I do a nice dry cleaning first, something about ball on ball contact, even if it isn't the "flesh", creeps me out a bit.

That was sort of where I was going with it.

This is a crazy putter, the toe hang is actually above the horizontal face balanced point. Like 1 o'clock.

The patina is very cool and deep black...

How has your experience been there?

If you're ever up for a change (or just bored lol) let me know and I can probably get you a free trial lesson at Top Golf which isn't far from you if you're at the Schaumburg Golfsmith.

The experience has been pretty good. I think they have me down the right track. I just wish the lessons were outside.

I've been meaning to try that Top Golf. But, once the weather gets good, I'm out on the course a lot. Not as much range time.

After that horrifying thought, there will be one less person out there combing through the garage sales.

I posted this in one of the other threads, but will go ahead and share again:

One of my favorite ones:

When I was working at a club in Dallas, we had a closet of "waste" clubs that we used for over-flow rental bags. There was a putter in the bunch that looked good to me...had (going from memory here) "handmade in the USA" stamped on it....had "Grace" stamped on it, and maybe another thing or two that made me wonder about it. This was not too long after Nick Price had made the Bobby Grace putters famous, and I thought it might be some kind of early BG. But mostly, I just really liked the looks of it...so I asked them if I could buy it. Bought it for $5. Got to looking around the net, and saw one just like it on BG's old website. There was a description about the putter and it's history. The history said there were only a few made (less than 100), and that most of them were made for Raymond Floyd. That got me to thinking.....the one I bought was something like 38" or something, and I had already cut it down and found it also had either a metal or wooden rod inserted down the shaft. Oh.....the one on BG's website....it was selling for something like $1200 (and that was several years ago). I decided to stop putting with it, and hang it on the wall, LOL.

Hey Nic

How hard is it for a shop to adjust the Cushin? Loft and lie angle seem off... Very crisp feeling putter though. Would like to get it tuned and see what it has.

That is one we would send back to the factory. Our Mitchell machine does not have the correct bar for bending a no hosel putter. Better off sending it to Ping.

What is the price on something like that? Should I get a new shaft while it is there?

Not exactly sure.... I can find out in the AM, and let you know. The factory is closed at the mo, and I just don't remember everything I read anymore.... Damn old age. Shouldn't be more than 10-15 for the bend, but a new shaft could set you back $30??

Do they tumble the heads on putters too, or just irons? Assuming this one is MnBr and not BeCu

So I took the cushin into the local shop today (Haggin Oaks) and they called Ping for me. $59 for new shaft, grip, and a tumble. Had credit, gave it a go.

Wil post the finished putter when it comes home.
