Hello from Monterey, CA!

Hi everyone, I'm a huge fan of MGS content so I decided to join the forum. I'm pretty active on a couple other golf forums under the same user name, I'm a recovering tinkerer/club ho, and I've taken full advantage of all the golf in the Monterey area since I've been here! Unfortunately I'll be moving back to the east coast next spring (active duty Navy) but I'm thankful I'll be arriving in spring, which will be right in time for golf season . I look forward to interacting with everyone, and if any of you want to tee it up at Bayonet and Black Horse hit me up!

Welcome mr.hicksta. I've been wanting to get down and play Pasatiempo for years and still haven't. Bayonet is great and more affordable than many of the Monterey courses. Enjoy them all while you can!

As a newbee myself, let me welcome you to this site.    Likewise, it seems that I will welcome you to the east coast.   Where specifically will you be relocating.   Heck, I'm an Army living in Annapolis, so believe me when I suggest that living on the shores of the Chesapeake in the Land of Pleasant Living isn't all that bad.   Expensive yes, but not all that bad.  Like my good friend, Carolina, I look forward to some golf with you.

Thanks man! I'll be living in the Columbia are and will be working at good ol' Fort Meade. I still haven't found a place, but seeing how next quarter is my last at Naval Postgraduate School I suppose I should nail down a place to live sooner rather than later! I was in VA (Va Beach/Norfolk) from 2010 to 2015 and my oldest lives in MD so I'm somewhat familiar with the area. All I know is that it will be nice to get settled as I've moved too much the last few years!

Since you will be in Columbia, we will surely get some golf in together.    From my Annapolis perspective, the great thing about living in Columbia is that you are already half way to the Frederick and Hagerstown areas where there are some really great courses.   The good thing about Annapolis is the access to eastern shore golf, but some of the other area courses can be a commute for me, one which I am more than willing to take if I don't need to get up with the ducks.

Small world indeed! I actually live in Seaside, but as you know it's pretty close to Monterey . I played Honey Bee a lot while I was in the Hampton Roads area and enjoyed it a lot!

yes it is....  I use to play at Denise the Menace park long ago.  Father was stationed at post graduate and finally retired at NOB in Norfolk after 25 years.  Love Love Love golf in VaBch.   I go back every year during the 4th of July.  Have a house in the OBX,  Avon.

Right on! I see your located in San Antonio now and I'll actually be stopping there during my trek cross country. Any particular course you'd recommend? I'm looking at TPC now, but I know there are some gems out that way.
