrid - :PXG: 0211 22° flat - ProjectX Cypher 50 5.5

Wedges - :nickent-small: Genex GH Pro 54°, :cleveland-small: ZipGroove 58°
Putter - Wilson (pre Staff) Brass Tech BT-2 with :garsen: ULTIMATE grip
Balls - Kirkland yellow, or whatever I can pick up.  Prefer newer ('23) :titleist-small: V1x.
Distance/Tracking:ShotScope:  X5 Watch
Lugging:Clicgear: 4.0 in obnoxious green

RH player shooting ~105 in Portland, Oregon.  New to the game and improving every week!

For those in the two-person best ball Mid-Season VCT tournament, we're heading to the last several days to post scores.  So far, we got just under 60% of scores submitted.  @2puttbogey and @Fairwayguy2, you posted on the VCT week 14 thread, but didn't post your scorecard.  If you wish those scores to count, I'll need a picture or some other representation of the hole-by-hole scores.

So far, there have been some really good scores from some very scenic golf courses!  I'm sure this weekend's scores will be no different!  Hopefully for those who weeklong weather issues, you will be able to get out and post a score.   If not, please let us know.

Thanks everyone and as soon as posting deadline has passed and all the scores posted, I'll get everything tallied up and the results posted.

Sorry @Randall Robbins I think I let the team down. Felt like I played so well only to have a triple on this last detail the score.   Kinda an up and down day with some nice birdie putts but also a couple poor par putts.  Including a 3 putt double.

Win or lose these tourneys are always fun.

I gave a Quick Look without handicaps factored in and looks like I birdied your bogey hole and you covered my bad holes with par or better.  Gonna be an interesting outcome.

Yes, you two did some serious "ham and egging" during your respective rounds.  Will it be good enough to pull off a win?  Time will tell (but I won't until tomorrow)!

Well, the first week of the Mid-Season VCT Two Person Best Ball Tournament is in the books.  The qualifiers for the flight championships have been established and we’re all looking for another week of some outstanding golf.

So, without further ado, here we go with the week 1 results!

As might be expected, Flight I had the tightest matches of all the flights.  One match was won by one stroke and the other decided with a second level tie breaker!  The team of @Preeway and @Javs built an early one stroke lead on the front and help with the help of a net eagle and held off a late charge by @Randall Robbins and @GolfSpy_BNG to take the first group -10 to -9.  Both teams played well and had -6 in the back including each having a net eagle.  In the end, @Preeway and @Javs prevailed in a close match.

The second group featured @Cfhandyman and @Northern Monkey against @Josh Parker and @Shifty.  Both teams played well shooting a net -7.   Under the tie breaker scenario, the first tie breaker was how many net birdies or better each team had.  Both had seven.  We had to go to the second tie breaker of how many net eagles each team had.  Josh Parker/Shifty had two eagles to go with their two bogeys and took group B in the tightest round in the competition.

image.png.f09e7f7c2bcbf0f29fb68f00a3ef2404.png

So, it’s the team of Preeway/Javs facing off against Josh Parker/shift in the Flight I championship this week!

Flight II had a big-time butt whipping and a close three-way competition for one spot.  Even though the team of Golf2Much and @William P had a solid round at -8, the team of @tw1ns and @GolfSpy_BEN had OUTSTANDING rounds.  Together they shot a net best ball -15 which included three eagles and nine birdies!  Tough to compete against that!  Great shooting guys!

The other group included three team fighting for one position.  The teams of @GolfSpy_APH / @GolfSpy BOS and @IndyBonzo / @2puttbogey each had respectable -6 scores.  In fact, GolfSpy_APH/GolfSpy BOS had two net eagles, but coupled that with three team bogeys.  But it was the team of @GolfSpy SAM and @rkj427 that shot the most consistent and ended it going -3 in the last two holes on their way to winning group B with a -10.

image.png.ac3d1f5855abfeed9fee18da467f081e.png

The Flight II championship will feature the teams of tw1ns/GolfSpy_BEN and GolfSpy SAM/rkj427 facing off for the mid-season crown.

In Flight III/IV had some interesting matches.  Group A featured @Rico_de_Gallo and @frazzman80 taking on @tchat07 and @Alan Stewart.  The team of tchat07/Alan Stewart were hot of the gate building shooting -7 on the first nine hole and establishing a two-stroke lead.  But the solid play on the back and some untimely bogeys for tchat07/Alan Stewart ultimately to a three-shot victory for of Rico_de_Gallo/frazzman.  Both teams had two net eagles!

Flight III/IV group B featured the Australian team of @Glenmore5 and @SDunne facing off against @fozcycleand @dback.  Due to some unforeseen golfing formats Glenmore5 played this past week, he couldn’t post an official score.  That left SDunne by himself.  Though he put up a good fight, the team of fozcycle/dback had a solid -7 round and took group B.

image.png.72d1583b7166ffe99415ab4935dad837.png

The two teams representing the Flight III/IV in the Mid-Season Championship are Rico_de_Gallo/frazzman80 against fozcycle/dback!

Finally in Flight V/VI we had a runaway and a very tight match.  @Fairwayguy2 and @UNCRoss faced off against @Mr. Mushballand @Placasse61.  Fairwayguy2/UNCRoss played very consistently at -6, but the two net eagles and eight birdies by Mr.Mushball/Placcasse61 were too much and they took group A.

Group B saw @Wolfstrum and @MGoBlue100 taking on @WillRowland and @USMCSnyper.  The team of Wolfstrum/MGoBlue100 built a three-stroke lead on the front nine, matched the net eagles on the back, overcame a couple of bogeys and held off a late charge to take a one-shot victory.

image.png.a47da211fa599eb1e71d7a610f8e8e76.png

That means the teams of Mr.Mushball/Placcasse61 and Wolfstrum/MGoBlue100 will face off in the Flight V/VI championship.

There you have it!   It was a great week one of golf and we’re all looking forward to another outstanding week 2 championship round!  For everyone left, you have this week to post on the VCT week 15 thread.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all who participated.

Here are the pairings for this week's Mid-Season Two Person Best Ball Championship:

Bogeys aren't so terrible. You should try a few on, just for fun.

Also, Dear Ben and @tw1ns : please remember this very important public service announcement.

Bogeys aren't so terrible. You should try a few on, just for fun.

I don't know about that.  Between the both of them last week, they only had a total of three net bogeys.  Unfortunately for us (getting our preverbal butts kicked), every time they got one, their partner came through with at least a net par so there was no damage!

Look at it this way @GolfSpy SAM, statistically they are probably due for a few!  So, get those big boy shorts on, get plenty of rest and shoot a score of a lifetime!  Make them sweat a little!
